[glow=red,2,300]I've read a story about a group called Mom's Apple Pie, who released an album with a rather...um...feminine touch.
It appeared that the slice out of the pie on the album cover turned out to be a woman's...well...you know.
Needless to say, the album was pulled.
Any other controversial album covers you might have seen?[/glow]

I once had the chance to buy the Mom's Apple Pie album at a used record store, and didn't for some reason. Well I kick myself now! The album wasn't pulled, but redone with a slightly different cover.
I guess the usual suspects in controversial covers is:
The John & Yoko "Two Virgins" cover.
The original covers of "Electric Ladyland" and "Derek & the Dominos" (breasts on cover)
The original "Yesterday & Today" Beatles cover, with the Beatles seated with headless dolls and fresh cuts of meat.
The original cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Street Survivors" was changed after the plane crash that killed several members of the band (the cover showed members standing in flames).
The original cover of the Stones' "Some Girls" featured faces of living actresses, who threatened to sue the Stones for unauthorized usage of their images. So it was changed.

I read about Mom's Apple Pie too. Produced by Terry Knight, who produced Grand Funk. The new cover had the thingy bricked up.
Roxy Music had an album with two NICE looking girls in nothing but see through bras and panties.
Golden Earring had the lead singer naked from behind.
UFO's Force it, showed a man and woman.....um....FORCING IT.
There are some tamer ones, like Moby Grape's album with Bob Mosley or Skip Spence flipping the bird.
This was a billboard ad, but The Stones Black and Blue ad showed a girl in bondage.
There's a bunch more.

Wasn't Nirvana's Nevermind banned by some stores at the time? I seem to remember that?

"Nothing's Shocking" and "Ritual de lo Habitual" by Jane's Addiction. I'd also mention Spinal Tap's "Smell the Glove" if it actually existed.

Anyone remember the original cover of Three Dog Night's "Hard Labor" which showed a woman "giving birth" to a 33rpm album? It was later covered up with a bandaid(first stickered, later embossed--the copy I have). I saw the original in a box of albums at this HUMONGOUS flea market in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, didn't get it and have regretted it ever since... They also had an album in which they were pictured "nude"(actually wearing jockstraps and covered in orange dye)which was originally scheduled to be called "Wizards of Orange." When retailers objected, another photo was substituted and the album was retitled "It Ain't Easy."

I saw a copy of it about two weeks ago (this version had the embossed band aid) Too bad the vinyl was trashed.
