Love Bob Seger. This was the first Seger album I ever bought and I really wore it out. Lots of great songs here. I think maybe Night Moves was and maybe still is a little overplayed, but the other tracks make up for it. Another good choice. Favorites: Mainstreet, Ship of Fools, Sunspot Baby, Night Moves, Rock & Roll Never Forgets, Fire Down Below, Sunburst, Mary Lou. BTW - Mainstreet was written about Bob Seger's memories of a street in Ann Arbor, MI called Ann St. Just a little trivia for a Saturday morning.

Another good one! Two of my cousins were huge Seger fans so I heard albums like this one, Stranger in Town and Live Bullet quite a bit . I have Night Moves on cassette which I bought back in the early 80's.Another favorite of Classic Rock radio. Faves: Mainstreet , Sunspot Baby(a great song that makes you turn up the volume ;D, Come To Poppa , Mary Lou (great cover) , Rock and Roll Never Forgets , Ship Of Fools and Night Moves.

I agree with you about 'Night Moves' - although a great song, it has been a little overplayed through the years. That's interesting about 'Mainstreet' - I hadn't known that!

My mom was (and still is) a big fan of his, and like you I heard his music quite often when I was younger. I've noticed that Classic Rock stations where I live are starting to play more and more cuts from this album, especially 'Come to Poppa' and 'Rock and Roll Never Forgets'. I agree, 'Sunspot Baby' is a great song!

Absolutely love this album. Bob Seger's one of my favorite male singers. I have this album on vinyl, and listened to it constantly back in the day. I love every song on it--brings back memories of my teenage years.

I remember hearing 'Night Moves' and 'Mainstreet' often on the radio back in 1977, and hearing those songs always reminds me of that time.

As many songs as he has, I'm not big on Seger. But I admit, this is a classic.
HATE Fire Down Below, but I have gone through stages of liking Rock and Roll Never Forgets. Mainstreet is decent, and I think our station has picked up playing Sunspot Baby. Night Moves is probably the best tune. Don't own it, but like hearing it when it comes on.

I'm not as fond of 'Fire Down Below' as many of the other tracks. I've always loved 'Mainstreet', though - despite getting a lot of airplay, it and 'Night Moves' are still my favorite tracks from the album.
