Nitty Gritty Dirt Band - Saw them in concert at a C&W festival in England about a millon years ago. They were pretty good. Although I really like Buy for me the Rain & Mr. Bojangles, their best work was the Will the Circle be Unbroken albums they did in Nashville with the real country singers. Both volumes are outstanding. And I think there is either a third volume out or coming out (or so I heard). Have two of their albums as the Dirt Band that are really good as well, probably a little more mainstream country (for the late 70s) than rock/pop, but still good. Favorites (not already mentioned) American Dream & Make a Little Magic.
Ted Nugent - Nugent was Nugent. Crank it up & let it rip - no holds barred rock & roll. Like it a lot. Favorites: Dog Eat Dog, Free For All, Cat Scratch Fever, Stranglehold.
Ric Ocasek - Not familiar with his solo stuff.
Billy Ocean - Did nothing I liked
Ohio Players - Old school funk. Love it. Favorites: Fire, Skin Tight, Love Rolercoaster

Along with the Ohio Express, please add to Monday's list one of my fave groups of the last 10 years (and even better than "Garbage"!): NO DOUBT!UM, MAKE THAT 2 VOTES FOR NO DOUBT!!!!! ('cause I'm feelin hella good so let's just keep on dancin'......) ;D PLEASE!!! Nitty Gritty Dirt Band - not a big fan of southern rock. Favorite: Make A Little Magic Ted Nugent - see NGDB above - Favorites: none Ric Ocasek - Loved The Cars, and Emotion in Motion. Favorites: Emotion In Motion - and could someone please explain to me how he got Paulina Poroscovich? (I prob spelled that wrong). Billy Ocean - he's cursed me - everytime one of his songs came on at the skating rink, I'd massively wipe out. Aside from that, just really didn't like anything he did. Favorites: none. Ohio Players - Like the Chili Peppers version of Love Rollercoaster better. Favorite: Fire

Request time: How 'bout the 1910 Fruitgum Company? Nitty Gritty Dirt Band--My brother liked them back in the day, so I heard a lot of their stuff. Really like "Will the Circle Be Unbroken". Other faves: Buy for Me the Rain, Bojangles, The Battle of New Orleans, Make a Little Magic, An American Dream. Probably lots more that I can't think of right now. Ted Nugent--The Nooge! Like you, Sat, I pretty much only knew Cat Scratch Fever when I was a kid. It's actually only been in the past 2 or 3 years that I've listened to anything else by him. I like Stranglehold, Wango Tango and Free For All. I've seen him interviewed on a few different shows, and I don't think I'd like him much. LOL! Ric Ocasek--I think I only know Emotion in Motion by him. I like that song ok, but not enough to investigate any of his other solo work. Billy Ocean--I have to say I enjoyed his music a lot back in the 80's. I couldn't get enough of Suddenly, and I really liked Loverboy. Love There'll Be Sad Songs. I can even tolerate Caribbean Queen and Get Outta My Dreams, but those two tend to be overplayed, even today. Ohio Players--I had "Funky Worm" on some K-Tel or Ronco album when I was a kid, and I played that song all the time. I liked a lot of their other songs, too. They were probably my first introduction to "funk". Good group. I liked them a lot when I was younger.

[glow=red,2,300]Nitty Gritty Dirt Band- I have their 20 Years of Dirt album. They're all right. My favorites are Mr. Bojangles and Fishing in the Dark.
Ted Nugent- I've only heard Cat Scratch Fever, and it's not a bad song.
Ric Ocasek-I haven't heard any of his songs.
Billy Ocean- I like Caribbean Queen and that's just about it.
Ohio Players- Love Rollercoaster is a cool song, as is Fire. That's all I know of theirs. [/glow]

Somehow I missed Friday's list.
Nitty Gritty Dirt Band - My mom liked them a little and played the "Uncle Charlie and His Dog Teddy" album quite a bit. The Loggins/Messina version of Pooh Corner is hands down the better version. Faves: Prodigal's Return, Mr. Bojangles, Livin' Without You, Travelin' Mood
Ted Nugent - Not really my cup o' tea. Faves: Cat Stratch Fever (I guess)
Ric Ocasek - Cool guy, but I don't like his solo stuff. Emotion in Motion is ok I guess.
Billy Ocean - Hee hee. His stuff is pretty cheesy but boy, is some of it catchy. My friend Steve's pick-up line for girls is "get outta my dreams and into my car". No wonder he's single. Faves: Suddenly, There'll Be Sad Songs, Carribean Queen
Ohio Players - Funk to the max! Faves: Fire, Love Rollercoaster, O-H-I-O, Skin Tight
