To be honest, I'm a little burnt on this album. It's an all time classic, to be sure, but Life in the Fast Lane and the title cut have become TOO overplayed on classic rock radio.
My faves would be New Kid in Town and Victim of Love.
But like I said, it's a classic.

one of my all time faves. I agree Life in The Fast Lane is a little burnt. But I CANT get sick of Hotel California. Either version. And never hear New Kid In Town on Radio anymore

Love it! my oldest brother had the album when I was a kid , I bought the 45's of Life in The Fast Lane , Hotel California and New Kid in Town back in '76 / '77 . I bought the LP used back in '79 then when I started upgrading to CD I got it for Christmas back in ' 88(?). Including those listed above my faves are - Pretty Maids All In a Row(great vocal by Joe) , The Last Resort , Try and Love Again - among Randy Meisner's best tunes ,
Wasted Time and Victim of Love . Another fine pick Dawn:)

Another great album that I listened to constantly in my youth.  A definite classic! I think I actually like the album cuts better than the singles. Victim of Love, Try and Love Again, and The Last Resort are my favorites from this. |

Hi Dawn
Another good choice today. This album & Desperado are my favorite Eagles albums. You can Really hear the Joe Walsh influence on this album. I can never get tired of hearing Hotel California or New Kid in Town. Awesome songs. Other favorites: Life in Fast Lane, Wasted Time, Pretty Maids all in a Row, Try & Love Again.

As much as I like the title track, I agree with you that it's been overplayed through the years, as has 'Life in the Fast Lane'. 'Victim of Love' took a little while to grow on me, but it's since become one of my favorite songs from this album. |

And never hear New Kid In Town on Radio anymore You know, I very rarely hear 'New Kid in Town' on the radio either, and I can't figure out why, unless it's because it's a little more soft rock than 'Hotel' or 'Life'. Great album!New Kid in Town is my all time favorite Eagles song...never played enough,though. I've always loved 'New Kid in Town' - what a wonderful song! But as I mentioned to Gregg above, I very seldom hear it on the radio either, and that's a shame. |

Victim of Love, Try and Love Again, and The Last Resort are my favorites from this. This album and The Long Run are both great albums from this group, very consistent all the way through. As I mentioned to Sat, 'Victim of Love' wasn't a favorite of mine right away, but I've really grown to appreciate it more and more over the years - it's superb! |

Especially love the 3 hits, and "Victim of love" and the "Last Resort" are splendid, too.
