Some more! Little Richard-Similar to Jerry Lee in that he didn't have a monstrous amount of huge hits, but was very influential and will be remembered also for his style and flamboyency. I mean, some of his songs, like Lucille and Ready Teddy, didn't even crack the top 20! But his stuff was so influential the Beatles AND Elvis covered him! Having said all that, he's not an artist I listen to (but still respect him). Faves-Keep a Knockin', Good Golly, Miss Molly, Lucille. Little River Band-Here is a band that I always liked their hits, but it took me years of listening to the Greatest Hits to realize, I LOVE this band! LOL! Never the type of group to be respected by the critics, I think they made pleasant Beatles-like pop (George Martin produced many records). Saw them twice at local fests (once got a bonus when the lead singer of Player was with them and they did Baby Come Back!). This was THE band in the late 70s, early 80s of AM pop! Faves-Lady, Reminiscing, Cool Change, Help is on it's Way, Lonesome Loser. Live-I really dug their Throwing Copper CD. Didn't hear much after that, other than The Dolphin Song, which was a decent tune. They didn't seem to get the exposure and airplay after Copper. They probably coulda been bigger. Faves-I Alone, Selling the Drama, All Over You. LL Cool J-In my attempt to include ALL types of music (especially because I am heavy on the country stuff), I am including LL. The biggest impact on my life is his style of wearing sweatpants. Whenever my daughter is wearing her PJ's, one pant leg always gets pushed up, and we call her LL. As far as his singing, I know three tunes, but don't think much of them. Just not my style. Fave-Mama Said Knock You Out (Which also reminds me of my daughter-when she was a couple months old, we used to make her box to the song! LOL!) Lobo-From that who singer/songwriter era. Pleasant inoffensive stuff. Nothing that will be remembered greatly. Funny how I know Where Were You.... which DIDN'T crack the top 20, but not his third top 10 hit! Faves-Where Were You When I Was Falling in Love, I'd Love You to Want Me, Me and You and a Dog Named Boo. And you?

Little Richard-Definitely a wonderful artist! I really liked "Good Golly Miss Molly".
Little River Band- Sadly, I didn't really care for these guys.
Live-I agree with you over the lack of airplay LIVE received. I too, have the "Throwing Copper" CD. In Canada, they had quite a few more singles around '96, '97, but I can't recall any of them. I think one was "Lakini's Juice", but I can't be certain. "I Alone" and "Lightning Crashes" would be my favourites here.
LL Cool J-MAMMA SAID KNOCK YOU OUT!!!!! ;D He was great back in the late '80's and early '90's, but I HATE that song that he did with J.Lo.
Lobo-I can't seem to replay any of their hits in my brain...wonder why that is?

Little Richard - Another legend who tickled the ivories. Another artists who probably scared a lot of parents in the 50s. But he wasn't so bad. I like him. Favorites: Tutti-Frutti, Long Tall Sally, Keep a Knockin', Good Golly Miss Molly.
Little River Band - Have several albums on vinyl & the Greatest Hits CD. They had a number of top 40s, but only 3 top 10s. Didn't care much for their stuff from 80s. Definately a 70s almost lite rock band, but they could kick it up if they needed to. Favorites: Help is on the Way, Reminiscing, Lonesome Loser
Live - ?
LL Cool J - Don't like him, no favorites
Lobo - Actually didn't mind Lobo. Harmless AM pop of the early 70s. Have an album on vinyl by him. Probably on the 2nd or 3rd tier of singer/songwriters. Favorites: Me, You, & a Dog Named Boo, How Can I tell Her, I'd Love You to Want Me.

Little Richard - An artist whom I tremendously respect for his contribution and influence, but one I've never investigated much beyond his more popular hits. He definitely has a unique vocal style - very intense. Favorites: Long Tall Sally, Keep a Knockin', Tutti Frutti.
Little River Band - EXCELLENT group! I remember last winter when you asked us to list and rank our favorite groups, I placed them 8th - pretty good! They had such a great sound, perfect for the times. Favorites: It's a Long Way There, Reminiscing, The Night Owls, Down on the Border, You're Driving Me Out of My Mind.
Live - I'm not at all familiar with them.
LL Cool J - I liked him in the sitcom In the House a few years ago, but I've never gotten into his music.
Lobo - He tends to be a little overlooked nowadays, but he was a consistent hit-maker in the early-to-mid 70's. I have most of his hits on various Ktel and Ronco albums, but probably should look into a compilation someday. Favorites: Where Were You When I Was Falling in Love, Me and You and a Dog Named Boo, Don't Tell Me Goodnight, I'd Love You to Want Me.

Little Richard - Richard rocks! - fantastic piano player and he's still going strong . I have the Essential Little Richard CD and it cooks from beginning to end. In an interview I saw with David Bowie , he mentioned that when he was younger he always dreamed of playing saxophone in Richard's band ! - Faves : Jenny Jenny , Ready Teddy ,Long Tall Sally , Ooh My Soul , Lucille and The Girl Can't Help It.
Little River Band - Always loved these guys and yeah they were everywhere in the late 70's early 80's . I had the Diamantina C*cktail album back in the late 70s , the 45's of Help is on it's Way and Lonesome Loser(still got 'em) and The Greatest Hits CD was one of the first discs I bought. Superb harmonies. Faves: It's a Long Way There , Days on the Road , Help is on It's Way , Lonesome Loser , Shut Down , Turn Off , Down On The Border , Take it Easy On Me , Lady , We Two , Cool Change and The Night Owls.
Live - I remember when that album came out and I had a copy of Rolling Stone with them on the cover but can't recall any of the tunes.
LL Cool J - I hate that duet with J Lopez ( please make it stop!).His stuff isn't offensive like a large part of rap. I Never cared for him.
Lobo - Light simple 70's pop . Not a fave of the critics but who cares! LOL . Pleasant memories of hearing his tunes as a kid "sigh". I had (have) Don't Tell Me Goodnight on a K -tel album and the other two faves on CD. even play them occasionally on guitar if I can remember all the words! ;D- Faves: I'd Love You to Want Me , Don't Tell Me Goodnight and Me and You and a Dog Named Boo.

Love the mix today.
Little Richard - not a fan but I respect him and I understand the influence he's had on others. If I had to pick a fave I would say "Keep A Knockin'".
Little River Band - LOVE THEM! Another example of music that was played throughout my childhood that I readily still listen to today. A lot of faves: Cool Change, Happy Anniversary, Lonesome Loser, Take It Easy On Me, Other Guy, Reminiscing
Live - I really used to love them, but sadly I'll admit that I never listen to them anymore. Believe it or not my mom was actually a bigger fan than I was because they were from York, PA. Anyway, I still like a lot of their stuff and I should start playing it again. They are amazing in concert BTW. Faves: Negation, Lightning Crashes, I Alone, All Over You
LL Cool J - Cute story about Skylar! I confess, I like a lot of his stuff. And he's also very good looking IMO. Sigh.... Faves: Around The Way Girl, Hey Lover, Goin Back To Cali, Rock The Bells
Lobo - Music that I definitely associate with an era. Doesn't hold up that well for me though. Faves: Don't Tell Me Goodnight, Don't Expect Me To Be Your Friend

Little Richard-"WOOOOOOO!! Get my picture and my book!!! Shut up!!!" He did a free show in Boston a few years ago. He kept saying "OK we gonna do one more then we got to go, gotta go! (He said that between EVERY song!) Then he would proceed to do 45-second renditions of all his hits at a breakneck pace! "All right, just ONE more but we really got to get goin' after that! Get my picture and my book! Shut up!!" Weird dude....
Little River Band-I bought the Greatest Hits CD just before they remastered it and added bonus tracks. Should get the new version, but I hate buying CD's twice! Did not know that George Martin produced them. All of their hits were great, even the minor hit they had as LRB in '85, "Playing To Win".
Live-They got a bit of a buzz in early '92 with the song "Pain Lies On The Riverside" and their spot on MTV's 120 minutes tour. I liked the song but only bought the single. Then "Throwing Copper" came out. I hated it, to me it was generic, depressing, "I need a prozac", bland 90's rock. Yet it sold boatloads of copies at a time when I was working in music retail. However, 1994, to me, was a DISMAL year, and by this time I was done with the "Alternative" scene. Faves-Pain Lies On The Riverside, White Discussion.
LL Cool J-I thought his MTV Unplugged performance was innovative and energetic. The accoustic band ROCKED! But I'm not into his usual type of rap.
Lobo-Starring Claude Akins... Oh, you mean the SINGER! I like the hits, especially "Where Were You.....". Should pick up a collection soon.

Howdy again, Sat! Little Richard: Just could not "get it" back in my school days. But my brothers, especially "Fox" LOVED his music! At least he's exciting! Little River Band: Nice soft rock. Especially fond of Reminiscing. Live: Don't know too much except Lightning Crashes, that Oklahoma City bombing song. LL Cool J: Maybe a little too hardcore rap for me. 1995's "Hey Lover" with Boyz II Men wasn't too bad. Lobo: Yes, the best one here. His voice just screams "I need someone to enjoy my songs"! Very emotional, sympathetic, like he was singing just for me. Had no fewer than a dozen great tunes; pretty much his whole 45 catalog. BR

Little Richard - Like you, I don't really listen to him much, but I do like a few of his song and there's no denying the influence he's had on many artists. Faves: Keep a Knockin', Good Golly Miss Molly
Little River Band - Love 'em! Faves: Reminiscing, Lonesome Loser
Live - All Over You
LL Cool J - That is so cute (about Skylar)! LOL! I always liked his style and music, and I watched him a few times when he had that show In The House. Faves: Mamma Said Knock You Out, Goin' Back to Cali
Lobo - I'd Love You To Want Me

Little Richard--I don't listen to him much, but gotta respect him for his influence on other artists. And he's a funny guy. I love him on talk shows and award shows. Cracks me up! Little River Band--Love these guys. So many memories of listening to their music when I was a teen. Played "Sleeper Catcher" constantly. One of my favorite albums. Live--Really like Lightning Crashes, White/Discussion, and I Alone. Haven't listenend to anything by them in quite awhile though. LL Cool J--I thought about him last night when I was wondering who you might include today. However, I've never really listened to his music much. LOL! Funny story about Skylar, btw. The songs I do know of his I don't mind: Around the Way Girl, Goin' Back to Cali, and Mama Said Knock You Out. I've seen him in a few movies. He's not a bad actor. Lobo--More pleasant memories of my childhood. I listened to him a lot back in the day. Faves: A Simple Man, Me and You and a Dog Named Boo, She Didn't Do Magic, Don't Expect Me to Be Your Friend, It Sure Took a Long Long Time, Where Were You When I Was Falling in Love, I'd Love You to Want Me. Thinking about all these songs makes me want to hear 'em all again!

Probably because most radio stations aren't playing their hits! LOL!

I agree, LRB COULD rock, but they went unnoticed as rockers when compared to the hard rock that was being cranked out at the time.

LMAO!!!!
