Boz Scaggs played in Seattle on 7/13 for the Concerts on Pier series. Every summer Seattle blocks off one of the largest piers we have and turns it into a 5,000 seat music venue. It's right on the water of course with beautiful sunsets and the sound quality is amazing.
Over the years I've seen some great shows but Tuesday's concert might have been the best yet.
Boz's voice sounded amazing. I know his singing can be an acquired taste but he never sounded so sweet and clear. He also has his original band from the "Silk Degrees" years back with him and they rocked the house.
He played a lot of old stuff and a lot off his album Dig that came out a couple of years ago, which was a return to the old rock-jazz of stuff like Silk Degrees.
All in all it was a magical experience.

That's great Kitty - glad you had an excellent time .I've heard about those summer concerts. I just watched some TV footage from the 70's of Boz on Saturday Night Live a couple of nights ago and was thinking to myself there are alot of people in that band! it was really good.

Yep, the backing band that he had was made up of about 10 musicians.

Excellent! Glad to know ol' Boz is out there still doing it!
Wasn't some of the Toto boys the band on Silk Degrees?
That sounds like such a cool setting to see a concert in! Bekki and I saw Little River Band out in a field and they played on a mini field with water all around them, almost like a moat! It was pretty cool.
