Another brilliant suggestion! How DO I come up with them?? Anyway, funny, this is the only pre-Waking the Neighbors album by him I DON'T have! I even have his first hard to get album. My ex was into him, so I picked up his stuff. So all I know is the three hits. But hey, they're good ones! First had This Time on a K-Tel collection. It was one of my main reasons for getting it. Went through times of liking and not liking the title cut. Straight From the Heart is a great ballad, possibly his best, since he re-wrote it as Heaven.....and Do I Have to Say the Words.....and Please Forgive Me.....LOL! Of course I have those three cuts on the greatest hits disc.

A fantastic album and the first one of Bryan's that I bought on good ol' vinyl back in '83 -I now have it on CD . I had picked up his 45 of Coming Home before this.
Memories of Grade 10 / 11 come to mind when I listen to it . I've always loved his band - Mickey Curry on drums - who If I remember correctly played with Hall and Oates before this and the great Keith Scott on lead guitar. I remember seeing the videos alot at the time for This Time and Cuts Like a Knife.
Faves - I'm Ready , The Only One , The Best Was Yet To Come ( written about Vancouver native and Playboy Playmate Dorothy Stratton),What's it Gonna Be , Straight From The Heart , Let Him Know and Take Me Back.

I heard that song on a disco radio show a few years back, and couldn’t believe it was the same Bryan Adams! Good song, but very different from his later work. The title cut is probably my favorite, although ‘This Time’ is good too. I was kinda undecided about ‘Straight from the Heart’ back in 1983, although it’s grown on me a lot over the years.

These songs always make me think of high school also! I seem to remember Bryan appearing on Solid Gold back then and singing one of these songs, although I’m not positive. I didn’t know that ‘The Best Was Yet to Come’ was written about Dorothy Stratton – that’s interesting! It’s a really nice song, very well-written and performed.

Hi Dawn -
Got this on a cassette somewhere, haven't listen to it in a while. Some pretty good songs on the album though. Favorites: Take Me Back, This Time, Cuts Like a Knife, Straight from the Heart
