Wow two hall of famers and two that eventually will be (Jeff Lynne will get in at some point with ELO). Good List. Love & Rockets - ? Lovin' Spo0nful - A great sixties rock/pop/country/etc kinda band. I too was a little surprised they got into the Rockhall before groups like the Moody Blues & Chicago, but they do deserve the nod. One of my all time favorite groups (#17) and John Sebastian has one great voice. And these guys are playing a free concert in my town (Manhattan, KS) at 8:00pm CDT, Saturday Jun 7, 2003, outdoors under the stars. Guess where I'm going to be Saturday Night. Favorites: Summer in the City, Darlin' Be Home Soon, Nashville Cats, Jug Band Music, Daydream, Me About You, Do You Believe in Magic. Lorretta Lynn - Great legendary country singer. Can listen to her in short bursts. Jeff Lynne - Really should have stayed with ELO. Don't know any of his solo stuff. Lynard Skynard - Another one of my top groups (#19). Like their fusion of rock/country/R&B. Even Sweet Home Alabama is kinda funky. Should be on the Rockhall ballot, and as much as I like them, maybe they should wait a couple of years. RIP Ronnie Van Zant & Steve Gaines. Favorites: Sweet Home Alabama, Tuesday's Gone, What's Your Name, Free Bird, Crossroads, Gimme Three Steps. When you said 2 Hall of Famers, I was confused, but I guess you mean Loretta in the Country Hall? I hope you are right about ELO!! I saw the current Sp00nful lineup. But I think I was too drunk to notice if they were any good!

So how was the zoo? Love and Rockets--I know So Alive. Good song. I know nothing else by them. Lovin' Sp00nful--Pleasant, feel good music. I always like it. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the origin of the band's name. Well, maybe it's not appropriate for a family site. ;D Loretta Lynn--Excellent songwriter, talented singer. Led a hard life, but has remained strong through it all. She's the stuff that legends are made of. I admire her a lot. Having said that, I rarely listen to her. LOL! Jeff Lynne--Never knew he had a solo career. Lynyrd Skynyrd--My husband was into them big time, so I grew to like their music more and more over the years. Good stuff! Tragic end, though. I just found the infamous "Flames" album at a thrift store not too long ago. The zoo was excellent, thank you! Family site? Well, I think some of the ladies here are too delicate to hear that talk anyway. Yes-a one album career! LOL!

Lovin Spoonful-(Did anyone else in the world of R & R use an autoharp?) I remember seeing them on Bandstand and on Mr. S’s show when I was a kid. Don’t recall seeing them on Hullabaloo back then—but I DO recall seeing them sing “Do You Believe in Magic?” On my HB DVD—as well as on those other shows... They also sing “You Didn’t Have To Be So Nice” on another of those DVD’s My favorite songs of theirs are “Daydream” , “Darlin’ be Home Soon” and “Rain on the Roof”. Inskadently , “Daydream” is also sung on Hullabaloo DVD#2—only it’s sung by “The Birds”, (On the part of the show where the artists that appeared on the show would sing that week’s “Top 10”—always a lot of fun! ;D Loretta Lynn-I always associate Loretta with one particular ride my sister and I had with some people one day. They were country music fans, and at that stage in my life NOTHING was more annoying than country music. LOL! Anyway, the one song I remember hearing that day was the one that goes “Oh…the pity, pity, patter of a little bitty feet are gonna pity, pity patter through our house (Our house, our house…)” Just about drove me crazy! Now days I kind of like Coal Miner’s Daughter—the movie—AND the song It still fascinates me that she was married by 14! (What were her parents THINKING? ! ?) (I've never heard Loretta's version of "Will The Circle..?" I'll have ta give it a listen'-to sometime. ) Jeff Lynne-Only know his work with ELO. No—wait!—Actually I believe I HAVE heard some of his solo work; it wasn’t bad, as I recall--but I don’t remember anything about it beyond that. (But I did like him as part of The Traveling Wilburys!

I've heard only one or two songs by Love and Rockets. I think that they got their name from a comic book of the same name.
The Lovin' Spoonful were a good sunshine pop band. They had catchy tunes tailor-made for AM radio.
Loretta Lynn was one of the best female country artists, and I love her autobiographical anthem, "Coal Miner's Daughter". Her life truly was a rags-to-riches story.
I really liked Jeff Lynne in both ELO and the Travelling Wilburys. He has a signature production sound that really hits home with me.
Lynyrd Skynyrd is my favorite southern rock band, and "Freebird" and "Sweet Home Alabama" are two of my favorite rock songs. They carried on the blues and country traditions with a hard rock feel.
