Last night I made 4 of what should end up being a 6 disc set!
You all know how much I love Christmas music, and I was glad to finally make a concise collection.
If you guys want, I'll list the other 3 tonight!
1. White Christmas-Elvis 2. Christmas Time's A-Coming-Patty Loveless 3. Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)-Darlene Love 4. The Man With All the Toys-Beach Boys 5. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas-Martina McBride 6. Christmas Time is Here Again-Peanuts 7. I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus-John Mellencamp 8. Merry Christmas (Wherever in the World You Are)-Terri Clark 9. Let it Snow-America 10. Merry Christmas, Baby-Elvis 11. Please Come Home For Christmas-Pat Benatar 12. The Most Wonderful Day of the Year from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer 13. Santa's Got an Airplane-Beach Boys 14. Jolly Old St. Nicholas-Chicago 15. My Favorite Things-Martina McBride & Keith Lockhart 16. Frosty the Snowman-Ronettes 17. O Little Town of Bethlehem-Elvis 18. Santa Baby-Mindy McCready 19. Step Into Christmas-Elton John 20. Joy to the World-Supremes 21. The Christmas Song-Angel 22. Take a Walk Through Bethlehem-Trisha Yearwood 23. Jingle Bell Rock-Bobby Helms 24. Silent Night-Martina McBride
As you see, I tried to put in a good variety of songs & artists. I didn't start out putting my VERY fave songs on the first disc (you'll note Martina's O Holy Night & Elvis' If Every Day Was Like Christmas are not on here) but there is still plenty I love on here!
By checking out CD's the past month, I discovered some great stuff like the Patty Loveless & Chicago tunes!
Whattya think of disc 1?

Adam - this is an excellent collection! - Very well done. You can't go wrong with including Elton. I'd like to hear more of that America Christmas album - I remember seeing them perform one of the songs on CNN about a year or so ago. I'd love to see what's on the other 3 discs

I'd love to see what's on the other 3 discs I remember that appearance, Ken - in fact, I was talking with Adam about that not long ago! I had come across it by accident that evening, and unfortunately didn't have a videotape ready, but I remember Dewey and Gerry sounded great!

The 2-disc Christmas compilation that I just got has America's "Hark the Herald Angels Sing". It's a great rendition. Both guys take turns singing lead.

Here is the first post I'm bumping up. I'd love to know what you think of it-the variety, etc.
At the end of the six discs, I'd love to know which is your personal fave.

I love Christmas music too! However, I don't think I've heard many of those renditions. Here's my notes 1. White Christmas-Elvis - I'm sure it's good but I'm not familiar with it. 2. Christmas Time's A-Coming-Patty Loveless - Can't say I've heard it. 3. Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)-Darlene Love - see #2 4. The Man With All the Toys-Beach Boys - I have this (on 2 cds... I think ) but haven't heard it in a few years. 5. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas-Martina McBride - see #2 6. Christmas Time is Here Again-Peanuts - One of the best!!!7. I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus-John Mellencamp - At first, I never cared for his rendition. It's grown on me now. [/i] 8. Merry Christmas (Wherever in the World You Are)-Terri Clark - see #2[/b] 9. Let it Snow-America - see #2 - however, if it sounds like Horse with no name, Tin Man, etc., than it'd be one of my favs 10. Merry Christmas, Baby-Elvis - I think I have this on a compilation. I'm not sure nor this version either. 11. Please Come Home For Christmas-Pat Benatar - Pat's cool but see #212. The Most Wonderful Day of the Year from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer - LOVE this tune13. Santa's Got an Airplane-Beach Boys - I have a BB Christmas CD but don't recall this title. See #214. Jolly Old St. Nicholas-Chicago - WOW! Chicago doing Christmas tunes too!! Again, #215. My Favorite Things-Martina McBride & Keith Lockhart - I love this tune (especially The Supremes version) but haven't heard this one16. Frosty the Snowman-Ronettes - In all honesty, I never liked the sound Phil did with the girl bands. However, I don't mind this version as long as I don't concentrate on it too much. ;D[/i] 17. O Little Town of Bethlehem-Elvis - LOVE this Carol and I'm sure Elvis does a great rendition18. Santa Baby-Mindy McCready - Cute song but don't know this rendition.19. Step Into Christmas-Elton John - see #720. Joy to the World-Supremes - Oh yeah, I like this version. 21. The Christmas Song-Angel - Say, I have a couple of their CDs (and an record kicking around here someplace). Any chance this is the same band? "Sinful" and "White Hot" are the ones I have. Anyway, see #222. Take a Walk Through Bethlehem-Trisha Yearwood - Never heard of it[/i] 23. Jingle Bell Rock-Bobby Helms - Always a great classic that never tires. [/b] 24. Silent Night-Martina McBride - LOVE this Carol but don't know this rendition.[/b] Well, and here I thought I've heard just about anything..... I think I need a wake-up call.

I love Christmas music too! I just made a really fun compilation...I'll have to post the list later...I don't have it with me. But to comment on this one... The ones from this list that I have in my collection are: The Man With All the Toys-Beach Boys Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas-Martina McBride I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus-John Mellencamp Please Come Home For Christmas-Pat Benatar My Favorite Things-Martina McBride & Keith Lockhart Santa Baby-Mindy McCready Step Into Christmas-Elton John Take a Walk Through Bethlehem-Trisha Yearwood Jingle Bell Rock-Bobby Helms Silent Night-Martina McBride Elton John's Step Into Christmas has to be one of my favorite Christmas songs of all time. It's just so fun! I've never really considered My Favorite Things a Christmas song, although I know it has appeared on other artists' Christmas albums. Luther Vandross has it on his Christmas album, which I have. The ones I'm not familiar with that you peaked my interest in are: Christmas Time's A-Coming-Patty Loveless Merry Christmas (Wherever in the World You Are)-Terri Clark Let it Snow-America Santa's Got an Airplane-Beach Boys Jolly Old St. Nicholas-Chicago I have Chicago XXV (Christmas album), but I don't recall that title - maybe it's there...I'll have to go home and check. But I LOVE Chicago's Christmas album. They've got some very unique arrangements...love the horn section! I'll get to the other list tomorrow...gotta go!
