Got this album on vinyl as a sort of hand me down, when a neighbor was throwing it out. LOL
All I know are the hits here; Magic Man, Crazy on You and the slow and upbeat versions of the title cut. Prefer the upbeat one.
I have asked Kathy for recommendations, which she has given me, so I hope to get into more, because I really like Heart!

Hey Dawn:) - A fine debut . Heart recorded this in my hometown of Vancouver . When I was a kid I first thought that they were Canadian bacause they did spent quite a bit of time playing around town. I of course realized later that they were from Seattle.
I remember hearing Crazy On You and Magic Man many times on the radio back in '76 . I had "Crazy" on a Ktel compilation. I can't remember where I first heard the entire album? I think my next - door neighbor had a copy of it . I have a very nice copy on vinyl - I've seen some very worn copies over the years .
Faves : Dreamboat Annie , White Lightning and Wine , How Deep it Goes , Crazy On You , Magic Man , (Love Me Like Music) I'll Be Your Song and Sing Child (nice flute playing from Anne and killer Hendrix Like guitar playing from Roger Fisher).

Was this the same neighbor who had those Yes and Moody Blues albums? I've always been partial to the hits on this album. 'Crazy on You' is a great rocker, and my all-time favorite Heart song. And like you, I prefer the more upbeat 'Dreamboat Annie' over the slower one.

Hi Ken! This band has a really interesting history, and as you say, they spent quite a bit of time in Canada. I remember reading a story on them in a magazine I used to get back in the mid-to-late 70's called Supermag - it even had a mini-poster of the group! I wish I still had it! I have this album on vinyl also. You're right, it's getting harder to find classic LPs in good condition.

Love it. Heart is one of my all time favorite groups, and this is a great album. When I first heard "Magic Man" on the radio I was blown away, and HAD to go buy the album. I can remember begging my dad to take me to Sears (of all places) so that I could go buy the LP. I guess he was in a good mood that day, cuz he said yes. LOL! My friend Laura went along. She wanted to buy the album, too, but when we got there, there was only one copy left. I grabbed it up! My friend was disappointed, but I told her I'd make a tape of it for her. Wasn't that nice of me? ;D

I imagine Laura was pretty disappointed that day. But that was very nice of you to offer to make the tape!

Sorry I didn't answer yesterday. Great debut album by Heart (were there any bad ones), and they just got better. A couple of hits and some pretty good album cuts. Favorites: Dreamboat Annie, Crazy on You, White Lightning & Wine, Soul of the Sea, Magic Man, Sing Child.

Favorites: Dreamboat Annie, Crazy on You, White Lightning & Wine, Soul of the Sea, Magic Man, Sing Child. That's okay, dodger. I agree, this was a very strong debut for them. Their 70's and early 80's albums are solid through and through.
