I was gonna post this when I got the first deal, but I decided to wait, and I'm glad I did. I ended up with 8 deals on CD's!
First of all, a couple weeks back Coconuts had a deal where a bunch of CD's ending up being only $5 each after a mail in rebate. I thought they'd be all crappy ones, but they were all quality albums! Just as an example, every ABBA and every AC/DC album was in there! So anyway, I ended up getting AC/DC's Back in Black and U2 Best of 1980-1990. Two albums I always needed in my collection, but wouldn't have paid full price for. (They had rebates for DVD box sets too, and I got Rock and Bullwinkle 4 disc set for $5! You read that right!)
Then Foo Fighters new album came out with a price of $10. Not bad at all. Then I come to find out it's actually a 2 disc set, the second disc being all acoustic! Picked that up.
I've been wanting to make my own Genesis compilation, but I didn't want to leave off Eleventh Earl of Mar from Wind & Wuthering. Found it new (but under the "used & new" section) on Amazon for $4. With shipping it ended up being close to $7, but that's still less than what I'd pay at the store.
The past 2 weeks, K-Mart has had a deal when you use your Mastercard and a coupon, there was a bunch of CD's for $6. Again, these were quality albums like Tom Petty's GH and Aerosmith's Big Ones. I wanted Temptations Ultimate which was in the ad, but they didn't have it. I ended up getting Jackson 5 Essential collection. (I feel bad that money is going to that idiot.)
Offspring's Greatest Hits came out and like the Foo Fighters disc, was $10 everywhere. (Alas, this was only 1 disc)
Finally, I went to a garage sale that had TONS of CD's for a buck each. Unfortunately, I had most of the good ones! I was able to update Bekki's Garth Brooks' No Fences tape to disc (although the cover was a Xerox copy) and I picked up a cool thing for myself: A King Biscuit sampler disc with various artists including Kansas, Pat Benatar and Mountain!
Besides all that, I currently have the Nuggets box set out from the library. And my cousin's boyfriend lent me 7 Tears For Fears discs (including their latest), 5 Outfield discs and the new 2 disc Def Leppard collection!
WHEW! I gotta LOT of listening to do!!
