The concert was absolutely fantastic! They both put on a kick ass show and each gave 150%.
After an opening act who of which neither my middle brother or I had heard of - out came John Fogerty to thunderous applause - the guy's voice has not changed. It still blows me away how great his voice still is after all this time it's amazing ! CCR was my middle brother's first concert and he was blown away. John's band were phenomenal as well.Everyone was dancing, clapping and singing along.
His setlist included:
Travelin Band' - He opened the show with this and the band were rockin' out!
It Came Out Of The Sky
Fortunate Son
Bootleg
Born On The Bayou
Centerfield
Midnight Special
Deja Vu All Over Again - the title track from his latest album - he sang this by himself with an acoustic guitar.
The Old Man Down The Road
Down On The Corner
Up Around The Bend
Who'll Stop The Rain
Have You Ever Seen The Rain
I Heard It Through The Grapevine
Bad Moon Rising
Sweet Hitch - Hiker
Lookin' Out My Back Door - I believe that's all of them.
After a short intermission, so the road crew could get Mellencamp's equipment set up - out came John. Once again more thunderous applause from the crowd and away he went!
John's voice was in fine form and his band was also amazing I have to admit I miss drummer Kenny Aronoff who was with John for years but the guy that's with Mellencamp now is very, very good.
John's setlist included
Jack & Diane
Rain On The Scarecrow - I was very happy he did this!
Hurts So Good
Lonely Ol' Night
R.O.C.K In The U.S.A.
Green River (with John Fogerty - the crowd went nuts when Mellencamp introduced Fogerty back onstage. They did another song as well but the title has slipped my mind.)
Small Town - the show opener
I Need a Lover - very cool - I've never heard him do this before)
Ain't Even Done With The Night
Paper and Fire
Check It Out
Cherry Bomb
Love and Happiness (very cool!)
Crumblin' Down
Pink Houses
Authority Song
There was both Fogerty and Mellencamp merchandise available.T shirt's ranged in price from $40 - $50! but I bought one anyway (yeah I know - and so did my brother and everyone else that was there. We both bought a Fogerty t shirt - it's tye dyed - it looks great
That's my review!
