Now I have to say that when I first bought this album and plopped it in my CD player I was a bit disappointed. The first song "Moses" starts out with a stripped down acoustic guitar ... I've never been a huge fan of this style of music. I grew up in the 80's where everything was over-produced and listening to a singer and just their guitar seemed like it was "beneath" me.
I listened to the first couple of songs and almost just shelved it - simply to chaulk it up as a CD I "just wasted 14 bucks on". I can't stress how much I stayed away from the "folk"-styled music. Then I finally made it through to the end of the CD and got my first taste of the songs "Forgiveness" and "Not Alone" ... these two songs had enough to hook me into playing the CD non-stop for nearly two months ... I know I drove my wife nuts on this one. You see I tend to play a song over and over and well over again.
Once that happened the rest of the CD just opened up to me. "Moses" , "Let Him Fly", and "Every Little Bit" began to "grow" on me. It got to the point where I declared that I was going to learn to play several of the songs on the guitar. Of course I quickly realized that she was still a much better guitarists than I was willing to admit ... shoot at that time I couldn't even pretend to do a hammer-on or pull-off.
This whole album is nothing more than a girl, her guitar and her feelings ... if you ever get a chance to take a listen to this album, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Although, Patty's voice isn't in the category of Martina - she has pulled her way into the upper ranks in my book.

I just found that Bette Midler did a cover of "Moses" on her 2000 released album "Bette".
