Whoops, I did mean "Only love is real". But Our Love is Real sounds like a title of some other song! Can't think of by who though.

Howdy, Sat! Dave, great suggestions, especially Keith! Jewel: Very fine lady. Never gets too hard, and that's what I like most about today's music. I best like "Who will save your soul" and "Foolish games". R. Kelly: Not too bad, maybe a little risque, and pushes the envelope on personal issues. But I really like the Celine Dion duet, as well as "I believe I can fly". Keith: YAAAYYYY!!!!! I LOVE his "98.6" album-a real collector's item! Sounds quite a bit like me back in the days! In addition to the 3 hits (98.6...I just love, love, love this so much after 36 1/2 years!), also like "Teeny bopper song", "Mind if I hang around", and "You'll come running back to me". A most pleasing presence on the pop charts during the 1966-67 season. Ben E. King: Quite good. Again, the biggest hits were the best! Carole King: Fine, fine, just super fine. Singer and songwriter extraordinaire. Gave so many 60's hits like "Take good care of my baby" and "Will you love me tomorrow" such a wonderful feel. And her singing is so pleasing; everyone should have the "Tapestry" album. A great, no-nonsense live performer. BR Hey "Brer". I agree, everyone needs to own Tapestry!

I did see that Carole King concert. I was wondering, too, what Slash was doing there. Joni Mitchell and Blackie Lawless. LOL! I have the concert on tape! The Carole King one, not Joni and Blackie.

OK, Sat. I'm gonna try to reply to your opinion posts of the past week over this weekend. Since I clicked on this one first, I'll start here. Jewel- Saw her sing on TV a couple of times, but not really familiar with her. R. Kelly- Not very familiar with his music. I do know "I'm Your Angel" from a Celine Dion ( ) cd that I burned for my wife for her birthday last year. Not impressed. Keith- I'm only familiar with 98.6 also. In fact I was surprised that he had other hits. I'm gonna check out Ain't Gonna Lie. 98.6 is a great song. Ben E. King- It's funny, because I find Stand By Me to be his worst song either with the Drifters OR solo. I didn't like it even BEFORE it started getting overplayed because of the movie. (BTW why did they even call that movie Stand By Me? It had nothing to do with the movie.) I like most of King's other work, however. I won't go into his Drifters stuff here, but my fave King solo is I (Who Have Nothing) - it's Top 100 for me. Also like Amor and Spanish Harlem. Carole King- Superstar!! I love It Might As well Rain Until September (even though the first time I heard it I thought it was Bobby Vee.). Other faves: It's Too Late, One Fine Day (excellent cover), So Far Away, Jazzman, Smackwater Jack. H2, you did a FINE job of catching up! LOL! Usually it's a male artist that sounds like a female artist! LOL!

[glow=red,2,300]Jewel-I saw her on the Today Show a while back and she was okay...Who Will Save Your Soul is my fave too. I don't like her enough to buy an album, though. R. Kelly-same here. All I have heard of his is I Believe I Can Fly. I wasn't really into it either, and the song was pretty overplayed. Keith-I like the song 98.6, and that's the only thing I have heard by him that I am aware of. Ben E. King-I like Stand By Me and Spanish Harlem too. I have Stand By Me Downloaded but I don't listen to it that often. Carole King-The only thing I have heard by her is I Feel the Earth Move...from what I have heard by her she has a greast voice though.[/glow] If you get a chance, check out more from Carole King! If you liked that one, you will probably like her others!

[glow=green,2,300]Jewel- I really am diggin' her new hit "Intuition". It's the only song that doesn't really depress me. I mean, Jewel's a great artist, but it's about time she did something upbeat!
R. Kelly-Another artist that I like a current hit from...that being "Ignition". I think he's pretty talented, despite his legal problems lately.
Keith-The only hit I know is 98.6...it's pretty decent.
Ben E. King-Unfortunately, the only song I know by him is "Stand By Me"...and I remember it re-charting on the Top 40 charts in 1987.
Carole King-Anybody who can write a song for the babysitter must have talent in my books! (Little Eva's Loco-Motion). I think she was a genius, who created some of the 1970's biggest hits!
[/glow] Intuition, Ignition, what's next, Inhabition??

What is Jewel's new song like? It's like extremely, extremely pop-ish. And she used to folk pop.
