Jan & Dean-They were definitely a band you could listen to on a nice sunny day at the beach. I liked them a lot.
Jay & the Americans-Yep...I remember these guys. I recall liking them too.
Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship/Starship-Back in the 1960's, when "White Rabbit" was released, these guys were cool. A little depressing, but okay. Then when they changed to Starship, I found them kind of lame and cheesy. Though, "Sara" was a great song.
Jethro Tull-I have heard some of Jethro Tull's hits. Not exactly a metal fan, but I think they had some decent hits.
Jets-Yeah...that's typical '80's cheese, but I grew up on it! (LOL) You should see some of the cassettes from 1987 and 1988 that I own. The Jets, T'Pau, Debbie Gibson...memories. ;D (But, they also had Kylie too). But, as for the Jets...well...didn't like them much.

I still can't believe I missed this yesterday. Here We Go:) Jan and Dean - Remember watching the TV movie Dead Man's Curve a few times . Loved quite a few of the hits . Poor Jan , one of Rock music tragic stories . Faves: Shlock Rod , Surf City(my cousins and I LOVED this when we were kids), Dead Man's Curve , The Little Old Lady From Pasadena and Ride The Wild Surf. Jay and The Americans - A fine 60's Pop vocal band . Powerful vocals especially on Cara Mia (Wow!) - Faves - Cara Mia , This Magic Moment and Come a Little Bit Closer . Jefferson Airplane , Jefferson Starship , Starship - Grace was sure easy on the eyes in the 60's and 70's . I've mentioned before back at YL that when I was a kid I won a Jefferson Airplane poster at my local fair as a kid and at the time had no idea who they were. My brother told me about them - it was a very cool poster I really wish I still had it ,it was tinted purple - very psychedelic indeed. I wasn't a huge Airplane fan but I do have Surrealistic Pillow on vinyl which IMO is their best - Faves White Rabbit , Somebody To Love , Embryonic Journey , Crown of Creation , Count On Me , Sara , Miracles , Jane , Find Your Way Back,Winds of Change and Sara (I never got tired of hearing it) Jethro Tull - I've never been a big fan although I have to admit that Ian sure can play a mean flute. They've never done much for me . Faves: Bungle in The Jungle (I have the 45) and Teacher. Jets - The name sounds familiar but I'm drawing a blank.

T'Pau's Heart and Soul is a guilty pleasure for me!

Jan & Dean-I will spare you this time from the story of my sister and her ex running into them (Sort of) at Dizzyland Instead I will say that their music ALWAYS reminds me of summer days--skating and skateBOARDING (When my brother wasn't home--since it was HIS board) on the sidewalk and the street in front of our house (AND our driveway!)... Jay & the Americans- The next Doo wop special DVD I plan to buy is the one where he sings. I saw the special when it ran and he still sounded GREAT!!! "This Magic Moment" is my fave... Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship/Starship-Strangly I liked them better as "Starship" (But I still don't think they were the same group!) Jethro Tull: One of the VERY few groups my husband actually likes. As for my faves: I guess I'll say "Bungle..." (The E-z one, natch!)

Hey- I skipped this post. Glad I found it. Some good groups here.
Jan & Dean- Great duo. Love their music. Considered second to the Beach Boys - this is true, but they had the sound first. Jennie Lee was Jan, Dean and Arnie Ginsburg (not the Boston DJ of the same name) and was actually recorded as "Jan and Arnie" l Love that song, even though I could never understand the lyrics. Ither faves include: Baby Talk, Little Old Lady from Pasedena, Heart and Soul (not a bad version - nearly doo wop), Honolulu Lulu, Ride the Wild Surf, and the sadly prophetic Dead Man's Curve.
Jay & the Americans- No, Sat. Definitely not Orbison, but a decent sound nonetheless. She Cried was led by Jay Traynor. Their other hits were lead by Jay Black. Faves include: Lets Lock The Door, Come A Little Bit Closer, and She Cried. Decent cover of the Drifters This Magic Moment. And I totally agree with Sat's assessment of Walkin In The Rain - Blows the Ronettes away!
Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship/Starship- Some great music over the years. Faves include Somebody To Love, Jane, We Built This City, and my all time Starship fave: Miracles.
Jethro Tull- Like Bungle In The Jungle. That's about it.
Jets- Only familiar with You Got It All. Love it.
