Two summers ago, my daughter, son-in-law, & myself went to an outdoor concert of a local band called Mainstreet. They billed themselves as a Funk/Rock/R&B band. Essentially they were a bunch of old goats like me who liked to play music of the 70s (some 60s & some 80s). And they did it very well. I've put a partial playlist on CD, of the music they did on that warm summer night under the stars. Of course I got the version of the songs by them that made them famous.

11. Devil With a Blue Dress On - Mitch Ryder

14. Move It On Over - George Thorogood (also made famous by someone else)
15. Feelin' Alright - Joe Cocker
16. Play That Funky Music - Wild Cherry
17. That's the Way (I Like It) - KC & the Sunshine Band
18. Dirty Water - The Standells
19. Takin' It To the Streets - Doobie Brothers
20. Superstition - Stevie Wonder
21. Without You - Badfinger (added on because I room at the end of the CD)
22. Do You Believe in Magic? - Lovin' Spoonful (Another add on)

Sounds like it was a very enjoyable concert, Woody. I imagine the Wild Cherry and KC numbers had the audience up and dancing! I like the mix of styles and eras in this playlist - it works very well!

Thanks Ken. Badfinger got added because someone played Mariah's version on our jukebox at work, and when I got home, I had to hear a better version. I put the playlist together soon after that. And it fit, at least to me.

Thanks Ed, it is a cool list. When I posted this, I was sure you would like the inclusion of The Standells Dirty Water, a song that mentions Boston and the River Charles. We had a blast at the concert, and it was fun putting the list together.
