I was feelin' in a 60s mooe early today (actually yesterday now) before I went to work. After listening to a lot of junk on our jukebox at work, I was still in that mood 10 hours later when I got home. Here's a CD I put together that I will call "If You Remember the 60's, You Probably Weren't Really There." This is Part I.
1. Season of the Witch - Donovan 2. Strange Brew - Cream 3. Crown of Creation - Jefferson Airplane 4. See Emily Play - Pink Floyd 5. Living in the USA - Steve Miller 6. Pearly Queen - Traffic 7. Porpoise Song (Single Version) - Monkees 8. Summertime Blues - Blue Cheer 9. Mary, Mary - Butterfield Blues Band 10. Time Has Come Today - Chambers Brothers 11. Omaha - Moby Grape 12. Beck's Bolero - Jeff Beck 13. Crimson & Clover - Tommy James & the Shondells 14. Undun - Guess Who 15. The Weight - The Band 16. San Franciscan Nights - The Animals 17. In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida - Iron Butterfly
Enjoy!!
Part Two tomorrow, probably around the same time.

I can't answer for Woody, but I did burn a Never Made The Top 20 CD a few years ago that had 19 tracks including the 17 minute 12 second version of In A Gadda Da Vida. It Can Be Done !! ;D

Far out, man! Inna-Gadda-da-Vida: short version? It is kinda far out. No, I don't do short versions of songs. I was really disappointed when I got the "Light & Heavy: Best of Iron Butterfly" CD it had the wimpy 2:55 version of In-A-Gadda-Vida. This CD has the whole 17:02 version, in all it's glory.

And yes I got the full 17:02 version of In-A- Gadda-Da-Vida on the CD. I found a playlist online somewhere called "Stoned Again: The Undergrond 60s." Some of the songs are from that playlist. It was a very good playlist. Of your favs, I love the blues of Strange Brew, it's an amazing song. If not a top ten of all time, The Weight is very, very close for me. And In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida is timeless. I remember a classic rock station in Roswell, NM playing the whole 17 minute version on the radio.

A fine collection of tunes! All are faves and it's nice to see some "Canadian Content" included with The Guess Who.

This is an excellent selection of songs, Woody. I like how you've mixed the better-known songs with some deeper album cuts. Lots of good songs here, but I especially love Strange Brew, Season of the Witch and Undun.

Lots of good songs here, but I especially love Strange Brew, Season of the Witch and Undun. Thanks Dawn. It was fun putting this CD together & listening to the deeper cuts all over again. Many of them I hadn't listened to in years. I you like Season of the Witch, check out the Super Session (Bonus Tracks) CD with Michael Bloomfield, Al Kooper, & Stephen Stills. There are two versions of the song on the disc. The first one was on the original album with horns mixed in by Al Kooper. This is an excellent version of the song. There is also a 2002 remix without the horns that is very good as well.

Those are three very good songs, but of the three, I only have the second one in my digital music collection. And I'm not really sure I would have included it on this compilation. But it was fun to watch the videos, especially the last one.
