Oliver - Really liked Good Morning Starshine when I was little  I was aware of the song Jean but didn't hear it until a few years ago. RIP Oliver Faves - Good Morning Starshine , Jean Outlaws - My oldest brother really liked them , I remember he had a T -shirt with their group logo on it when I was a kid . I have Green Grass and High Tides on a CD compilation - Highs of The 70's . My classic rock station plays Green Grass..... every so often. Faves - Green Grass and High Tides , (Ghost Riders) In The Sky and There Goes Another Love Song Jimmy Page - I remember when his solo album was released - Outrider. I think that I might have seen a video for one of the songs but that's all I remember. Jason is a fantastic drummer( like father, like son Patti Page - I was out looking for records on Sunday at a couple of local Swap Meets and I couldn't believe how many of her albums I saw . I'm just not familiar with her material at all , I know she did the theme song to the movie Hush , Hush Sweet Charlotte , but it's been so long since I've seen the movie ,I can't remember how the song goes. Faves - none Robert Palmer - I like quite a few of his songs . He's been around for a very long time although lately he seems to have dropped off the radar . Faves: Looking for Clues , Bad Case Of Loving You , Simply Irresistable , Addicted To Love and Johnny and Mary. Jason did some great drumming on his first solo album as well. |

Oliver - I'm only familiar with Good Morning Starshine and Jean. I like his version of Good Morning Starshine even better than the original from Hair. It's supposed to be a happy song, and Oliver's version is -- happier. Jean is from the movie "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie" Didn't care for this one as much. Too slow and plodding -- like the movie. Outlaws - Heard of them, but never listened to their music. Jimmy Page - Not familiar with his solo work. Patti Page - Really from an era before mine. (yeah, really  ) She spilled over into my era (which really begins in '54-'55) and went well into the '60s. Very popular middle of the road singer. Faves: Tennessee Waltz, Changing Partners, How Much Is That Doggie in the Window, Old Cape Cod, Allegheny Moon, Mockin' Bird Hill Robert Palmer - Never cared for his voice, although Bad Case Of Loving You is a pretty good song, and I can take Simply Irresistable. I remember when my son was a kid, he absolutely HATED I Didn't Mean To Turn You On -- so I used to sing it to him all the time. ;D We found an era BEFORE yours??   |

Oliver-I love "Starshine" and can tolerate "Jean", but I don't care for his version of "Sunday Mornin'", Spanky & Our Gang did it better! Outlaws-I have "Green Grass & High Tides" on a compilation (the same one Ken mentioned). It's OK, but I really don't care much for southern rock. Jimmy Page-I remember "Wasting My Time" and "The Only One" from '88, but I never bought the album. I should, though... I always see it in cut-out bins! Patti Page-OK, I'll admit it.. I LOVE "Old Cape Cod" Robert Palmer-Saw him with Power Station in '97. Great performer, great songs. Johnny & Mary is probably my favorite. I think you'd dig Page's album. I like Robert Palmer's music, but for a while there in the '80s, it seemed like he was doing the same video to every song, with that same bunch of models (although there were more of them each time). That's why all us guys liked em! |

Oliver - So this is who sang "Good Morning Starshine"? I never knew. It's not a song that I particularly like. Outlaws - Nope. They've never done anything for me either. Jimmy Page - Anything not connected to Led Zeppelin or Yardbirds = Yawwwwwwnnnn Patti Page - One of my grandmother's faves - she used to say "if you don't like Patti Page, then you don't like ice cream". Some good memories associated with some of her songs. Faves: Gentle On My Mind, Call Me Irresponsible, Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte, Try To Remember Robert Palmer - What?! He annoys you? Gee, I really expected you to be a big fan. I never really got into his mid-80s "Addicted To Love" era, but boy do I love his earlier stuff. Sneakin Sally Through The Alley is a BRILLIANT album. And the jazz standards album he put out a few years ago is also quite good. Faves: Sneakin' Sally, Hey Julia, Through It All There's You, Every Kinda People, Man Smart Women Smarter, I Didn't Mean To Turn You On, Woke Up Laughing, Johnny & Mary, Bad Case of Lovin' You, In Walks Love Again, Can We Still Be Friends, Jealous I could go on and on...people who aren't familiar with his stuff before 1985 should check him out. Insulting Zeppelin AND the Yardbirds???  Why would you figure I'd like Palmer? |

Oliver - I've always liked 'Good Morning Starshine', and although I've only heard 'Jean' once, I thought it was good as well. Nice 60's pop. Outlaws - I was introduced to this group's music back in 1985 by that former boyfriend I've mentioned before. One of my favorite southern rock bands! I have their greatest hits on cassette. Favorites: Green Grass and High Tides, Hurry Sundown, There Goes Another Love Song, Ghost Riders in the Sky. Jimmy Page - I don't think I've heard any of his solo material. Patti Page - Her music is played often on a "Music of Your Life" nostalgia station that I occasionally listen to. Very talented vocalist. Favorite: Old Cape Cod. Robert Palmer - Not one of my favorite male artists, but not bad either. I too got a little tired of hearing 'Addicted to Love' back in the day. Favorites: Every Kinda People, Bad Case of Loving You, I Didn't Mean to Turn You On. I should check out more Outlaws. |

And onward! Oliver--Hardly think about his music, but his 2 biggest were good. I like "Jean" a little more. Outlaws--I do get into Southern rock, but another band I don't listen to too much of. As a child, "Green Grass" bored me to tears, but it's grown on me. "Love Song" is good, but their rendition of "Ghost Riders" ROCKS--especially the end!!! Jimmy Page--I vaguely remember his "Outrider" album about the time I graduated high school. Also an album helped out with Dave Coverdale. Would prefer the Zep. Patti Page--Now we're talking! I grew up listening to many of her songs, but the last 10 years, I have REALLY grown to LOVE her music, and now I'd rather listen to her greatest hits 10,000 times than all the top 40 crap of today once. Keep living strong, Clara Ann Fowler! (Her birth name) Faves: Doggie in the window Cross over the bridge (LOVED this since age 11) Tennessee waltz All my love (Bolero) (Love this! A-yi-yi!) I don't listen to it in bunches today, but I really like hearing all his music occasionally today. And one of the sharpest dressed men to ever hit the charts in the last 25 years. You go, Robert! Oliver--I only know Jean and Good Morning Starshine. I like 'em both. Some friends of mine were on a road trip a few years ago, and we were listening to an oldies compilation CD in the car. Good Morning Starshine came on, and all 4 of us gals were singing "Gliddy Gloop Gloopy Nibby Nobby Noopy La Lee Lee Lo Lo" at the top of our lungs. It was too funny! Good times... Outlaws--Really Like There Goes Another Love Song. Ghost Riders is pretty good too. That's all I know by them. Jimmy Page--Don't know his solo work, although I do remember seeing the album in the stores. Patti Page--My dad liked her a lot. I remember some songs by her. She had a very nice voice. I like Doggie in the Window, Old Cape Cod, Tennessee Waltz, Mockin' Bird Hill. Robert Palmer--Looking For Clues is a great song. I remember the video for this also. Pretty clever. I also like Bad Case of Loving You, and Every Kinda People. Addicted to Love is ok, but I got sick of hearing it. I do like Weird Al's parody--Addicted to Spuds. Oh to be a fly on the wall for that singalong! LOL!! |

Oliver & the Outlaws, now that would be strange bedfellows. Oliver - Not the kind of singer I would associate with a song from Hair, but Good Morning Starshine is a good song. "Jean" got an Oscar nomination and is a good song. He did a miserable job on Sunday Morning. Outlaws - A great southern rock band, mostly on the strength of Ghost Rides & Green Grass & High Tides. Those songs rock. Other favorites include There Goes Another Love Song, Hurry Sundown, & Take It Anyway You Want It. Jimmy Page - Not familiar with his solo career Patti Page - My parents listened to her. I remember Doggie in the Window, Allegheny Moon, & Detour. Robert Palmer - His music has become standard 80s fare. Sick of Addicted to Love (overplayed). Favorite: Bad Case of Loving You. They sure would make strange bedfellows! LOL! |

Oliver - Funny thing, my high school musical theatre teacher swore up and down that he was Bob from Sesame Street. I actually believed him for awhile, until the guy died and I saw the obit. The Outlaws - I don't know anything about them at all. Jimmy Page - I know who he is, but nothing about his solo stuff. Patti Page - she was big in the 40's. She was one of those Hit Parade people. Really don't care for that style of music. ROBERT PALMER!!!! - LOVE him. Saw him on the Heavy Nova tour in 1989. Fabulous show! He doesn't take the dancing women on tour, much to the disappointment of my ex. He was trying to make a point about videos with the dancing women. It worked out so well, he stuck with it, adding a few more each time. It's the single most copied video of all time, with such people as Shania Twain and Ton Loc copying it. The man did a 3 hour show in a 3 piece grey silk suit with thin pink tie and he NEVER BROKE A SWEAT! He's just so cool and calm - that's what I love about him. Favorites: Every Kind Of People, Sneakin' Sally Through The Alley, Tell Me I'm Not Dreaming, Flesh Wound, I Didn't Mean To Turn You On, Addicted To Love, Simply Irresistable, Bad Case Of Loving You (Doctor Doctor), and in case there's no Power Station entry, Get It On (Bang A Gong) and Some Like It Hot. What was the point-that people will love the videos and they will win tons of awards? Tone Loc got taken to court for his version! And there WILL be a Power Station entry. |

Howdy, Sat! Did you get the IM about my brother? Anyway... Oliver: Pleasant singer. I like both big hits. Outlaws: Now here's a group for the "Fox"! Their tunes are all right with me. Jimmy Page: Haven't heard anything solo, and as said before, I'm not a big Zep fan. Patti Page: Yeah! Fine childhood memories, and I still love her songs today! I most especially like "Doggie in the window", with "Tennessee Waltz" and "Old Cape Cod" close behind. Robert Plamer: As far as rock singers go, I like him. Fine remake of "Mercy mercy me" a while back. Lookin' forward to the Partridge Family! BR Partridge Family will be today. |

In the Power Station in 97?? They did a reunion album and tour. The album sucked but the concert was great, especially since Palmer didn't tour with them in '85 (Michael DesBarres did the vocals on that tour). This time, though, John Taylor wasn't with them. So the four that did that great '85 album never toured as a full unit... |
