Me doing a Sesame Street question over on the Main Board the other day was no coincidence! On Sunday, Bekki came downstairs and asked what I thought about taking the girls to see Sesame Street Live. Sure, why not, especially since it is a classic kids show, and one I always loved and still do. Good thing I said yes, she already ordered the tickets! LOL!
But it was a really good deal, it was only like $50 for 3 seats! Delaney, being under 1, was free.
So we got to the will call to get our tickets. The lady goes, "Let me see if I can get you anything better." The show was at a relatively small place, so our seats weren't horrible to begin with. But then she hands us the tix and says, "Here you go, you're down in front"-they were for the fourth row, center stage!! This was great since we were concerned with Delaney not being able to see from far back.
Anyway, it was a really good show! The main characters on the show were Big Bird, Oscar, Elmo, Zoe, Bert, Ernie, Grover and Cookie. Also on the show were Count, Rosita, a honker and a female grouch. There was also some girl who was part of the show, kind of narrating it, moving it along.
They didn't really do any of the old songs, except there was one song called We Are All Earthings that has been on the show. Bert, Cookie and Oscar did a song called, "Pigeons, Cookies and Trash" (what else?) but I would have rather heard those 3 original songs instead! Doesn't matter; every kid, includng both of mine, loved it.
Oh, and about the Earthlings song-the theme of the show was visitors from outerspace. So there was 2 other Muppets-those 2 Martians with the big mouths that go "Yip, yip, yip, yip, yip...." Which was cool because they are my wife's faves!
Got lots of souvenirs. Get this-a balloon face of Elmo was $10, while a huge program book was only $5! Guess which we opted for. Skylar got a shirt and a Zoe doll, and Delaney got a little figure playset and a ball with all their faces. Yeah, a lot of money, but we didn't spend much on the tix.
Anyway, it was a really cute show, fun for the kids. I recommend it to anyone with kids, nieces & nephews, cousins, etc.
