Hey Sat. I need to chime in here. Whiskey in the Jar is an old Irish Folk tune. I don't know who recorded it originally, but I have it on a late 50s album by the Kingston Trio. -- Yes, it's the same song. At the risk of sounding like a know it all (and I always feel like I am ), I did actually know that, based on the writing credits on the Thin Lizzy album.

Yeah, Bette's version came about a year before Faith's. They're both with WB's label, so apparently that was a song in the catalog. In My Life is the Beatles' song. And actually, I heard hers before I ever heard theirs. That's pretty sad, isn't it? P.S. - I know a lot more about Bette than I put in there. Trust me. You don't even want to know some of the things that I know about that woman. You wrote more about Bette than Babs!

Well...he's a cutie fruitie! He's still nice to look at. So there! ;D While I'm here, I just want to add a couple of my favorite Bette songs that Lora reminded me of: Shiver Me Timbers is a great song. I absotively love it! Can't believe I forgot to include it in my list. I also really like My Mother's Eyes. So I'm adding that one, too. Plus pretty much everything else Lora listed. LOL! How can a fruit be nice to look at for a woman? LOL!!

Actually, what I meant was that Natalie Merchant's voice/singing style is like a female version of Eddie Vedder.. Ok, I can kinda see that.
