The last P and all 5 Q's!!
Pure Prairie League-Their 2 biggest hits came 5 years apart! Amie is a classic rock staple. I remember Let Me Love You Tonight growing up. Hey current country fans, that's Vince Gill on the lead vocals on the latter! Faves-Let Me Love You Tonight, Amie.
Quarterflash-Two songs that had lots of MTV play. Just saw one the other day on VH-1 Classic. Decent stuff, sort of at the Motels level. No big threat to Pat Benatar or Joan Jett. Faves-Harden My Heart, Take Me to Heart.
Suzi Quatro-This was a sort of unofficial request from Dave. I remember the duet with Chris Norman very well growing up. And I have a video for 49 Bomb on tape, and from what I remember, it sounded similar to Suzi's sister's band's (Fanny) Charity Ball. And yes, she was Leather Tuscadero. (Slap your hip twice and point the gun!). Fave-Stumblin' in (W/Chris Norman)
Queen-Yet another band I don't think about how much I like until I see a list of songs. They have so many "signature" songs. Got some great rockers beyond the hits. Too bad about Freddie. Their influence was so far reaching-I mean Metallica AND George Michael at the same tribute concert?? Faves-Tie Your Mother Down, Keep Yourself Alive, Under Pressure (W/Bowie), We Are the Champions, We Will Rock You.
Queensryche-I know a couple that absolutely loves these guys. I really only know their two big MTV era hits. Still have not heard Queen of the Reiche. Floyd meets metal. Faves-Jet City Woman, Silent Lucidity (Mother re-write).
Quiet Riot-One of the MTV metal bands we were digging in 6th-7th grade, along with Twisted Sister. Had such ridiculous songs and videos! LOL! But it's great nostalgia for me. Faves-Cum On Feel the Noize, Bang Your Head (Metal Health), The Wild and the Young.
And you?

Pressed for time today, I'll "try" to be brief Pure Prairie League : Relaxing country rock that was hard not to like. My (female) roommate was named after the song "Aimee" and spells it the same way. They got a lot of airplay down here in the 70's as I was growing up. Favorites = Aimee, Let Me Love You Tonight Quarterflash : Really dug the saxophone work on this band's recordings. I like this band a lot. Like Dave alluded to yesterday, they seem to have been forgotten by most. The lead singer was kinda hot too Favorites = Harden My Heart, Take Me To Heart, Find Another Fool Suzi Quattro : Eh...didn't really get into her music though "Stumblin' In", her duet from early '79 with Chris Norman, was the very first single I bought. Always got Leather Tuscadero and Pinky Tuscadero confused on Happy Days. She was Leather, right? Favorites = Stumblin' In Queen : Monumentally HUGE in Great Britain...quite successful here too. Good band but not quite great. Freddie Mercury was very active on stage. Lead guitarist Brian May has a degree in Astrophysics...I kid you not. Intriguing group. Sick sick sick of Bohemian Rhapsody! Favorites include: Killer Queen You're My Best Friend We Will Rock You We Are the Champions Another One Bites the Dust Under Pressure Queensryche : Posers Favorites = Silent Lucidity Quiet Riot : So they made a career out of rehashing Slade tunes...at least they did it well and had fun in the process. These guys are hilarious in interviews, they'll admit they were just in it for the parties and the chicks. I liked them and spent much of 1984 blasting them out of my car speakers. Favorites = Cum on Feel the Noize, Mama Weer All Crazee Now, Bang Your Head (Metal Health)

Pure Prairie League - Amie - What a great tune! just found out that Craig Fuller who wrote and sang Amie later joined Little Feat. Didn't hear Let Me Love You Tonight until much later. Faves - Amie , Let Me Love You Tonight Quarterflash - Really liked "Harden" and Take Me To Heart at the time. I have Harden My Heart on cassette. Even sold a copy of the LP at our record convention!. Remember seeing Rindy (is that her name?) on one of American Bandstand's Anniversary shows as part of the all star jam she was wailing away on that saxaphone! looked good as well. Faves - Take Me To Heart and Harden My Heart. Suzi Quatro - Love her stuff - grew up with a couple of her 8 - tracks in the house. I have a british import CD of her greatest hits. Yup remember seeing her on Happy Days and her singing Devil Gate Drive with Erin Moran backing her up LOL Faves - Devil Gate Drive , I Hear You Knockin' , '48 Crash , Can The Can , If You Can't Give Me Love , Daytona Demon , I May Be Too Young and Stumblin' In (bought the 45 back in '79) Queen - RIP Freddie , Love Roger's Drumming and love seeing live footage of Brian with that wall of Vox AC 30's behind him. My oldest brother bought the first three Queen albums back in the day , he played them often. I bought the 45's of Killer Queen (loved the b side Flick of the Wrist as well) Another One Bites The Dust , Need Your Loving Tonight and Bohemian Rhapsody as a kid .The lyrics to Rhapsody always gave me kind of a creepy feeling even to this day but it's still a classic if somewhat overplayed at times. I also have Classic Queen , Queen's Greatest and Jazz on CD and Queen 2 , Sheer Heart Attack and The Game on Vinyl Including those listed other faves include: Liar , Keep Yourself Alive , Crazy Little Thing Called Love , Play The Game , Leaving Home Ain't Easy , Hammer To Fall , Stone Cold Crazy , Seven Seas of Rhye , Now I'm Here , Headlong ,Brighton Rock, Bicycle Race , Under Pressure and You're My Best Friend. Queensryche - I remember seeing them on the Grammy Awards I believe it was a few years back. I'm not 100% sure but the song they performed must have been Silent Lucidity. That's the only song I'm familiar with. Faves - Silent Lucidity Quiet Riot - It's great nostalgia for me too Adam. Only two of my buddy's along with myself back in high school knew that Cum on Feel The Noise or Noize was a remake . We'd try to tell other's that we knew "Hey this was done back in the 70's by Slade!" all we got in return were blank stares - Huh? Slade?? who's Slade ?? LMAO Faves - Bang Your Head, Mama Weer All Crazee Now and Cum on Feel The Noise

Pure Prairie League- Only familiar with the two hits. Amie and Let Me Love You Tonite. Like em both.
Quarterflash - Don't really know them well at all. I don't remember having heard them until I started filling in my early 80s collection and needed Harden My Heart. So I went out and bought the 45 (actually found it in a used record store) and when I played it my reaction was "oh yeah, THAT song" Whatever.
Suzi Quatro- Really only know her from Happy Days and her one hit Stumblin In, which was OK the first 800 times I heard it. -- You know, there is a website dedicated to determining when good TV series "jumped the shark" - or went bad. For Happy Days, many people believe it was the appearance of Pinky and Leather.
Queen- Great group! I think Freddie Mercury had one of the best voices of any band lead vocalists. Some fabulous songs.. and yes, I love Bohemian Rhapsody (all time top 100). Other faves: Killer Queen, Another One Bites The Dust, Crazy Little Thing Called Love (one of the best Elvis impersinations I've ever heard), We Will Rock You, We are the Champions, and These Are The Days of Our Lives (following a recommendation from Railyn). Queensryche- Never heard of them.
Quiet Riot- Only know Cum On Feel The Noize. Prefer the Slade version, but it's OK.

Pure Prarie League-I liked "Let Me Love You Tonight". Fit perfectly on am radio in 1980.
Quarterflash-"Harden My Heart" was one of the best songs of 1982. The intro is simply bone-chilling! "Find Another Fool" was a "Harden" re-tread, but "Take Me To Heart" is GREAT!
Suzi Quatro- ::slap slap:: "POW!" I just know "Stumblin' In" and the songs she did on Happy Days.
Queen-Todays Fave! They covered so many musical styles in the course of one album, yet it was all still Queen. The early "No Synthesizer" albums were the best, some of the later ones, like "Hot Space" were not so great.
Queensryche-Great band, although I don't listen to them much anymore. I first heard them in '85, when "The Warnng" came out, I thought they sounded like Maiden. Eventually they found their own niche. "Mindcrime" was good, a little too emotionally intense for me, but a good concept album. I LOVE "Empire". Easily their best work!
Quiet Riot-The heavy metal equivalent of Spam. I never liked them, I tried to when they were huge, but I just couldn't. In 1983-84 they were hot, but in 1985 they were HATED (thanks, Kevin!!). Hit Parader even went as far as to print a Kevin DuBrow dartboard! I thought at the time that DuBrow looked like a holdover from the disco era with that hairstyle he had and his open shirts. Now he has a full head of hair...

Quarterflash - I always liked "Harden My Heart" but never knew who sang it until now. Thanks! Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody is one of my all-time favorite "rock" songs!! It's so sad that Freddy Mercury died so young. They did Under Pressure with Bowie? Wow, I'm learning so much today! Quiet Riot - All I know is Cum On Feel the Noise. Catchy hair band song. Others - Have no clue!

Pure Prairie League - I didn't know that about Vince Gill singing lead on 'Let Me Love You Tonight' - cool! Great country-rock sound. Favorites: Amie, Let Me Love You Tonight, Still Right Here in My Heart.
Quarterflash - I only know their three biggest hits, and all of them are great. Very 80's! Favorites: Harden My Heart, Find Another Fool, Take Me to Heart.
Suzi Quatro - I'm only familiar with 'Stumblin' In' - great song! I should probably check out more of her stuff.
Queen - Like you, I don't always think about this group when listing favorite artists, but they had a lot of excellent songs. Freddie Mercury was a very talented singer and performer. Favorites: You're My Best Friend (love it!), Killer Queen, We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions, Another One Bites the Dust, Under Pressure, Crazy Little Thing Called Love.
Queensryche - I only know 'Silent Lucidity', which is a pretty good song. I thought it was Pink Floyd when I first heard it.
Quiet Riot - Here's a group I heard a lot of in high school and shortly thereafter. Their music hasn't aged as well as the material from some of their contemporaries, but it's still fun to listen to. Favorites: Cum On Feel the Noize, Bang Your Head (Metal Health).

Thanks Sat! Pure Prairie League--Truth be told, I haven't heard many of their tunes, but I absolutely LOVE their "softer" hits in the early 80's with Vince Gill on lead. Before that time, I just know "Amie" and "Two Lane Highway". Faves: Let me love you tonight (Such a GREAT song in under 3 minutes) Still right here in my heart Amie You're mine tonight (VERY overlooked) I'm almost ready I can't stop the feelin' Two lane highway Quarterflash--The Motels, to a lesser degree. But what a sax player lead singer Rindy Ross is! Played all the rock circuits in the early/mid 80's, but now rock critics would dismiss them as being too "pop". Album rock playlists were so much more versatile in the 80's than today. Great group, know all their singles well, plus some more from their debut; loved playing it in college! Faves: Harden my heart (Should be in most peoples' top 200, 300 songs of the 80's) Find another fool (NO short "fade" ending!) Take me to heart (Did get a little sick of it for a while, now I haven't heard it in ages!) Night shift (Title song from a VERY obscure movie) Right kind of love Take another picture Talk to me Cruisin' with the deuce Try to make it true Suzi Quatro--WOO, YEAH! My 2nd fave today! The Godmother of Punk Music, no questions. I have a CD on Razor & Tie, it is AWESOME! Beats the Runaways and other early girl bands to pieces. Every tune's a SOLID winner, period. Can't say enough. Faves: She's in love with you (BIG WOOOOO HOOOO!!!) Stumblin' in' (didn't know the song had a longer ending till I got the R & T CD) Lipstick Can the can Devil gate drive Keep a knockin' Glycerine queen I've never been in love Your mama won't like me 48 crash If you can't give me love All shook up Mama's boy The wild one Paralysed Tear me apart Daytona demon Shakin' all over Michael Cat size Rolling stone I may be too young Queen--My fave today, and since the age of 10, they've always been in my 20 favorite groups. MUCH teasing in school for liking them! Anyway, they possess some of the most timeless rock music, even if Freddy had to "overcharacterize" his flamboyance. Man, was I ONE SUCKER for LOVING the "Hot Space" album! Already have a 2-CD collection, as well as "The Game" on CD, with more to follow. Too much for words. RIP Frederick Bulsara, 1946-1991. Faves: (Hold on to your hat, a L-O-O-O-ONG list!) #1!-ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST (Absolutely FOREVER in my top 10 of all time) Crazy little thing called love (top 50) Bohemian rhapsody (top 100) We will rock you/We are the champions (top 200) Body language Killer queen You're my best friend (LOVE the "moogish" guitar) Fat bottom girls Bicycle race Radio ga-ga Somebody to love Under pressure Play the game Back chat Flash's theme Need your loving tonight Calling all girls One vision (Fried chicken!) Don't try suicide A kind of magic Tie your mother down These are the days of our lives (very chilling) Keep yourself alive Seven seas of Rhye Headlong Action this day The show must go on Stone cold crazy I want it all Las Palabras de Amor Dragon attack Good old fashioned lover boy Spread your wings I'm in love with my car Save me Put out the fire (Shoot!) I want to break free Dancer Hammer to fall Now I'm here God save the queen Rock it (Prime jive) Don't stop me now It's late Machines (Or Back to Humans) Sheer heart attack Sail away sweet sister Get down, make love Who wants to live forever Life is real (Song for Lennon) Tear it up Innuendo I'm going slightly mad '39 The miracle Friends will be friends Dear friends It's a hard life In the lap of the gods Made in heaven Breakthru Love of my life Flick of the wrist Brighton rock --whew-- Queensryche--I never thought they would last this long. Two mediocre albums in '83 and '84--I thought they'd had it after that. Somehow their next 2 releases slipped by me, but "Empire" made me think twice. A great album it is; perhaps in my top 500 albums. What a cool "headphones experience"! Subsequent albums, however, didn't favor well with me. Faves: Silent lucidity (Only 13 years old, but this should belong on every classic rock countdown of top songs) Another rainy night Jet city woman Anybody listening? Empire Eyes of a stranger (I actually remember playing this in college) Bridge Breaking the silence I am I Quiet Riot--ah, the first hard rock group I really got into. They were...well, a RIOT! No wonder why I didn't do too good in 8th grade social studies... Plan to get a "Best of" CD sometime soon and relive those memories! Faves: Cum on feel the noize (all time top 500) Bang your head (Metal health) Mama weer all crazee now Slick black Cadillac The wild and the young Stomp your hands, clap your feet Battle axe Condition critical Let's get crazy Run for cover Party all night Put up or shut up Thunderbird Slave to love Things should be "hopping" tomorrow...

Okily dokily. More "Q's" than I thought there would be.
Pure Prairie League - they weren't bad - like the two hits already mentioned. Vince Gill must get around because he also sang Firefall's "You Are The Woman".
Quarterflash - never really cared for them. So overplayed on radio around here.
Suzi Quatro - was not a Happy Days fan. I did like Stumblin' In, though. I never knew that was her until a few years ago.
Queen - one I can thank my parents for. Love them, and it's so sad when a group loses their lead singer, because it will never be the same again, no matter how hard you try. I'll list my very favorites, because if I listed all, it would be long: Flash (also way cool movie), Radio GaGa, I Want To Break Free (seen the video since I now know for a fact what I had suspected for years about Freddie and the whole thing now has a deeper meaning), It's A Kind Of Magic, You're My Best Friend, Killer Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody, Hammer To Fall, Stone Cold Crazy, We Will Rock You, and These Are The Days Of Our Lives (so sad, he looks so sick in the video, and it turned out to be the last song and video - creepy) (glad you liked it, H2).
Queensryche - My husband has the tape. I used to joke that it was Silent Lucidity over and over again. Never really cared for them.
Quiet Riot - loved the stuff about the first 5000 times. I'm now very sick of it (still).

Yeah, but the term "jump the shark" was invented from the Happy Days episode where Fonzie did just that! Although I gotta agree. When Pinkie and Fonzie were in the Demolition Derby, Fonzie used a blow dryer against the Malachie Brothers. A Blow dryer. In a car. Ok.
