This is obviously one of VH-1's favorites--they play it so much. Coincedentally, it's also one of my favorites as well.
Great music! But it is rather depressing in some points. I remember from "real life" that there really was a battle with David Ruffin over whether or not to call the group David Ruffin and...
And I tell ya! Not only did the actor playing Mr. Ruffin LOOK like him, he had all his moves down too! I have a copy of the Temptations singing "My Girl" on Ed Sullivan and one of them singing it on "Shindig" and he has THE MOVES down SOLID! They all do!
But so much talent and such a sad, sad ending! (Btw, is Otis Williams still living? Last I heard he and Dennis Edwards each had their own version of The Temps touring the country)
Now...
What do YOU think of this movie??

I like the movie as well, but I never seem to see it all the way through. VH1 doesn't seem to like it as much as the Jacksons movie.
If I'm not mistaken, Otis is the only original member still alive. Not sure about Dennis Edwards.

I thought it was a fine movie. I taped it off VH-1 a couple of months ago. I remember reading that some "purists" were upset because the movie was told from Otis Williams' point of view, and he was a "minor" Temptation (never sang lead). -- like -- who cares? I think Otis is the only ORIGINAL Temp still alive.

I think it's a good idea to have the movie from Otis Williams' point of view. One of the "major" Temptations would be more likely to have a distorted view of the goings-on in the group due to their bigger egos. ;D
