I was thinking of requesting this one; great choice!
Love the odd keyboard intro to Rikki--just a great song that never wears off on me. "Dude", "Barrytown" and "Logic" are other winners as well. But I have most of the cuts on their box set anyway.

Yet another fine album from Steely Dan . Bought the 45 of Rikki back then. Their musicianship was always just fantastic. One of the albums my oldest brother had (has) and played often.
Besides "Rikki" other faves include: East St. Toodle - Oo , Parker's band , Monkey in Your Soul , Any Major Dude Will Tell You and Pretzel Logic.

Another really good album by Steely! I think their first and last albums were ok, but their albums in between were all really excellent.
Before I had the box, all I knew was Rikki. But there are great songs on here, the best being the title cut. The first place I heard this (this is so weird) is from the Cryan' Shames doing it in concert! That's right, a 60's band from Chicago that never cracking the national top 40 covering a 70's jazz-rock song in the 90's! And then our classic rock station started playing it.
Also good-Night by Night, Any Major Dude Will Tell You, Barrytown, With a Gun, Monkey in Your Soul.
Better than the first two and last albums, not quite as good as Katy Lied, Royal Scam or Aja.

'Pretzel Logic' is wonderful also. One of these days I'd like to get that box set!

I've always loved 'Rikki', but didn't know many of the other cuts until I bought this LP about 4 years ago. This is one of my favorite Steely Dan albums - very jazz-influenced. Very solid all the way through!

I agree about 'Pretzel Logic' being one of the best cuts - I loved it from first listen. That is kind of unusual about the Cryan' Shames performing it! Did they do any other covers of Steely Dan songs? I need to investigate their music sometime. I've been really impressed with what I've heard so far.
