Shameless self promotion time: I have a cool post on the Video board!
4657 Rio-Duran Duran 1983
This isn't that bad, but like I said before, around here, the Durans were a chick act. 4656 Green Light-American Breed 1968
Only heard this a handful of times. But I DO have member Gary Loizzo's autograph! 4655 Bad Case of Loving You-Robert Palmer 1979
One, along with The Break Up song, that classic rock radio killed. 4654 Steam-Peter Gabriel 1992/93
Everybody loved this, but I always thought Digging in the Dirt was better. 4653 Casey Jones-Grateful Dead 1970
One of the two most popular cuts by the Dead. But I'm just not a Dead-head. 4652 Can’t Get This Stuff No More-Van Halen 1996
One of two new songs with Dave on the Greatest Hits collection. This was just average (although better than a lot of Sammy stuff) but look for the other one WAY up on this list. 4651 Fernando-ABBA 1976 (previous ranking 2998)
Average song. But as you see, it's fallen out of grace with me.
4650 Treat Her Gently/Lonely Old People-Paul McCartney 1975
This song comes right out of the fade out from Listen to What the Man says on Venus and Mars. A cool song-Venus and Mars is essential McCartney.
4649 Wasted Time-Eagles 1976 (new addition)
Yet another song I learned from the 2 disc set. Good, but I wasn't missing THAT much.
4648 Soldier Boy-Shirelles 1961/62
Yet another girl group song. Ok.
4647 This Magic Moment-Jay & the Americans 1968/69
This still gets a fair amount of oldies play. I applaud them for having a hit with a song like this considering the year.
4646 I’ll Bet He’s Nice-Beach Boys 1977
A "nice" little song I learned from their box set. 4645 We Got Married-Paul McCartney 1989
A mellow little track from the Flowers album. I liked most of those cuts. 4644 It Ain't Enough-Corey Hart 1984
A cool song that was overlooked by Sunglasses. 4643 Werewolves of London-Warren Zevon 1978
Another totally overplayed classic rock song. 4642 Mama Said-Shirelles 1961/62
Here they are again. Well, hearing this is better than that string of Supremes hits that all sound alike.
4641 Love Me Tender-Elvis 1956
I guess this was his first big ballad. Did this help the adults accept him at all? 4640 I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For-U2 1987
I'm sorry but I think this song is TOTALLY overrated.
4639 Athena-Who 1982
I go through a love/hate thing with this song.
4638 (I’m Not Your) Steppin’ Stone (Live)-Monkees 1967/91
Live cut on their box set. Captures the screams of teenage girls well.
Go for it!

4657 - 4648. I don't know a single one of these! Wow.
4647 This Magic Moment - Jay & the Americans
Not bad.
4646 - 4644. Don't know these.
4643 Werewolves of London - Warren Zevon
I've never heard this before. Well, not to my knowledge anyway.
4642 Mama Said - Shirelles
I like all of those Supremes hits that sound alike...
4641 Love Me Tender - Elvis
I could never get into the Elvis ballads.
4640 I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For - U2
I'm sorry but...I love this song. I think it's fantastic.
4639 Athena - Who
Don't know it.
4638 (I’m Not Your) Steppin’ Stone (Live) - Monkees
I'll bet those screams are killer.

4657 Rio-Duran Duran 1983 Love this! My favorite by them.
4656 Green Light-American Breed 1968 I've always been curious about this one, but don't think I've ever heard it.
4655 Bad Case of Loving You-Robert Palmer 1979 Great rocker, but a bit overplayed.
4654 Steam-Peter Gabriel 1992/93 I haven't heard this in years, but always liked it a lot.
4653 Casey Jones-Grateful Dead 1970 I've never cared for this much - give me Shakedown Street!
4652 Can’t Get This Stuff No More-Van Halen 1996 Don't know it.
4651 Fernando-ABBA 1976 (previous ranking 2998) Good one - the roller rink used this often for couples' skates back in the day.
4650 Treat Her Gently/Lonely Old People-Paul McCartney 1975 I agree about Venus & Mars - superb album. Not my favorite cuts from it, but still good.
4649 Wasted Time-Eagles 1976 (new addition) Good, but the single releases are better.
4648 Soldier Boy-Shirelles 1961/62 Nice song, one of their better ones.
4647 This Magic Moment-Jay & the Americans 1968/69 Good cover of a classic.
4646 I’ll Bet He’s Nice-Beach Boys 1977 Not their best work, but still a good cut.
4645 We Got Married-Paul McCartney 1989 One of the best tracks from that album.
4644 It Ain't Enough-Corey Hart 1984 This is one I don't remember hearing much when it was current, for some reason. Good, but prefer Sunglasses.
4643 Werewolves of London-Warren Zevon 1978 I like to hear this occasionally.
4642 Mama Said-Shirelles 1961/62 An average song - not bad, not great.
4641 Love Me Tender-Elvis 1956 Beautiful melody and vocals on this.
4640 I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For-U2 1987 I prefer their earlier 80s material.
4639 Athena-Who 1982 I'm kind of lukewarm to this. I hardly ever hear it anymore, although I remember it got a lot of play in fall '82 when it was current.
4638 (I’m Not Your) Steppin’ Stone (Live)-Monkees 1967/91 I've never heard this live, but really enjoy the studio version.

4657 Rio-Duran Duran 1983 Not bad
4656 Green Light-American Breed 1968 The only thing I remember from them is Bend Me Shape Me
4655 Bad Case of Loving You-Robert Palmer 1979 Eh --- never cared much for any of his songs.
4654 Steam-Peter Gabriel 1992/93 Don't know it
4653 Casey Jones-Grateful Dead 1970 Don't know it
4652 Can’t Get This Stuff No More-Van Halen 1996 Don't know it
4651 Fernando-ABBA 1976 (previous ranking 2998) Not bad. Maybe in top 30% of their songs. - But it always made me think of Ferdinand the Bull
4650 Treat Her Gently/Lonely Old People-Paul McCartney 1975 Can't place it, but I know I've heard it.
4649 Wasted Time-Eagles 1976 (new addition) Actually first heard it on Hell Freezes Over, then went back and found the original. Good song.
4648 Soldier Boy-Shirelles 1961/62 Probably the worst effort by one of my fave early '60s girl groups.
4647 This Magic Moment-Jay & the Americans 1968/69 Love Jay's voice, but the original by the Drifters has it beat.
4646 I’ll Bet He’s Nice-Beach Boys 1977 Don't know it
4645 We Got Married-Paul McCartney 1989 Don't know it
4644 It Ain't Enough-Corey Hart 1984 Barely remember it. OK, I guess
4643 Werewolves of London-Warren Zevon 1978 Not bad
4642 Mama Said-Shirelles 1961/62 MUCH better Shirelles song
4641 Love Me Tender-Elvis 1956 I was twelve when this came out. It's not a bad song - although I like others of his early ones better - but I most remember this for the effect it had on 12 year old girls. scary.
4640 I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For-U2 1987 I like it fine.
4639 Athena-Who 1982 Don't know it
4638 (I’m Not Your) Steppin’ Stone (Live)-Monkees 1967/91 Don't know the live version, I don't think. Love the studio version

4657 Rio-Duran Duran 1983 I think that time has been kinder to these guys than a lot of other "chick" bands from the 70's-80's. Now they seem to get more respect as a band, which is cool. I always liked them a lot, so "Rio" has always been big on my club playlist.
4656 Green Light-American Breed 1968 I have this, but I like their other 2 hits better.
4655 Bad Case of Loving You-Robert Palmer 1979 He did better...
4654 Steam-Peter Gabriel 1992/93 Good tune, I remember dancing at Axis in Boston with a very cute girl to this song in the summer of '93.
4653 Casey Jones-Grateful Dead 1970 Good one!
4652 Can’t Get This Stuff No More-Van Halen 1996 "Got a date with a supermodel"... Made me realize how much I missed the classic VH line-up.
4651 Fernando-ABBA 1976 (previous ranking 2998) Eh, I'm indifferent to it.
4650 Treat Her Gently/Lonely Old People-Paul McCartney 1975 I always skipped over this, when I had it on vinyl and years later when I had it on CD.
4649 Wasted Time-Eagles 1976 (new addition) 4648 Soldier Boy-Shirelles 1961/62 4647 This Magic Moment-Jay & the Americans 1968/69 These three I don't have much to say about.. They're just "there"..
4646 I’ll Bet He’s Nice-Beach Boys 1977 Here we go..... OK, There is a VERY funny bootleg tape circulating (which I have) of Brian at the piano playing his new songs for the rest of the Beach Boys. You can almost HEAR their jaws dropping when he plays them THIS! After he sings the line "I'll bet he's nice, I'll bet he's twice..." You can hear one of them in the background say "Who's writing is THIS?!?". Then, when he sings the mid-section ("Baby, don't you ever tell me that you're leavin"), you can hear another of them (Al Jardine, I THINK) go "Oh my GODDDDDD!!!!" in disgust. Yet despite that, the song DID get recorded and released... A strange song from an even stranger album, but one of the reasons why I love this group so much!
There isn't much else to comment on.. I like the rest of the songs here, just don't have any great stories to go with them...

I'm surprised a song that everyone hated so much made the box set while stuff like You're So Good to Me and Let Him Run Wild got let off! You don't always have to come up with stories! LOL! I like reading them, but you can just say if you like them.

Who knows how things work in that organization? I do know that Let Him Run Wild was left off the box set because Brian wanted it left off, for reasons I don't know..

4657 - Rio - Yeah it was kind of catchy - other than taping Hungry like The Wolf off the radio - I never bought any of the records.
4656 - Green Light - I've only heard Bend Me Shape Me -and it's b side - can't think of the title. His autograph cool!
4655 - Bad Case Of Loving You - Still "Love" it.
4654 - Steam - Don't remember it.
4653 - Casey Jones - I'm not a dead head either - I like a handful of tunes though . Have liked this one since the early 80's.
4652 - Can't Get This Stuff No More - It's been a while since I've listened to it but I thought it was pretty good . I remember at the time the disc came out , I was talking to my sister in law's brother in law and he LOVED the two new tracks alot.
4651 - Fernando - Very nice melody.
4650 - Treat Her Gently / Lonely Old People - I like this quite alot . The LP is awesome.
4649 - Wasted Time - Good stuff.
4648 - Soldier Boy - I hear it occasionally - I might even have it on tape somewhere - it's good.
4647 - This Magic Moment - I 've always liked this.
4646 - I'll Bet He's Nice - The title sounds kind of familiar but that's it.
4645 - We Got Married - A great track from a great album.
4644 - It Ain''t Enough - As you can probably guess it got lots of play on both TV and Radio - pretty good little tune.
4643 - Werewolves Of London - yup it's really played here as well although I hear Lawyer's Guns + Money occasionally - I like that one alot. RIP Warren
4642 - Mama Said - Another Fave.
4641 - Love Me Tender - I think it probably did a little . A fave.
4640 - I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For - Really overplayed as well but I'd rather listen to it than some of their later material - Lemon for example - YUCK!!
4639 - Athena - It's not bad actually but I think I like Eminence Front more.
4638 - I'm Not Your Steppin' Stone - Prefer the studio version - but will listen to this occasionally - the girls sure went crazy!

4657 Rio-Duran Duran 1983 Good tune. Don't like the single edit.
4656 Green Light-American Breed 1968 Love this! One oldies stations don't touch.
4655 Bad Case of Loving You-Robert Palmer 1979 Always a huge fave, but dislike the '92 re-record. RIP.
4654 Steam-Peter Gabriel 1992/93 "Dirt" hasn't aged well with me, but this has.
4653 Casey Jones-Grateful Dead 1970 I can dig it, man.
4652 Can’t Get This Stuff No More-Van Halen 1996 Good, but the other new track's better.
4651 Fernando-ABBA 1976 (previous ranking 2998) Love this always; known it since current.
4650 Treat Her Gently/Lonely Old People-Paul McCartney 1975 Would more likely look into Wings material first, over Paul solo material.
4649 Wasted Time-Eagles 1976 (new addition) Good.
4648 Soldier Boy-Shirelles 1961/62 My like for this peaked around '94. Prefer "Love me tomorrow".
4647 This Magic Moment-Jay & the Americans 1968/69 Great song.
4646 I’ll Bet He’s Nice-Beach Boys 1977 I burned it, but can't place the tune.
4645 We Got Married-Paul McCartney 1989 Might be lookin'...
4644 It Ain't Enough-Corey Hart 1984 Haven't heard basically since current, but still remember the phrase "just one sec".
4643 Werewolves of London-Warren Zevon 1978 Love this as much as ever. RIP.
4642 Mama Said-Shirelles 1961/62 I almost prefer this to Soldier as well.
4641 Love Me Tender-Elvis 1956 Nice, but not aged with me much.
4640 I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For-U2 1987 I'm sorry but I think this song is TOTALLY overrated. YOU SAID IT! Took the words right from.....your mouth. I honestly didn't think this would hit #1 along with "With or without you".
4639 Athena-Who 1982 Great tune that's sadly absent from their 2-CD hits package.
4638 (I’m Not Your) Steppin’ Stone (Live)-Monkees 1967/91 I might have burned this...

This Magic Moment--Enjoyable. I'll Bet He's Nice--I'll bet I don't know it. We Got Married--No clue. It Ain't Enough--It ain't ringing any bells for me. Werewolves of London--"He'll rip your lungs out, Jim". Love it. Great tune. Mama Said--I agree with what you said. Love Me Tender--I like it a lot. Never get tired of it.
