Starting the R's! Eddie Rabbitt-You know, this guy had some good stuff! Part of the whole country crossover sound of the late 70s/early 80s with Dolly, Kenny & Juice. Urban Cowboy probably helped people dig this stuff even more. I am impressed that I know 2 songs that DIDN'T crack the top 10! You and I with Crystal Gayle was my dad and stepmother's wedding song. Well it was just "You and I" for 19 years until their divorce this year! LMAO! Faves-Drivin' My Life Away, Step By Step, I Love a Rainy Night. Gerry Rafferty-After looking for years, I FINALLY found a compilation that included my fave song by him!(Listed below) And the compilation is great! He really has other great tunes! If you find this disc, called Baker Street, pick it up! Love Gerry's sound, and my youth was FILLED with Baker Street! Faves-Days Gone Down (Still Got the Light in Your Eyes), Baker Street, Right Down the Line, Get it Right Next Time, Wastin' Time. Rainbow-Love Rainbow and Ritchie Blackmore. First album was Blackmore's Rainbow. Had a different sound with early singer. With Dio it was metal, with Graham Bonnet it was straight rock, and with Joe Lynn Turner it was arena rock to hair band sound. Loved all three eras. Perfectionist Blackmore changed the lineup, one way or another, after each album. Actually PREFER them to Purple. Faves-All Night Long (sounds like Paul Stanley), Since You've Been Gone, Street of Dreams, Stone Cold, Can't Let You Go. Bonnie Raitt-They actually play her cover of Runaway on the timeless rock station from time to time. Her stuff is decent, and she made the Hall a few years ago, which should further piss off Chicago and Moodies fans. Faves-Nick of Time, Runaway, Thing Called Love (honorable mention). Ramones-My sweet, innocent little sister Carol has a wild side, she is a Ramones fan!! I'm not a fan of punk overall (although I prefer the American stuff like this over the British stuff from the time), but I give the Ramones big respect for helping bring rock back to basics. Also because they have big respect for the Beatles, Beach Boys, etc. Faves-Do You Remember Rock and Roll Radio?, Rock and Roll High School, Sheena is a Punk Rocker. And you?

Eddie Rabbit - Loved to hear his songs on the radio . I have Drivin' My Life Away and I Love a Rainy Night on cassette . Heard these both more than You and I - but I like it as well. RIP Eddie Faves - I Love a Rainy Night , Drivin' My Life Away and You and I Gerry Rafferty - Baker Street - Woo Hoo! I have City To City on vinyl , and burned Days Gone Done on to a compilation CD - good stuff! Faves - Baker Street , Home and Dry , Right Down The Line , Days Gone Down (Still Got The Light in Your Eyes) and Get it Right Next Time Rainbow - What tunes I've heard I really like. Faves - Stone Cold , All Night Long( it does sound like Paul:) and Since You've Been Gone Bonnie Raitt - She's had some great songs over the years. Love her slide guitar playing! I have quite a few of her tunes on different mix tapes and Runaway on a Time Life CD Faves - Don't it Make Ya Wanna Dance , Runaway , Thing Called Love , Love Letter , Longing in Their Hearts , Something To Talk About , Nick of Time , You , Not The Only One , Love Sneakin' Up on You , Real Man and Slow Ride Ramones - I'm not a huge fan , but I do like a few tunes, I too have alot of respect for them - they had a long career. Very simple - no more than three chords and I don't think any song was over two minutes plus nobody could count to four like Joey! Loved their "appearance" in the Simpsons LOL Faves - I Want You Around , Blitzkrieg Bop , Do You Remember Rock and Roll Radio? ,Rock and Roll High School and Baby I Love You.

Eddie Rabbit - His pop country stuff was really good. My mom had the biggest crush on him. Faves: I Love A Rainy Night, You & I, The Room At The Top Of The Stairs, You Can't Run From Love, Someone Could Lose A Heart Tonight Gerry Rafferty - I have the Baker Street album of which you mentioned. My parents 10 year anniversary song was "Right Down The Line"! Gerry was a staple played in the house of my youth. I didn't know until recently that he was in Stealer's Wheel and wrote Stuck In The Middle. Faves: Right Down The Line, Baker Street, Days Gone Down, Bring It All Home, City to City Rainbow - Nope. Not a fan. Bonnie Raitt - Are you implying that she shouldn't be in the Hall? Hee hee. I love Bonnie, she's awesome to see perform live. Faves: Not The Only One (I love this track!!), Nick of Time, Runaway, Love Me Like A Man, Love Has No Pride, I Can't Me You Love Me (love Bruce Hornsby piano on this), Have a Heart, Thing Called Love Ramones - Not as big a fan as a lot of my friends, but their music is pretty fun. Faves: The KKK Took My Baby Away, Rock & Roll Highschool, Judy Is A Punk, Blitzkrieg Bop

Eddie Rabbitt-Not a favorite on mine, but I do like some of his stuff. I like I Love a Rainy Night and Drivin' My Life Away. I used You and I for my first dance at my wedding. Not that it's "our song", but I liked it. Our real song is "You are so beautiful to me", just too slow to dance to. Gerry Rafferty-Not too sure who this is, sorry. Rainbow-Another one I don't know. Bonnie Raitt-She's OK, don't have any favorites though. Ramones- LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why?? I don't know, but I just really like them. No fancy guitar work or anything, just three chords. I got to see Joey Ramone in the Village once. They acted like regular guys, he was just walking down the street, no one bothered him. My favorites... I wanna be sedated. Rockaway Beach Sheena Cretin Family Lobotomy The Bird Just to name a few.

Eddie Rabbitt : Woooooo, I'm driving my life away...looking for a sunny day. Yeah man, one of the very very very very very few country artists I enjoyed back in the day. R.I.P. Seemed like a pretty cool guy and he played a good acoustic guitar. Nice work. Favorites = Driving My Life Way, Every Which Way But Loose, I Love a Rainy Night Gerry Rafferty : Underrated singer/songwriter who should have had more hits. "Baker Street" is a classic and has fantastic lyrics. Good, mellow voice. Probably was in the right place but the wrong time as his success was overshadowed by the disco craze. Favorites = Baker Street, Get It Right Next Time, Days Gone Down, Right Down the Line Rainbow : Haven't really heard much of them. Not the kind of music I enjoyed. Favorites = Stone Cold Bonnie Raitt : Overcame serious addiction issues to have a remarkable comeback in 1991/92. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with her earlier work. Will have to check her out some more. Favorites = Something To Talk About, I Can't Make You Love Me Ramones : Awesome!!!! Fun punk rock that you can bounce up and down to. R.I.P. Joey. Listened to them a lot in college. Was somewhat surprised that they made the Hall though but hey...they earned it. Favorites = I Wanna Be Sedated, Do You Remember Rock and Roll Radio, Rock and Roll High School, Blitz Chick

Eddie Rabbitt - Love his music! He and Ronnie Milsap are my favorite male country artists. My parents are both big fans of his, so I heard his music a lot while I was growing up, and I saw him perform at a local fair back in 1979! Great memories! Favorites: Suspicions, Drivin' My Life Away, Rocky Mountain Music, Gone Too Far, Pour Me Another Tequila, Two Dollars in the Jukebox, Hearts on Fire.
Gerry Rafferty - I definitely want to get that greatest hits compilation! Both his solo material and his work with Stealers Wheel are great. Favorites: Baker Street, Right Down the Line, Home and Dry, Days Gone Down, Get It Right Next Time.
Rainbow - I'm not familiar with much of their music beyond 'Stone Cold' and 'Street of Dreams'. What I've heard is pretty good, though.
Bonnie Raitt - Very talented musician. It was good to see her work get acclaim after so many years of not really experiencing the success she deserved. I've listened to some of her early work, and it's very good. Favorites: Got You On My Mind, Nick of Time.
Ramones - I'm not sure if I've heard any of their songs.

Good list once again.
Eddie Rabbitt--One of my top 5 fave country artists ever. Nice pleasing crossover-pop sound. Still liked his music a lot after his pop crossover days were through. RIP 1941-1998. Faves: I love a rainy night (also one of my mom's faves) Drivin' my life away Step by step Suspicions You and I (w/Crystal) Every which way but loose Someone could lose a heart tonight B-b-burnin' up with love The wanderer I wanna dance with you You can't run from love You put the beat in my heart Rocky mountain music I just want to love you I don't know where to start On second thought Drinkin' my baby off my mind You don't love me anymore Both to each other (w/Juice) Best year of my life Nothing like falling in love Hearts on fire Gone too far
Gerry Rafferty--you'd better believe it, my fave today. The biggest crime imaginable that he never wished to tour. Still, wonderful rock/pop music so overlooked today, and it played so great with Firefall, Pablo Cruise, Ambrosia and the like on AM pop radio playlists. "City to City" is one of the best albums ever, and "Night owl" is great too. Additionally, I LOVE his voice. As a bonus, I'll list Stealer's Wheel hits too, they're onderful. Faves: (LOOK OUT!) Baker Street (eternal top 1000) Home and dry Get it right next time Right down the line Days gone down (what a SUPER 5 top 40 hits those were) The royal mile (Sweet darlin') Whatever's written in your heart Stealin' time Night owl City to city Mattie's rag Waiting for the day Already gone The tourist Island Why won't you talk to me The ark It's gonna be a long night Wastin' away Stealer's Wheel: Stuck in the middle with you Star Everyone's agreed that everything will turn out fine Johnny's song Late again
Rainbow--What I've heard, I REALLY like! Hope to investigate further. Especially like the Turner era. Faves: Stone cold (Great video) Since YOU (no "'ve") been gone Street of dreams Man on the silver mountain Can't happen here Long live rock 'n roll I surrender Can't let you go Not familiar with "All night long".
Bonnie Raitt--Sorry. Not a fan. And strange, I do like the sort of mellow music, but maybe it's either her looks or her voice that got to me. One of the few Solid Gold performances that did not move me. And make those early 90's hits STOP!!!! ARRRRRGGHHHHH!!!!!! Only passable fave: Runaway (but still doesn't COMPARE to Del's original)
Ramones--Gee, I must like them enough, I have their "RamonesMania" cassette! But I don't listen to them all that much, but a deserved place in the Hall for getting american punk off the ground. RIP Joey AND DeeDee. Faves: (All to be found on "Mania") Sheena is a punk rocker Rockaway beach Blitzkreig bop Rock 'n roll high school Teenage lobotomy Do you remember rock 'n roll radio I wanna be sedated Gimme gimme shock treatment We want the airwaves Cretin hop Somebody put something in my drink Needles and pins KKK took my baby away I wanna live Animal boy
