Wow that list is FULL of disco! I mostly listen to the early punk and new wave stuff from the late 70's, so there weren't many songs on that list that I actually like. The only ones I like are:
Because The Night, Patti Smith Dust In The Wind, Kansas Hot Blooded, Foreigner
Once in a while, when I'm in a drunken party mood, I'll enjoy disco music. I do happen to love the movie 54 and Saturday Night Fever (I have the soundtrack on vinyl) and Grease (I have the soundtrack on both CD and vinyl). But I wouldn't say that the songs from those soundtracks are any of my favourite.
I googled a list of songs that were released in 1978 and whether they charted or not (or were bigger hits the year later), here are my favourites:
"Denis" - Blondie "Ever Fallen In Love" - Buzzcocks "Hanging On The Telephone" - Blondie "Hong Kong Garden" - Siouxsie and the Banshees "Psycho Killer" - Talking Heads "Werewolves of London" - Warren Zevon "What Do I Get?" - The Buzzcocks "Wuthering Heights"-Kate Bush
