Ides Of March-Still would like to hear more of their stuff. I love that Chicago, Blood Sweat & Tears style, so I'd probably love them. Billy Idol- I Could never stand his version of Mony Mony, but White Wedding, Eyes Without A Face, Flesh For Fantasy, Blue Highway, and Dancing With Myself are all great! Impressions-I know about 3 of their hits, but not enough to form an opinion. Curtis Mayfield is great, though! James Ingram-I think he did that song with Michael McDonald, "Yah Mo Be There". I like that one, but it's all I know. The early 80's R&B ballad singers (Ingram, Luther, Teddy, Al Jareau) I get them all mixed up. Not bad music, just nothing I'm an expert on. INXS-My favorite today! Shabooh Shoobah is my FAVORITE album by them! Don't Change, The One Thing, Original Sin, some of the stuff off Kick (which I remember being HUGE in '88)... All great tunes!! Ides-hard to find, as the original versions of the songs were never available til a local DJ here put them out on now out of print CDs!

Hi Adam:) The Ides of March - The only tune I'm familiar with is Vechicle - but what a song! , a great track from beginning to end. Billy Idol -When we were in High - School two of my best buddies were huge Billy Idol fans(they bought everything 12" singles ,LP's etc, so Rebel Yell was played lots - LOL . White Wedding was the first song I heard. I have a promotional LP of Rebel Yell , the 45 of White Wedding as well as his 1990 CD Charmed Life which was the last good thing that he did after that it was all downhill. Faves: Catch My Fall , Eyes Without a Face , White Wedding , Dancing With Myself , The Right Way , Blue Highway , Hot in The City , Cradle of Love and Flesh For Fantasy. Impressions - I dont know much by them either but I respect them and they deserve their spot in the R &R Hall of Fame RIP Curtis Mayfield. Faves - It's Alright. James Ingram - Never really did to much for me. INXS - Another band my friends really liked . The Original Sin was the song that introduced me to them back in '83 / '84 . They had some great songs and yes KICK did have it's fair - share of airplay . Faves: The Original Sin , Listen like Thieves , Kiss The Dirt , Never Tear Us Apart , What You Need (great drumming!) , New Sensation , Elegently Wasted and The One Thing I can picture you liking the Ides other stuff Ken! Cradle of Love was an EXCELLENT video!

Ides of March - Don't know any other song by them except Vehicle, which is a pretty good song
Billy Idol - One of the few 80s artists I really like. Got a couple of albums on vinyl. Not as much of a fan as I used to be. Actually should be serving hard time for Mony, Mony. Favorites: Eyes Without a Face & Hot in the City
Impressions - Kind of a 2nd or 3rd tier soul group. Didn't make much of an "impression" on me though. Favorites: Gypsy Woman and It's All Right
James Ingram - a ho-hum artist, never really liked him.
INXS - I've got a CD by them (don't ask which one), I think it was on sale and I though I would like them. Didn't.

Here I do it again!
Ides of March-I've heard some of their minor hits, but man, do I LOVE "Vehicle"!
Billy Idol-beat out INXS as my fave of the five. Wonderful high school memories, I should be getting his greatest hits CD shortly. Every tune he did was a winner! Faves: White wedding (Parts 1 and 2) Cradle of love Eyes without a face Mony mony (live version ONLY) Hot in the city (was in my "80's oblivion" battle) Flesh for fantasy Shock to the system Don't need a gun Rebel yell Dancing with myself (Sweat, sweat, sweat, SWEAT!) Catch my fall (Rebel yell was his best album) L.A. woman Heroin and much more...
Impressions-I wish more people knew their music WELL. Still ranked among Billboard's top 100 POP artists of the rock era, and one of the biggest R & B acts too. Jerry Butler started with the group, and had a FINE doo-wop hit "For your precious love" in 1958. Then throughout the 60's Curtis Mayfield pretty much WAS the group. Super tunes! Faves: It's all right We're a winner Keep on pushing For your precious love People get ready Finally got myself together (1974, without Curtis) Talking about my baby Gypsy woman Amen (often played as a Xmas tune) You must believe me Choice of colors Fool for you I'm so proud This is my country Check out your mind Woman's got soul Can't satisfy (sounds EXACTLY like the Isleys' "This old heart of mine", but who cares? ;D)
James Ingram-he's all right, but not a singer I'd hear every day. Somehow I liked "100 ways" but not "Just once". Also like duets with Linda Ronstadt (Somewhere out there), Michael McDonald (Yah mo B there), and especially Patti Austin (Baby come to me). But I DETEST "I don't have the heart"!
INXS-awesome Aussie band! Everything they did was wonderful! Still more high school memories, especially "Kick" in my senior year. RIP Michael. Faves: Need you tonight/Mediate Devil inside What you need New sensation Disappear Not enough time The one thing Beautiful girl Never tear us apart Suicide blonde Good times (w/Jimmy Barnes) This time Bitter tears Listen like thieves Guns in the sky Original sin etc...

Impressions-I can NOT believe that NO ONE mentioned **JERRY BUTLER** here!!! Anyway, my favorite songs of theirs are "It's Alright". "People Get Ready", "Gypsy Woman", and to no one's surprise my VERY favorite is "Amen" ;D--and of course, "For Your Precious Love"--featuring my fave, Jerry, on lead. Now that I have righted that (GROSS) injustice, on to the others... ("But It's All Right..." ) Ides of March: Well, I only know the one song, and unlike most people it seems, I ENJOYED hearing it in that car commercial! Btw, while looking for a copy of that song to download, we found a version by Blood, Sweat, and Tears as well, and downloaded it too...They're version IS very similiar, yet JUST different enough that you can tell it IS a different version--and not just a mis-labeled artist title (Which happens FAR too often, imo) James Ingram->>To me, one of countless soul singers in the 80s that did nothing for me<< Interesting... Meanwhile, he's one of the few new artists *I* actually HEARD back in the 80s. (LOL!) I like "One Hundred Ways", "Ya Mo Be There" and "Baby Come to Me" (Especially the last one!) Btw: Did you know that he got his start singing (lead in)commercials? (Once upon a time I could've named one for ya...)
