Finally, my first concert of 2004! On Saturday, July 10th, at the Post-Gazette Pavilion in Burgettstown, PA, just outside of Pittsburgh, I'm going to see Sting & Annie Lennox... together! This will be the first time I've seen Annie in person, and the 3rd for Sting. Both other times were at the same building, in '96 and 2000. Sting's latest album "Sacred Love" was a disappointment to me, but he is still the man, and I can't wait to see him again!

You're going to see Sting with Annie Lennox? How did you get Annie to go with you?? Seriously, very cool! My first concert of 04 was back in January (Martina McBride & Alan Jackson) and that will most likely be it for 04, other than the oldies acts that hit the local fests (Buckinghams, Ides of March, etc). I expect a full concert review here!

This Sting/Annie Lennox tour sounds really great. I think it'll be a good show. With songs that they both performed being nominated for Oscars this year, I wonder if they'll duet on any of those? That would be cool.

Here's the concert review: The show began at about 7:30 as Sting's guitar player, Dominic Miller, played a short acoustic instrumental set. During which, he did a very pretty rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner," which he dedicated to all of us Americans. Later, Sting made a surprise entrance and they sang "Shape Of My Heart" together. After an intermission, Sting surprised us again as he came out to introduce Annie Lennox. She wore a light blue sequined jacket, a grey and red tank top, ripped blue jeans, had blonde hair and wore sunglasses. She took off the jacket and shades later. For the encore, she put on a black leather jacket. Annie's setlist:Legend In My Living Room Little Bird No More "I Love You's" Pavement Cracks Loneliness Cold Here Comes The Rain Again Waiting In Vain Walking On Broken Glass Missionary Man I Need A Man Encore:Sweet Dreams Why You won't believe this, but when Annie sang "Here Comes The Rain Again," she pointed up to the sky, and it started to rain! It was really pouring during the intermission. Good thing I was seated in the pavilion where it was dry. Annie felt bad for the people who were sitting on the lawn in the back. A man and his wife who were soaked came over to my row and asked if the seats next to me were taken. Nobody showed up to sit there all day, so I let them in. They were so grateful that they bought me 2 Cokes and shared some pizza with me during Sting's set. He wore a black shirt with white collar and cuffs, and black slacks. 6 songs were from his latest album, "Sacred Love." Not many Police songs. Sting's setlist:Send Your Love Synchronicity II Seven Days Dead Man's Rope We'll Be Together (with Annie Lennox) Sacred Love Fields Of Gold This War Fragile Englishman In New York Whenever I Say Your Name Roxanne Never Coming Home 1st Encore:Desert Rose If I Ever Lose My Faith In You Every Breath You Take 2nd Encore:A Thousand Years Rather short list of material, but it was an AWESOME show! During "Roxanne," he sang the first few lines of "King Of Pain." The best of his new songs was "Never Coming Home." That one was really jammin'! I was hoping he would do "Message In A Bottle," even though I read that he wouldn't be performing it on the tour. This was my 3rd Sting concert, and all 3 times he left the song out. Oh well. I don't think he's ever done a bad show, and I had a wonderful time.

This concert sounds like it rocked! I may have a chance to see this show when their tour comes to Seattle. Now I'm a little excited.

Sounds like you had a great time! Too bad it rained, but at least you didn't get wet!
I don't recognize a lot of the songs from either set list, but I'm sure I would have enjoyed even the songs I didn't know. I might would enjoy those more, getting to hear them for the first time. Cool show!
