The first one today is a request from Kathyb. Happy to do it Kath! And after that one, it's Jackson day! Chris Isaack-Don't know anything by him other than that, "No, I........don't want to fall in love" which I don't like at all. SORRY KATH!!! Janet Jackson-80s dance music is not my style at all. But, I've gotten used to a few songs through my wife. Despite being a mostly country fan now, she still keeps her Janet records. Not quite the idiot her little brother is. Talented dancer, but I think we have Paula Abdul to thank for that. Nice voice, nothing spectacular. I don't pop in her disc, although we have it. Faves-Runaway, When I Think of You, Pleasure Principle. Jermaine Jackson- I thought I only knew Dynamite, but looking at his Hot 100 hits, I do remember Let's Get Serious. Dynamite and subsequent singles probably would have done better had they not been released at the height of Thriller! Fave-Dynamite. Joe Jackson-The Jackson father turned white and became a pianist! Kidding, of course. This guy sorta changed styles along the way. Is She Really Going....was almost new wave punk. But then Steppin' Out and Breakin' Us in Two was jazzy. I got the Steppin' Out single when it came out, and then went through a LONG period of denial where I HATED the song. I have come full circle and love it again. LOVE the piano on it. And my aunt (the It Must Be Love one) had that LP, and I discovered Another World, great album track. (Discovered both of those tunes making a tape for my aunt & uncle's anniversary. Learned a LOT of great music then, including some good Stills stuff) Anyway, I like Joe, and want to get his 2 disc collection. Faves-Steppin' Out, Another World, Is She Really Going Out With Him? Michael Jackson-What a screwup. To me, this guy peaked on Never Can Say Goodbye with his brothers. Ok, I do really like his two disco tunes from Off the Wall. But since then HE has gone OFF THE WALL. SO sick of Thriller. Don't like Beat it, Billie Jean or the title track. I guess I did at the time, but I would rather hear PYT or Human Nature. Is Sir Paul kicking his own ass over doing Say Say Say? If not, I'd be happy to do it for him. Faves-Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough, Rock With You, Human Nature. Ok, your turn!

Chris Isaak - I've heard of him, but I don't think I know any of his songs.
Janet Jackson - I'm not a huge fan, but I like some of her music. I remember when she used to appear on Diff'rent Strokes years ago. Favorites: When I Think of You, Nasty, Let's Wait Awhile.
Jermaine Jackson - I had never really given much thought to my opinion of him before, but I actually like just about every major hit of his. There was a point when I disliked 'Do What You Do', but it's grown on me since. Favorites: Dynamite, Tell Me I'm Not Dreamin', Let's Get Serious, Do What You Do, I Think It's Love.
Joe Jackson - An artist I probably need to investigate more closely. I have his Night and Day cassette, but haven't listened to it in awhile. Very versatile musical stylist. Favorites: Steppin' Out, Breaking Us in Two, You Can't Get What You Want.
Michael Jackson - What a shame about this guy. He's quite talented, but he's ruined his reputation by poor life choices. I must say I absolutely loved his Thriller album back in the day, and still do, but I'm not too fond of his later material. Favorites: Billie Jean, Beat It, Rock With You, Thriller, Off the Wall, Say Say Say, Don't Stop Til You Get Enough.

Chris Isaack - Not really familiar with his music
Janet Jackson - Can't recall anything by her that I liked
Jermaine Jackson - Let's Get Serious was ok
Joe Jackson - Pretty good British artist. I was living in England when Is She Really Going Out With Him came. Got lot's of airplay, and it's a pretty good song. Got two albums on vinyl, "Look Sharp" and "Night & Day." Both not bad. Favorites: Is She Really Going Out, Sunday Papers, Look Sharp, Steppin' Out.
Michael Jackson - A really talented guy who has thrown it all away by becoming more & more bizarre as the years go by. All those great songs with his brothers and all those great songs as a solo artist in the 70s. Thriller will undoubtedly be one of the biggest selling albums ever (I have it on cassette). But Michael is just to weird for me to listen to anymore. Favorites: Got to be There, Ben, Rock With You, Billie Jean, Farewell My Summer Love.

Here We Go:) Chris Isaak -I really like his TV show alot - very funny ;D I don't know that many songs but here are my faves: American Boy(TV Theme) , Somebody's Crying , Let Me Down Easy and Go Walking Down There. Janet Jackson -I remember seeing her on Good Times . She is talented but she's not my style either. I didn't like her sampling of Joni's Big Yellow Taxi - it gets on my nerves. If I had To pick a song for a fave? I guess it would be Black Cat Jermaine Jackson - I really don't remember anything by him. Joe Jackson - LOL! - I really like alot of his songs. I remember hearing Is She Really Going Out With Him, I'm The Man , Breaking Us in Two and Stepping Out when they first came out and recording them off the radio . Faves: Kinda Kute (his spelling ,not mine ;D) , Is She Really Going Out With Him? , I'm The Man , Sunday Papers , Stepping Out , On The Radio and Breaking Us in Two. Michael Jackson - I'm really tired of Thriller , and didn't really care for much after that. Although I really like The Jackson Five material and his late 70's stuff - Faves: Don't Stop Til You Get Enough , Rock With You

Hey, Sat. I'm actually at home this PM following a dentist appt. so I've got my trusty Whitburn with me and can sound like I actually know something. Chris Isaack- Sat, I'm surprised you don't knpw that Chris Isaak is a singer, songwriter, guitarist and actor. He appeared in Married to the Mob, Silence of the Lambs, and Little Buddha. He cracked the Top 40 one time with the million seller "Wicked Game" (featured in the movie "Wild at Heart"). The song charted in January 1991, and peaked at #6. -- And I've never heard the song. Janet Jackson - I can't stand Janet Jackson, and avoid her music whenever I can. I'm familiar with several songs of hers, and can barely tolerate Control and When I Think of you. I prefer Weird Al's polka version of Miss You Much. Faves: None. Jermaine Jackson- Other than "Daddy's Home, where he didn't come close to matching the eloquence of Shep and the Limelights, I like the rest of Jermaine's hits, especially Let's Get Serious and I Think it's Love. Good soul sound. Joe Jackson- Only familiar with Steppin Out, and didn't like it much. Michael Jackson- What a voice he has - or had. Two of his ballads rank in my all time Top 250: Ben and She's Out of My Life. I also really like Billie Jean. Many of his up tempo sounds are quite good also. But the guy (he IS a guy, right?) is SO-O-O-o nutso that it detracts from the enjoyment of the music. And his pedophilia really should put him in jail! Now- when are you going to review my favorite cd: "Frank Ifield sings the best of Kate Smith" ;D

I wouldn't say I don't know him. In fact-I know how Wicked Game goes, it's the song I referenced, so to you! LOL! I heard that song, and it was MORE than enough. I know he had a show on HBO and I know some people have the wrong idea that he sounds like Roy Orbison. The fact that the whole pediophile thing got swept under the carpet like nothing pisses me off. That'll be over on the album board. ;P

Thanks for listing Chris, Sat. My favorite today. Chris Isaak--The epitome of cool. I love this guy. I have 5 of his CD's: Always Got Tonight, Forever Blue, Heart Shaped World, San Francisco Days, and Speak of the Devil. Very, very talented. Reminds me of Roy Orbison. Seriously, he has some d**n fine songs, some of my favorites include Go Walkin' Down There, Don't Make Me Dream About You, Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing, Somebody's Crying, Graduation Day, Speak of the Devil, many many more. Give him a listen sometime. You'll find there's more to him than just "Wicked Game". Janet Jackson--Some songs of hers I like, some I can't stand. I have mixed feelings about her. She's talented enough, but just seems to me like her image and dance moves are more important than the music. Some friends of mine went to see her in concert a couple of years ago, and wanted me to go along. Tickets were like, 75 bucks, so I said no thanks. Not really into paying that much money just to watch somebody dance to pre-recorded music and lip-sync for 2 hours. LOL! Jermaine Jackson--Must be tough to be in his little brother's shadow all these years. I do enjoy a few of his songs. Had the 45's of Let's Get Serious, and Do What You Do. Joe Jackson--Never really a big fan. My brother was into him big time, and I got kinda tired of hearing his music blaring thru the house when I was younger. I do like Is She Really Going Out with Him, though. Reminds me of Junior High School, when this one group of guys would sing it at the top of their lungs while walking thru the school hallway whenever they'd see some hot girl walking with some nerdy guy. LMAO! Michael Jackson--I loved Off the Wall and Thriller. Couldn't get enough of either of those albums back in the day. Also loved him in the Jackson Five way back when. Then, he went nuts and totally screwed up his life, and his career, not to mention his nose. He's definitely "Wacko Jacko" these days.

Chris Issac-He got a lot of play on alternative stations before "Wicked Game" became a hit. But what type of music is he? He seems influenced by Elvis a lot.. My last girlfriend liked him, but she mostly listened to goth/industrial music. I did like his show, though.
Janet Jackson-"Runaway" is good. I have her "Decade" CD for that one song. When I was in High School, all the cheerleaders listened to her, so basically I just see her as "chick music". (No offense to the ladies...)
Jermaine Jackson-He did some good hits, including one with Devo, "Let Me Tickle Your Fancy".
Joe Jackson-My Fave today. I have his Greatest Hits CD (the cover looks like the Frampton Greatest Hits, only blue instead of red). He's changed styles SO many times and always comes up with interesting stuff. When I first saw a picture of him, I thought he looked like Bing Crosby. Faves: Look Sharp, Right & Wrong, Sunday Papers, Got The Time, Steppin' Out, Breakin' Us In Two, You Can't Get What You Want, Friday, I'm The Man....
Michael Jackson-I kinda feel bad for the guy. He has no idea how screwed up he really is. I blame his abusive father for a lot of it.. Aside from that his best stuff was with the Jacksons (are we going to do them as a group tomorrow?). I do like "Off The Wall" a lot, and "Thriller" did have some good songs (Human Nature, P.Y.T.), but nothing he's done since really did much for me...

No, Chris Isaak does not sound like Roy Orbison. But -- he sounds MORE like Roy than anyone else I've ever heard. That speaks to how unique Orbison's voice was.

Chris Isaak - I was hoping you'd list him. I like him very much. He's amazing to see play live. His "San Francisco Days" album is awesome. And did I forget to mention that he HOT! wooo... Faves: Two Hearts, Can't Do A Thing, 5:15, Blue Spanish Sky, Somebody's Cryin, Baby Did A Bad Bad Thing, Blue Hotel Janet Jackson - Outstanding career. I just love her but I'd have to say that I never listen to her stuff. Doesn't mean I don't like it though. Faves: Pleasure Principle, If, Love Will Never Do, Got Til It's Gone Jermaine Jackson - I really only remember "Let's Get Serious" and my reply is - No, I'd rather not. Joe Jackson - Now we're talking. I learned to love Joe from my mother who is fanatical about him. Also a great performer live. Faves: It's Different For Girls, Steppin Out, I'm The Man, Me & You Against The World Michael Jackson - His talent is wasted because he's such a mega-freak. I love love love the entire Off The Wall album however and I always will. Faves: Workin' Day & Night, Off The Wall, Don't Stop Til You Get Enough, P.Y.T, Ben, You Can't Win (from "The Wiz")

Here I go... Chris Isaak--his voice rather gets on my nerves, and unlike 70's soft rock, he just doesn't change the world for me. "Wicked game" is all right. Janet Jackson--From my high school years to recently, always got into her music. A most talented dancer, unforgettable videos such as "Control"! Amazingly at first, I didn't rave over her debut top 40 hit "What have you done for me lately", but it's grown on me somewhat. Even my mom likes her talent! Faves: Nasty (boys) (should rank in my top 200) Miss you much Diamonds (with Herb Alpert) Control Because of love Rhythm nation Someone to call my lover (LOVE the "Ventura highway" sample) When I think of you Alright Come back to me Again (pretty ballad) Way too many others... Jermaine Jackson--He doesn't seem to get the repect he used to, and maybe, just MAYBE, that's a GOOD thing! ;D Like his voice even more than Michael's, and have quite a few 45's of his. A keeper. Faves: Let's get serious (written and produced by Stevie Wonder) Tell me I'm not dreaming Daddy's home Dynamite I think it's love Let me tickle your fancy Do you remember me Close enough to perfect That's how love goes I'm just too shy You're supposed to keep your love for me Don't take it personal Never raved over "Do what you do", especially the SAPPY single remix! Joe Jackson--and I have a 1-CD compilation of his! Great to hear an artist doing so many different styles. Not the best voice, but his versatility more than makes up for it. Faves: Steppin' out (I've ALWAYS LOVED it!) Is she really going out with him You can't get what you want Breaking us in two Jumpin' jive Look sharp It's a beautiful night for girls (I think that's the title) Be my number two Nineteen forever Right or wrong Happy ending Memphis I'm the man Others, I'm sure... Michael Jackson--I could write a book on him, but I'll hold off. My fave artist here, and despite objections from others, he truly desrves the title "King of pop". I refuse for all my life to even THINK of his personal life, I simply just LOVE his music. Ever since I was a toddler, I couldn't get enough of him. I will probably write about the Jackson 5 upcoming , but as for his solo stuff, he is ROYALTY. Faves (by album): Michael Jackson- Rockin' robin Got to be there I wanna be where you are Best of (released 1975)- Just a little bit of you (The kid voice started to go!) Off the wall- Rock with you Don't stop till you get enough Off the wall Working day and night Burn this disco out She's out of my life Thriller-(ALL of them!) Bad-(ALL of them) Especially LOVE "Another part of me" Dangerous- Black or white Heal the world Remember the time Jam Will you be there (my mom's fave of his) In the closet Who is it Dangerous HIStory- You are not alone Scream (with Janet) (Hated by many, but I still LOVE it!) Childhood Blood on the dance floor (on his remix album) and... 2001's "Invincible" album--one of my top 21st century albums so far! 2000 watts (KILLER!) Speechless (PRETTY ballad) You rock my world Butterflies (great 80's retro feel) Cry You are my life Break of dawn Heaven can wait Invincible
