Howdy! In the 60s,people asked were you a Beatles person or a Stones person? I was a Beatles person, but the music's so ingrained I seldom actually listen to their albums. fave groups: PInk Floyd (before "Dark Side") Moody Blues (before "Octave") Doors Some runners up: Jimi Hendrix Santana (before "Moonflower") Genesis (before Phil Collins took over) King Crimson Jefferson Airplane (but not the Starship!) Renaissance Quicksilver Messenger Service Weather Report Simon & Garfunkel Crosby Stills Nash & Young early Zappa (Mothers of Invention) Firesign Theatre Beach Boys (up to "Surf's Up") I listen to alot of classical, and have a large collection of original cast Broadway musicals LPs, and movie soundtracks. That's how I am with the Beatles-still my fave, but I so seldom listen to them! BTW-how is Renaissance? Is that first album with Keith Relf and his sister pretty good?

Yep, SAT. You are asking for it. Here's my list. By the way, they are not in order by favorites or anything (except the first two; they are respectively my second and third favorite artists of all time). They're just listed however they pop into my head. Bette Midler Reba McEntire Barbra Streisand Liza Minnelli Megan Mullally Whitney Houston Stevie Nicks Tina Turner Aretha Franklin Celine Dion Rosemary Clooney Doris Day Martina McBride Dolly Parton Mariah Carey Jennifer Lopez (I'm so ashamed!!) Britney Spears (hiding face now) Dixie Chicks B-52s Fleetwood Mac Heart The Supremes Backstreet Boys NSync Mary J. Blige No Doubt (pre-2000, mostly) Justin Timberlake Garth Brooks Toby Keith Frank Sinatra Destiny's Child Kelly Rowland Kelly Osbourne Boyz II Men Lee Ann Womack Jo Dee Messina Loretta Lynn Tammy Wynette George Jones Tanya Tucker Pam Tillis John Michael Montgomery Wynonna Judd The Judds The Carpenters Cher I think I'm gonna have to add more later. I'm having a brain fart. [glow=red,2,300]And my number one favorite musical artist of ALL TIME:[/glow] [glow=red,2,300] Judy Garland[/glow] You DO realize there is gonna be trouble for you thinking of Whitney and Celine before Martina, don't you??

WOW, while you didn't have to, I think it's great you put them in order too! If I were more ambitious right now, I would've too! Great list, BTW. Actually, you ask a similar question at YL several months ago (it was a top 50 favorite artists), and did ask us to put them (somewhat) in order of preference. I still have the list from that post, I've just added to, moved some around, and generally tweeked since then.

Yes, I know about Relf in the Yardbirds, that was where I know him from. Actually he was always in them, until Jimmy Page went out as the New Yardbirds, which became Led Zeppelin of course.

You DO realize there is gonna be trouble for you thinking of Whitney and Celine before Martina, don't you?? Can't blame me for that. Just how my brain works! While we're at it, I thought of a few more: Gladys Knight The Bangles The Go-Gos Michael Jackson Janet Jackson Peabo Bryson Aerosmith Queen Eve Alicia Keyes Paula Abdul (which will also score me brownie points if I'm ever on American Idol)
