No doubt, Alan, that this song is right out of the Twilight Zone. It's always been right up there among my faves from this genre, however.
You Tube video is pretty hard to see anything, however.
-- and if you want to look at '70s stuff, don't forget David Geddes' "Run Joey Run."

I don't know how I missed out on this one, but this is the first time I've heard it. I read that Dickey started out at Sun records.

I don't know how I missed out on this one, but this is the first time I've heard it. I read that Dickey started out at Sun records. A '65 release, "Laurie" was based on the old "vanishing hitch-hiker" urban legend. Personally, I think the shadowy look of the lip-syncher adds to it, wot?  |

I never was a Billy Idol fan, and this cover did nothing to change my mind. I've always liked the Jody reynolds original, though. |

I'm very familiar with this one. I haven't heard Billy's cover in a very long time. Marshall Crenshaw has also covered the song at live gigs (I have a version on DVD) and does an excellent job  |
