Thought I'd give an update of recent library rentals:
Rolling Stones-England's Newest Hit Makers! Rolling Stones-12 X 5 Rolling Stones-Now! Eric Clapton-Eric Clapton Eric Clapton-There's One in Every Crowd Toadies-Rubberneck (for Possum Kingdom!) Nickel Creek-Why Should the Fire Die? (latest from this young bluegrass trio) Marvin Gaye-Anthology (2 disc set Pete recently had out) Lesley Gore-20th Century Masters (covers all the top 40 hits) Petula Clark-Anthology:Downtown to Sunset Boulevard (2 disc set that becomes overkill by the second-too many show tunes!) The Cure-Connect the Dots (box set I took out ONLY for the rare B side-A Few Hours After This)
There ya go!

Are these the new HDCD re-masters, or the old Abkco CD's?
Great collection, but missing 2 or 3 hits, believe it or not!
I should try to get this, as it has the RIGHT mix of "Look Of Love", which the "Golden Hits" CD does not..
This is the collection I just got. I pretty much just copied the hits, and didn't bother much with the second disc (Though I did copy a minor hit she had in '82 called "Natural Love" which is somewhat Country-flavored.)

Good stuff Adam. Wish my library had some Stones and some more Clapton.

Great finds! I checked out a Petula Clark collection from the library awhile back, and I've been trying to find Lesley Gore's, although it always seems to be checked out whenever I'm there - I'll have to have them put a hold on it.

I meant to respond to this a LONG time ago! Stones-Whenever possible, I always opt for the newest, remastered version of discs. More often than not, I have been successful with the Stones. I can't remember off hand, but I'm thinking "Newest Hit Makers" was the only "old" version of the three. I know this collection left off Sexual Healing. What's the difference in the mixes? And how do you know this one has the right one?

What's the difference in the mixes? And how do you know this one has the right one? The original 45 of "Look Of love" had sleigh bells in the mix, I believe. The version on "Golden Hits" does not. I listened to a clip on amazon (on the new collection), and found it had the sleigh bells.
