I'll make up for missing yesterday by being the first today! (I will go back and do yesterday's as well!)
As much as I am not a big fan of his, this is a good one! The whole first side are well known songs! And tracks 2 & 3 are two of my faves of his.
I remember when we were kids, we were gonna order from Columbia House and we were gonna actually get this one (Odd since we were a singles household).
Good album, his best.

Great album! I remember hearing You May Be Right on the radio back in '80 and didn't believe at first it was Billy, just a great rocker! great drumming from Liberty Devito on that track - it is a great tune to play along with!
Bought the single right away and then a short time later the album and since then upgraded to CD.
There are some wonderful songs throughout Faves: You Maybe Right , Sleeping With The Television On , Close to The Borderline , Sometimes a Fantasy , All For Leyna and It's Still Rock and Roll to Me.

I agree that this is his best album. The singles are great, and there are some very solid album tracks as well. That's interesting that you should mention Columbia House. I remember a friend of mine ordered this album on 8-track from them back in the day.

'You May Be Right' is a great rocker, and I agree, it was something of a departure for him at that time. I remember hearing it often on the radio back then. 'Sometimes a Fantasy' is an excellent song that rarely gets airplay these days. All in all, a very good album!

Hey Dawn
Not a big Billy Joel fan anymore. Still have several of his albums (including this one), but I don't listen to them that much anymore.
This was one of his best. Several singles and some good album cuts.
Favorites: It's Still Rock & Roll to Me, All for Leyna, You May be Right, Don't Ask me Why, Sleeping with the Television On.

I was a junior in high school when this album came out, and I have many memories of sitting in my room listening to this album on my Lloyd stereo. LOL! Glass Houses is probably my favorite Billy Joel album, mainly because of the memories associated with it. I like every song on here. Good stuff!

Have this one and most of his 70's and early 80's stuff on vinyl. You May Be Right, Don't Ask Me Why and I Don't Want To Be Alone are my favorites.

I have a few of his albums (including his greatest hits), but this one is my favorite. 'It's Still Rock & Roll to Me' is such a classic. I love the lyrics about the wide ties and the whitewall tires! Hard to believe that song is 23 years old already!

I remember this album was very popular back in the day. These songs bring back lots of memories for me also, especially 'You May Be Right'. That song always reminds me of 6th grade - my favorite year!

I'll try to answer a few... No way could I pass this one up! Easily Billy's best--still have the vinyl from Xmas '80! Side 1 is just KILLER. Period. From Side 2, I best like "Borderline".

I agree, that first side is awesome! Four top 40 hits, back to back! 'Close to the Borderline' is a very good album cut!
