You confuse me with your tastes! I thought you liked the hard rock/metal 80s acts? No? Well I do...but Rainbow seemed harder than what I usually listened to. I did like Ronnie James Dio's solo album in 84. I was more later 80's hair band metal and Van Ratt Leppard kinda guy. Yeah, my musical tastes are all over the map. Easy to be confused, lol

Eddie Rabbitt-I always liked hearing "I Love A Rainy Night" on the car radio, especially if it really WAS a rainy night! He wrote my favorite Elvis song, too (Kentucky Rain).
Gerry Rafferty-I always loved Baker Street and Right Down The Line (single edit). I have "City To City" on CD. I know Day's Gone Down, my sister mistakenly bought the 45 thinking it was "Gold" by John Stewart. She ended up giving it to me, it's an OK tune, but I haven't heard it in AGES!
Rainbow-Best with Dio and Bonnet. Joe Lynn Turner had a reputation in the 80's as being the guy that would join a heavy band and turn them into a "pop group". He was like the "default" singer, I'm surprised he never joined Sabbath during their "revolving door of vocalists" in the late 80's.
Bonnie Raitt-I have MUCHO respect for her talent, but I'm not a big fan of roadhouse blues.
Ramones-If I were to choose between the Ramones, The Pistols, or X, I would choose X, because they evolved over the years. The Ramones stayed exactly the same. They did a lot of great songs, some of them classics, but they also did a lot of duds ("Endless Vacation", anyone?). The first album is a classic. "End Of The Century" is a great album because it was produced by the legendary Phil Spector (who reportedly spent 10 hours mixing the opening CHORD to "Rock 'n Roll High School", and pulled a gun on Dee Dee at one point!). Anything they've done since is basically the same formula. Pick up "RamonesMania", it's all you need!

One of my favorite bands of all time on here!
Eddie Rabbit - he was ok. No strong feelings either way. No real favorites. You and I was played at my cousins wedding - dedicated by a happily married couple nonetheless.
Gerry Rafferty - only know Baker Street and Right Down The Line but I love both of them.
Rainbow - only know Stone Cold, and not really into it.
Bonnie Raitt - eh
RAMONES!!!! - One of my 10 all time favorites! Yes, their stuff all kind of sounds alike, but that's their kitsch! Saw them on their 20th Anniversary Tour, and they were great! 3+ hours of just straight out music. It was like "Hello Milton We're the Ramones" (music for over an hour) "I heard this place was buried on top of a Pet Semetary" (music for over an hour) "Thank you Milton We're the Ramones Goodnight" (done). I got an autographed picture and it's dear to me since Joey and DeeDee are gone. I'd be here all night listing favorites, but here's the very favorites: I Wanna Be Sedated, Judy Is A Punk, Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue, Blitzkreig Bop, Beat On The Brat, Bonzo Goes To Bittsburg (My Brain Is Hanging Upside Down), Howlin' At The Moon (She La La La), I'm Looking For Something To Believe In (Look for AL in the video!), R-A-M-O-N-E-S, Cabbies On Crack, Chinese Rock, Warthog, We're A Happy Family

Eddie Rabbitt--A friend of mine was a big fan of his, and she played his albums all the time. It made me become a fan of his as well. Never cared for You and I, though. Faves: Pour Me Another Tequila, Two Dollars in the Jukebox, Suspicions, Step By Step, I Love a Rainy Night, Drivin' My Life Away, Someone Could Lose A Heart Tonight, I Just Want to Love You (LOVE IT), many more...
Gerry Rafferty--I tend to not think about him much, but after I read your list of faves, it reminded me that he had some very good songs. I shall have to get a CD of his somewhere.
Rainbow--I know of them, but not familiar with any of their songs.
Bonnie Raitt--Now you're talkin'. Love her bluesy, country, rocky, folkie style of music. I loved the Nick of Time album so much, it made me check out her earlier stuff, and I liked it very much. She can play a mean slide guitar. And she's well respected in the music world. Two thumbs up! Faves (Long list, beware): Thing Called Love, Something to Talk About (both movie titles, too!), Love Sneakin' Up on You, I Can't Make You Love Me, Nick Of Time, Have a Heart, Runaway, Everybody's Cryin' Mercy, Woman Be Wise, You're Gonna Get What's Comin', I Will Not Be Denied, One Part Be My Lover (Love it), Feeling of Falling, Storm Warning, Give it Up or Let Me Go, Angel From Montgomery w/John Prine (LOVE it), The Glow, No Way to Treat a Lady, probably a lot more...
Ramones--I really like their music, and they looked like a fun bunch of guys. Faves: I Wanna Be Sedated, Blitzkrieg Bop, Sheena is a Punk Rocker, Rock and Roll High School, a few more...

Eddie Rabbitt - Love his music! He and Ronnie Milsap are my favorite male country artists. My parents are both big fans of his, so I heard his music a lot while I was growing up, and I saw him perform at a local fair back in 1979! Great memories! Favorites: Suspicions, Drivin' My Life Away, Rocky Mountain Music, Gone Too Far, Pour Me Another Tequila, Two Dollars in the Jukebox, Hearts on Fire. Gerry Rafferty - I definitely want to get that greatest hits compilation! Both his solo material and his work with Stealers Wheel are great. Favorites: Baker Street, Right Down the Line, Home and Dry, Days Gone Down, Get It Right Next Time. Rainbow - I'm not familiar with much of their music beyond 'Stone Cold' and 'Street of Dreams'. What I've heard is pretty good, though. Bonnie Raitt - Very talented musician. It was good to see her work get acclaim after so many years of not really experiencing the success she deserved. I've listened to some of her early work, and it's very good. Favorites: Got You On My Mind, Nick of Time. Ramones - I'm not sure if I've heard any of their songs. It's a great compilation! It's not really in the mainstream stores, but it must be out there, since Kitty has it too.

Good list once again. Eddie Rabbitt--One of my top 5 fave country artists ever. Nice pleasing crossover-pop sound. Still liked his music a lot after his pop crossover days were through. RIP 1941-1998. Faves: I love a rainy night (also one of my mom's faves) Drivin' my life away Step by step Suspicions You and I (w/Crystal) Every which way but loose Someone could lose a heart tonight B-b-burnin' up with love The wanderer I wanna dance with you You can't run from love You put the beat in my heart Rocky mountain music I just want to love you I don't know where to start On second thought Drinkin' my baby off my mind You don't love me anymore Both to each other (w/Juice) Best year of my life Nothing like falling in love Hearts on fire Gone too far Gerry Rafferty--you'd better believe it, my fave today. The biggest crime imaginable that he never wished to tour. Still, wonderful rock/pop music so overlooked today, and it played so great with Firefall, Pablo Cruise, Ambrosia and the like on AM pop radio playlists. "City to City" is one of the best albums ever, and "Night owl" is great too. Additionally, I LOVE his voice. As a bonus, I'll list Stealer's Wheel hits too, they're onderful. Faves: (LOOK OUT!) Baker Street (eternal top 1000) Home and dry Get it right next time Right down the line Days gone down (what a SUPER 5 top 40 hits those were) The royal mile (Sweet darlin') Whatever's written in your heart Stealin' time Night owl City to city Mattie's rag Waiting for the day Already gone The tourist Island Why won't you talk to me The ark It's gonna be a long night Wastin' away Stealer's Wheel: Stuck in the middle with you Star Everyone's agreed that everything will turn out fine Johnny's song Late again Rainbow--What I've heard, I REALLY like! Hope to investigate further. Especially like the Turner era. Faves: Stone cold (Great video) Since YOU (no "'ve") been gone Street of dreams Man on the silver mountain Can't happen here Long live rock 'n roll I surrender Can't let you go Not familiar with "All night long". Bonnie Raitt--Sorry. Not a fan. And strange, I do like the sort of mellow music, but maybe it's either her looks or her voice that got to me. One of the few Solid Gold performances that did not move me. And make those early 90's hits STOP!!!! ARRRRRGGHHHHH!!!!!! Only passable fave: Runaway (but still doesn't COMPARE to Del's original) Ramones--Gee, I must like them enough, I have their "RamonesMania" cassette! But I don't listen to them all that much, but a deserved place in the Hall for getting american punk off the ground. RIP Joey AND DeeDee. Faves: (All to be found on "Mania") Sheena is a punk rocker Rockaway beach Blitzkreig bop Rock 'n roll high school Teenage lobotomy Do you remember rock 'n roll radio I wanna be sedated Gimme gimme shock treatment We want the airwaves Cretin hop Somebody put something in my drink Needles and pins KKK took my baby away I wanna live Animal boy Check out All Night Long! Damn, how did I screw up the You not You've title??

Yeah, my musical tastes are all over the map. Easy to be confused, lol I dig ya. Rainbow was really before the Hair era, although the sound on the later Joe Lynn Turner stuff approached that sound.

Eddie Rabbitt - I really don't know any of his stuff. He's got one of those names that you can't really forget though. And I can't help but make fun of the name from time to time!
Gerry Rafferty - Not familiar with him.
Rainbow - Not familiar with them either. Have heard of them though.
Bonnie Raitt - Another female singer I totally respect. She's not someone I'd listen to all the time, but I do enjoy some of her music. Fave - Something to Talk About.
Ramones - Only song I know is Rock and Roll High School. They're pretty good. I have a lot of respect for them, but I wouldn't list them as a fave.

They sang the song that the credits rolled to for the movie Pet Semetary. (from the book by Steven King). The song is "I Don't Wanna Be Buried In A Pet Semetary" (and "cemetary" is misspelled in the titles).

Eddie Rabbit - Really good country artist. Have both Greatest Hits on vinyl. Favorites: Driving My Life Away, Love A Rainy Night, Rocky Mountain Music, Drinking My Baby Off My Mind.
Gerry Rafferty - Baker Street has one of the best sax solos ever. Had a nice little run, they kinda of faded away. Favorites: Baker Street, Right Down the Line, Geit It Right Next Time.
Rainbow - Deep Purple reincarnated. Great group, great sound. Have several albums on vinyl & tape. Favorites: All Night Long, Long Live Rock & Roll, Stargazer, Kill the King, Since You Been Gone, Starstruck.
Bonnie Raitt - Never really liked much of what she did.
Ramones - Can't recall anything I liked.
