Oh man, I still remember getting this album. Well, all 6 of the Dave albums! Got em within about a year of each other. Started with 1984 Christmas of that year, got Fair Warning, Diver Down, then Van Halen.
Classic album to be sure. But being the big fan I am of theirs, this album has be driven into the ground a little since the Rock stations love to play so many of the cuts.
Still, a landmark heavy metal/hard rock album, no doubt.
Still love: Jamie's Cryin' Feel Your Love Tonight

I always thought Eddie Van Halen coulda been a phenomenal guitarist, but he squandered his potential and just settled for songs like "Running with the Devil", when he could've worked on more pieces like "Eruption". (and the synth work on "Jump"). How could he sit in the background behind Dave?

Hi Dawn:) Remember my brother buying this back in '78 / '79 and still remember hearing that intro to Running With The Devil for the first time - WOW! . Like Sat mentioned Classic Rock Radio has drove it into the ground , but you know what? I still love it! I added The CD to my collection back in around '95. Faves include: You Really Got Me , Jamie's Cryin' , Feel Your Love Tonight (dig those harmonies!) , Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love . I'm The One , Running With The Devil and Ice Cream Man.

Great album. Lotsa memories associated with this one. Even though a lot of the songs have been overplayed through the years, I never get tired of hearing 'em. I especially like Jamie's Crying, Running With the Devil, and Ice Cream Man.

In spite of that, it's still enjoyable to listen to - many of the songs are classics!

He was outstanding on tracks such as the ones you mentioned.

Oh, that 'Runnin'' intro rocks! This is such a consistent album, with many classics. 'Ain't Talkin' Bout Love' really cooks - I always want to crank that one! Next to 1984, this is my favorite album of theirs.

I especially like Jamie's Crying, Running With the Devil, and Ice Cream Man. I agree, Kathy - though overplayed, this album still stands up well. 'Ice Cream Man' is a great track, one I don't hear quite as often as the others.
