Good choice Dawn!
I didn't realize how good the stuff on this album was until I got the box set. Of course, the three singles are EXCELLENT, with Edge of Seventeen pretty much becoming her signature solo tune, and one of my faves.
But I found out After the Glitter Fades is really good too.
The REAL gem, however is Outside the Rain. PURE Stevie, great background singing. If you are a fan of hers, you NEED to hear this song!!
Good album!

Stevie Nicks is one of my favorites, both in and out of Fleetwood Mac. I have all of her solo stuff, including her box set. This is a great album. I love all the singles from this one, and the "non-hits" are all good, too. I especially love Think About it, After The Glitter Fades, and Outside the Rain. Can't say enough about this album. It's one of my all time favorites. Lotsa fond memories of my younger days. Excellent choice!

Hi Dawn
Great Choice. I love Stevie Nicks, probably would have bought this album even if it was bad. The fact that it is a very, very good album made it better. The hits were good, the album tracks were great. I have this on vinyl, and it's almost wore out. Favorites: Belladonna, Stop Draggin' My Heart Around, After the Glitter Fades, Edge of Seventeen, Leather & Lace, The Highwayman, How Still My Love.

Hi Dawn:) I remember when this came out . I remember recording Edge Of Seventeen and Stop Dragging My Heart Around off the radio at the time(I'm a big Tom Petty Fan). I thought Leather and Lace was good too, those three are my faves:)

Good choice! LOVE "Draggin'", and Edge of Seventeen and the title song are great as well. Leather and Lace could be played less often, and never raved over "Glitter".

I agree, the single cuts are great, especially 'Edge of Seventeen'. It's such a powerful song lyrically as well as musically, and her vocals are superb on that one. You are absolutely right about 'Outside the Rain'! It's wonderful, and as you say, pure Stevie. I think that song could have done very well as a single!

She has such a unique quality to her voice, and such depth to her songwriting. I have her first two solo albums on vinyl, but I'd really like to get her box set.

This was definitely a very strong debut for her. Radio has always focused mainly on her hits, but there are many wonderful album cuts as well. A classic that still sounds just as great today as it did in 1981!

I thought Leather and Lace was good too, those three are my faves:) Hi Ken! I remember hearing 'Stop Draggin' My Heart Around' a lot in the summer of '81, and it always takes me back to that time. That's great that you are a fan of Tom Petty - he's recorded some terrific songs! Speaking of Tom, I heard his song 'Change of Heart' not long ago - it had probably been about 19 years since I'd last heard it! Great song - I was a little disappointed that it was left off his first greatest hits collection.

'Stop Draggin' My Heart Around' is great - both she and Tom do a fine job on it. It took me a little while to warm up to 'Glitter' - I'm not sure why, other than possibly because it was such a departure in style for her. I've grown to really like it, though - her songwriting was so strong on that one.
