Good list, once again! Would it EVER be bad?!?? ;D
1910 Fruitgum Co.--More enjoyable bubblegum! ALWAYS liked Simon Says since toddler days, and later discovering 123 Redlight and Indian Giver, both of which are super.
Orleans--Smitty, they formed in Ithaca, but based themselves in the Big Apple when they hit in the later 70's. John Hall's such a great man! Absolutely LOVE "Love takes time", and always remembering LOVING "Still the one"--later used in ABC ads-It musta been the #1 song in Syracuse for like 6 to 8 weeks! LOL. Can hear "Dance with me" less often, however. Haven't heard too much of the minor hits, however.
Ozzy Osbourne--Most people in my family DETEST him, and I can barely tolerate his actions myself, but at least some of his music rocks. Could care less about the TV show, period. That Pepsi ad--I'm on the Osmond's side!!! ;D
Faves:
Shot in the dark
Mama I'm coming home
Mr. Crowley (LOVED playing this in college)
Crazy train
You can't kill rock 'n roll
Bark at the moon
Flying high again
I'm sure a few others...
Gilbert O'Sullivan--Don't have a clear-cut fave today, but this would probably be my top choice today. Staright ahead pop singer typical of the early 70's with a pleasing repertoire of tunes. Wished he had more hits, like others said.
Faves:
Alone again naturally (In my top 100)
Get down
Clair
Out of the question
Ooh baby
Nothing rhymed
Happiness is you and me
What's in a kiss
At the very mention of your name
Too much attention
Outfield--Another "no punches pulled" artist, this time in rock 'n roll--the way it's meant to sound. Finding groups like this today have gotta be quite a dime a dozen. Have their "Hits" CD, from Sony/Legacy. All their best are there. A British group who succeded at sounding "American".
Faves--
Your love (Never tire of it)
Voices of Babylon
Closer to me
Say it isn't so (You got me all screwed up!)
For you
All the love (in the world)
Since you've been gone
Winning it all
My paradise
Every time you cry
A few others whose titles escape me...
Ozark Mountain Daredevils--I think Larry Lee sang lead on "Heaven", and harmonicist Steve Cash (doing a falsetto) did honors on "Jackie Blue". And do I LOVE that tune and singing along to it! Also like their minor hits as well.
I'm with Kathy! Do the Osmonds as one entry! "I'm a little bit country..." ;D
