Went to see The Coasters, The Drifters and The Marvelettes last night. None of the original members (although a couple of guys looked like they were old enough to have been around back then), but a good show nonetheless. The only disappointment was that The Drifters didn't do "White Christmas". All in all, a fun night, though.

Excellent, JP! Yeah, you would think they'd break out White Christmas this time of year!
Now, with their being no originals, was it a case of the oldest member having worked with one of the originals who since retired and they are allowed to use the name, or one of those cases where someone sends out an entirely bogus band using the name?

I'm not sure. I think maybe one of The Drifters and one of The Coasters may have worked with some of the original members. Couldn't find anything on the internet to confirm that, though. I can tell you that there's no way any of The Marvelettes I saw were around in the 60's, or were very young if they were.

Sounds like it was an enjoyable evening, JP! I remember reading about a Drifters show in one of the neighboring counties from me a few months ago. Glad you had a good time.
