Six artists today. Had a request, plus 5 O's left, so I thought I'd finish em up. 1910 Fruitgum Co-Request from Kathy and Brer. I know they had several hits, but I only know Simon Says. Even have the video on tape. Not bad, better than the Backstreet Boys. Fave-Simon Says. Orleans-Love both of their big hits. They actually toured with REO and maybe Pat Benatar a few years back as part of a Classic Rock All Stars package. The Timeless Rock station here plays them (YAY!!). Faves-Still the One, Dance With Me. Ozzy Osbourne-"ALL ABOARD!!! HAHAHAHA!!!!!" "SHARON!!!!!" The Godfather of Heavy Metal. The man who snorted ants....bit the head off a bat and needed rabis shots....bit the head off a live pigeon....drank himself into oblivion....and is now a shelf of his former self. But like Keith Richards, he is still here! (Somehow) I've never been an Ozzy head, but there is stuff I like by him a lot. Actually, my wife was into him big awhile back (yes, my wife who got ME into Martina and the Dixies! ) Sabbath needs to be in the Hall, and then Ozzy solo in a few years. Faves-Flying High Again, Shot in the Dark, I Don't Know, Goodbye to Romance, Road to Nowhere. Gilbert O'Sullivan-Lightweight singer of the early 70s. Alone Again always brought me down, but yet I like the song. And I HAVE to get Get Down! Love that tune! Wish the Timeless Rock station would play it! Faves-Get Down, Alone Again (Naturally). Outfield-GOTTA get their compilation. They came in 86, just in time for our 8th grade graduation. And these guys were just straight rock and roll when there was so little, so these guys were OUR group. Not a group that had been around 10 years. My wife (who went to the public school in town, same grade), has that first tape. I just have the Your Love single. Like I said, dying for the greasest hits disc. Faves-Your Love, Voices of Babylon, Say it Isn't So, All the Love in the World, Since You've Been Gone. Ozark Mountain Daredevils-Ok, is that a chick on lead on Jackie Blue?? It certainly isn't the same guy as on If You Wanna Get to Heaven! Jackie Blue is more disco than southern rock. Both good songs, Blue is a 70s classic. Faves-Jackie Blue & If You Wanna Get to Heaven. And you?

1910 Fruitgum Co- Glad you included them. They're the third part of the Buddah connection (with the Lemon Pipers and the Ohio Express - I don't include Super Circus as they didn't have the popularity). Their biggest is Simon Says which I really don't care for, but I love the followup 1-2-3 Red light.
Orleans- Two hit wonders. I really like both songs also.
Ozzy Osbourne - I never really listened to his music (or Black Sabbath, for that matter) and until recently only knew him for biting the heads off of things. Now he's become a household name.
Gilbert O'Sullivan- Alone Again (Naturally) was, depending who you talk to, either the number 1 or the number 2 song of 1972 (the other being first time ever I saw Your Face). It could be the most depressing song of all time. - But I agree, it's a good song. I read somewhere that all of his early songs were depressing. I'm not familiar with any of those, but his three other hits: Claire, Get Down, and Out of the Question are not depressing at all. Maybe it has to do with having money.
Outfield- Only familiar with Your Love. Pretty good song.
Ozark Mountain Daredevils- Only know Jackie Blue. It's a good song. (I don't see the disco connection).
(Pretty weak group today, compared to yesterday. Can we do Roy again? There are some faves I forgot to list.) ;D

It was just the time perioud, Moonlight Feels Right, Listen What the Man Said, etc, not straight disco, but more funky than straight rock. We can do Roy again, if we can review Martina again!

1910 Fruitgum Co - Another band that I just don't like. Sorry... Orleans - Yay! I love their 2 hits. I also like "Give One Heart" and 'What I Need". Ozzy Osbourne - I've never really listened to his solo stuff and I've never been a fan of Black Sabbath. But I understand his appeal I guess. I like "Crazy Train" or at least the guitar work on the track. Gilbert O'Sullivan - I really like his stuff a lot. I've never understood why he wasn't more popular in the states or why he's virtually forgotten now. Anyway, he has an amazing gift for melody and lyric. Faves: Alone Again (Naturally), Clair, Too Much Attention, Out of The Question, Happiness Is Me & You, At The Very Mention Of Your Name Outfield - Love them! One of the few 80s rock artists that I still listen to today. In college, the band that I was in did a FIERCE cover of "Your Love". Their greatest hits is a nice collection to have. Faves: Your Love, Since You've Been Gone, It Should Have Been Me, For You, Say It Isn't So, All The Love Ozark Mountain Devils - I know the band name and I think I know the song "If You Wanna Get To Heaven" but I don't know enough to comment.

1910 Fruitgum Co. - Woo Hoo more bubblegum! Love 1-2-3 Red Light - first heard it back in the 70's on K-tel's Flashback Fever - also have it on 45 along with Simon Says. Faves - 1-2-3 Red Light and Simon Says Orleans - Great memories of hearing Still The One back in '76 (my brother had the 45) , remember ABC TV using the tune back at the time as well. Just a great feel good song. Have it on CD - thank you Rhino , bought Love Takes Time when it was new(also have it on disc) and found Dance With Me on 45 in the 80's, yes I have it on disc as well Faves - Love Takes Time , Dance With Me and Still The One Ozzy Osbourne - Along with Alice Cooper I thought when I was younger that Oz was off his nut - which I suppose was the whole point. Love the TV show , even though Kelly and Jack drive him crazy sometimes you can tell he really loves them. Nice to see that Sharon is doing well. It's very cool to see he's such a HUGE Beatles fan. Have got more into Sabbath and Ozzy solo in the last few years . He was in Vancouver recently heard it was a great show. Love that Pepsi commercial with him and the kids - LOL Faves - Crazy Train , Dreamer , I Don't Want To Change The World and Mama I'm Coming Home. Gilbert O' Sullivan - Always really loved Get Down - remember hearing as a kid . Have it on 45 and disc. A buddy of mine had Your Love on 45 back in '86 and I loved it the first time I heard it (he really does sound like Sting!).Too bad there wasn't more stuff like this at the time. I have the 45 as well, plus all the albums(4 on CD and 1 on vinyl) have thought about picking up the compilation disc just to complete the catalogue ( I believe it includes some unreleased material). Really got into them after seeing a couple of video's for the '92 album Rockeye bought it, then slowly bought everything else! LOL Faves - Your Love My Paradise Taken By Suprise For You I Don't Need Her Take it All Closer to Me All The Love Since You've Been Gone Inside Your Skin John Lennon Winning it All Say It isn't So Take Me Home Jane (With Ten Years After' Alvin Lee on Guitar:) 61 Seconds Eye To Eye Talk To Me Ozark Mountain Daredevils - You know Adam I've been wondering about that for a very long time - just WHO is that singing on Jackie Blue? There was a girl in my class at the time named Jackie who a buddy of mine had a crush on.Also Love if You Want To Get To Heaven Faves - Jackie Blue and If You Want To Get To Heaven

1910 Fruitgum Co.--Okay, okay, I admit it, I like Simon Says and 1-2-3 Red Light.
Orleans--LOVE Dance With Me! I remember reading that they were from Upstate New York, though I don't know how true that is.
Ozzy--Sorry, folks, never was into him or Sabbath. *raises arm to shield self from airborne produce*
Gilbert O'Sullivan--My mom had most of his 45s(Alone Again, Claire, Get Down, Out Of The Question). I heard a parody of "Alone Again" on the radio once called "Stallone Again Naturally"("he thows a punch, I lose my lunch...")
Outfield--Only know "Your Love"--it's OK.
Ozark Mountain Daredevils--Like both of their major hits. Again, I don't know if it's true, but I read that one of their early names was "Buffalo Chips and Burlap Socks"!

Ozzy Osbourne - I'm with Ken. I really love that Pepsi commercial. I don't really know alot of Ozzy's music, or his stuff with Black Sabbath for that matter. But, he's a legend. I love The Osbournes though. That's a great show. I'm also glad to see Sharon is doing well. She's my favorite Osbourne. Sharon kicks arse!!!

Did I know you were in a band? What did you do in it? I think I've metioned it before. I was one of the singers, and I played a little percussion (think Tracy Partridge on tambourine) and a little piano on occasion. We did mostly jazz stuff, but occasionally we'd break out covers of random songs like the theme to Chico & The Man, and songs from artists like Rick Springfield, Duran Duran etc.

1910 Fruitgum Company: I honestly can't recall ever hearing Simon Says or anything else by this group. Certainly a unique name though...
Orleans: Thumbs up. Good memories of swimming pools and summer vacations associated with this group. Fine harmonies. Have to admit that their style is more than a little dated and hasn't held up well over time, but I like them just the same. Favorites = Still the One, Dance With Me, Love Takes Time
Ozzy Osbourne: Should be the spokesman for the newest incarnation of Nancy Reagan's "Just Say No" campaign. His music was just a little too heavy for me and I think Randy Rhodes deserves some credit for his guitar work. Ozzy is entertaining if a little bit incomprehensible on his TV show. Hall of Fame material? Not in my opinion, despite being one of the pioneers of Heavy Metal I just don't see enough TRUE talent there. Favorites = Crazy Train (barely)
Gilbert O'Sullivan: Eccentric Brit who had a trio of hits in 72-73 and disappeared into oblivion. I like his work. Not much else to comment on Favorites = Alone Again (Naturally), Get Down
Outfield: Mostly forgotten MOR rockers from my early years of college. Again, not much I can say but I do have a positive opinion of them. Favorites = Your Love, Voices of Babylon, All the Love in the World
Ozark Mountain Daredevils: Yeah!! LOVE Jackie Blue. "Every day in your indigo eyes, I watch the sun set but I don't see it rise". Always appreciated the lyrics here. I'd have liked to have seen more hits from this band...one of 1975's standouts who quickly faded (the same can be said for Jigsaw). I find myself singing their songs in the shower..or at least attempting to...on a regular basis. God help my future wife should I ever get hitched... Favorites = Jackie Blue, If You Wanna Get to Heaven
Oh by the way, you forgot Nelly...JUST KIDDING ;D

1910 Fruitgum Company-Same as Ohio Express. I love the music, but the groups were interchangable to me, the only thing different was the voice.
Orleans-Opening for America later this month! Can't wait for that show! I only know their three hits, but what would the 70's be without them?
Ozzy Osbourne-I loved him in high school, but now it's just sad to see him stumbling around, babbling incoherantly and cleaning up dog CRAP! I like his old albums, Bark At The Moon and so forth... But I CAN'T watch the show! In Black Sabbath, I just thought he was the COOLEST!!
Gilbert O' Sullivan-I like his hits, but I remember having an album by him years ago and thinking "This guy is a DORK!" If you heard the album, you'd know what I meant..
Outfield-I have a CD collection. It's not the type of 80's music I am particularly into, I prefer the dark synth-y stuff. But they had a good sound and their singer could really belt 'em!
Ozark Mountain Fried Chicken.. Um, Daredevils (Sorry)-Two hits that couldn't have sounded any more different from each other. Since I only know those two songs, I really can't comment because I don't know which was most representive of their style.

1910 Fruitgum Co. - Another fun bubblegum group, very similar to the Ohio Express. Favorites: 1-2-3 Red Light, Simon Says, Indian Giver.
Orleans - This group had such a great sound - I always wondered why they didn't have more hits. Their songs bring back lots of childhood memories for me. Favorites: Dance With Me, Still the One, Love Takes Time.
Ozzy Osbourne - I've never gotten into him for some reason, although I heard quite a bit of his music when Mark and I were dating. My mom loves to watch him and his family on TV, but I've never seen the show myself. Favorite: Crazy Train.
Gilbert O'Sullivan - I've always liked his music, and like Kitty, I've wondered why he didn't have more success in the States - I know he was quite popular in Britain. Favorites: Ooh Baby, Get Down, Alone Again (Naturally), Clair, Out of the Question, What's in a Kiss.
Outfield - This group was huge my senior year of high school. Good stuff. Favorites: Your Love, All the Love in the World.
Ozark Mountain Daredevils - I only know their two big hits. 'If You Wanna Get to Heaven' is good, but I absolutely love 'Jackie Blue'! One of my favorite songs of the 70's!

1910 Fruitgum Company--Wonderful childhood memories for me. Love all their songs--1 2 3 Redlight, Goody Goody Gumdrops, Indian Giver, Speial Delivery, Simon Says, May I Take a Giant Step (Into Your Heart). Such good songs! Orleans--Really like the 2 songs I know by them. Ozzy Osbourne--I was never into him or Sabbath, but there are of course a few songs by him/them that I enjoy. Really like the show "The Osbournes", although Ozzy seems to have become a bit frail. Too many drugs, too much drinking, I suppose. And what would he ever do without Sharon? I think he'd be lost without her. Gilbert O'Sullivan--More childhood memories for me. Really liked Alone Again (Naturally), even though it used to make me cry, and I also love Claire, Get Down, and Out of the Question. Would love to get a Greatest Hits CD somewhere. Outfield--This is a group I tend to forget about, but they did have some good songs. Unfortunately, I own nothing by them. Ozark Mountain Daredevils--I know Jackie Blue and If You Want to Get to Heaven. Two very different styles of songs. But both very good. More requests--You are really gonna be sick of me, but could you pleeeeze include Donny Osmond and/or the Osmonds? And maybe even Tony Orlando and Dawn? Both pleasant memories for me. You don't even have to comment on 'em, Adam. Just list them and forget about them. LOL! I'd much appreciate it if you'd consider it. Thanks!

[glow=red,2,300]1910 Fruitgum Co.- I've only heard Simon Says. I don't really like that song.
Orleans- I've only heard Love Takes Time and Still the One, and I like those songs okay.
Ozzy Osbourne- I've never really liked him. His music was just not my type of thing.
Gilbert O' Sullivan- All of his I've heard is Alone Again (Naturally) and it's a great song although it is really depressing.
Outfield- I only like Since You've Been gone.
Ozark Mountain Daredevils- Jackie Blue is a great song, but that's the only song by them I have heard. It is one of my favorites though. [/glow]
