Diana Ross - As big as her ego is, I still think her hair is bigger. Over the last few years, she seems to have gone completely bonkers, what with her DUI charges and fondling Lil Kim and that security guard at the airport. Oy. She's still an undeniable talent and a legend, but maybe she should stay away from the limelight for a while. Get back into rehab or whatever it takes. Still prefer the Supremes over her solo stuff, as does most everyone else. Faves - I'm Comin' Out, Ain't No Mountain High Enough, Upside Down, Touch Me in the Morning (there's something seriously wrong w/ that title), and Endless Love (w/ Lionel).
David Lee Roth - At least Diana Ross' ego is somewhat understandable. DLR is a mediocre talent, at best. The only solo piece of his that I liked was his cover of California Girls.
Roxette - They weren't bad. I don't really know a lot of their stuff, but It Must Have Been Love is great.
Roxy Music - Not familiar with them.
Billy Joe Royal - Never heard of him.

Fondling of Lil Kim? Fill me in on that one!! It was at some MTV Video Awards Show. I guess it's been two, maybe three, years now. Lil Kim was wearing this really risque outfit that covered one of her...assets, but the other only had this little piece of cloth over it in the shape of a seashell. Diana Ross was presenting with her, and when she saw Kim's outfit she had this really shocked reaction. But instead of "oh my gosh, how could she wear that?" it was a "oh how cute!". She then preceded to play w/ the seashell covered boobie.

Diana Ross - Her solo career is a bit "meh" for me, but I will admit that I like a few of her songs. I hate her personality however so these days I'd rather hear someone else sing her stuff. Faves: Ain't No Mountain High Enough, I'm Coming Out, Touch Me In The Morning, Love Theme from Mahogany DLR - Never liked his solo stuff. He is such a joke these days...he makes me sad. Roxette - Oy. I will grudgingly admit to liking "The Look" and "It Must Have Been Love" Roxy Music - Gawd! I was so into them in 8th grade. Anyway I still love a lot of their stuff. Faves: More Than This, Avalon, Dance Away, Pyjamarama, Virginia Plain, Jealous Guy, Over You Billy Joe Royal - Sorry, don't know him

What a joke, about that "not looking Miss Ross in the eyes" crap! That WAS some backup band Dave had! I remember Billy Sheehan being referred to as the Eddie Van Halen of bass guitar! I remember hearing something like that as well about Billy

Actually, this one was not work-related. I had to go to Gainesville, FL to help my son plus truckload of his stuff move back to DC area. He just got his master's degree in chemistry (gotta brag), and will be attending George Washington Law School this fall. (gotta brag again). ;D However, he'll be living with us until he gets a part-time job. (that part, none of us are too thrilled about.) It's a whole lot cheaper, but he's been out of the house for 7 years and we've been empty nesters. Oh well.

"If the molecular density is not greater than it's mass, then you must acquit". Ok, I know NOTHING about chemistry, but it sounded funny. Feel free to correct me. Tell your son congrats! That's quite the milestone. I finished with my associate's. I was tired of school. Now I wish I would have stuck it out. On to today's list: Diana Ross - don't like a thing after she left the Supremes. It's like the DJ's felt obligated to play her stuff again, and again, and again...... David Lee Roth - I never forgave him for leaving Van Halen, because they stank, and he never made it big. A no-win situation. Favorites: Yankee Rose, Claifornia Girls, Just A Gigolo/I Ain't Got Nobody (love the video), Just Like Livin In Paradise Roxette - liked their stuff up to Joyride. My college roommate had that cd. She only owned 4 others (they were expensive at the time). It got played a lot. Favorites: It Must Have Been Love, The Look, Dangerous Roxy Music - I liked them, but they got very little airplay around here. Favorites: Avalon, More Than This (LOVE this one) Billy Joe Royal - don't like any of the ones mentioned.

He wants to be a patent attorney. It helps to have some type of technical background prior to law school. Ok, that's weird. I don't remember typing I disagreeociates. It should say I finished with an associates degree. I don't get it. Anyway, that's really cool! My cousin's husband has a master's in engineering, and he's a technical consultant, so that makes sense.

Diana Ross-I went around for YEARS blaming her for the departure of Florence Ballard from the Supremes but according to a fan site dedicated to Florence, it was actually the latter's drinking problems which led to this decision. Anyway, I do tend to agree with the general consensus about Ms Ross--and I don't think the fact that Berry Gordy definitely favored her when she was recording for AND dating him helped any. I know I've heard Gladys Knight complain about those years. Anyway, I can't think of his name right now--oh ya! T J Lebinsky--the guy who puts together all those GREAT PBS specials said on the last one that he has a dream of reuniting Diana, Mary, and Cindy to sing on a future special. (Too bad Florence isn't still alive to be invited, too--I'm sure she would have conquered her problem by now) In the meantime, I will be content with the Ed Sullivan show segments I have and their appearances on my Hullabaloo DVDs. ;D Oh! Speaking of Ed: One of the song/video clips I've found from that show is of The Supremes and The Temptations singing a song--the title of which I can NOT remember at the moment-- Anyway, one would think it was Diana Ross being BACKED by the Supremes and the Temps--she is WAY out in front of the others! Finally, about half-way through the song (At least!) David Ruffin comes out of the shadows and joins in on lead. Roxette--Was this the group that had the "older woman" singer? I THINK I saw her and her daughter on Sally Jessy Rapheal sometime in the 80s because her daughter wanted her to quit singing because she was embarassed by her, and wanted a "normal" (More traditional) mom. Roxy Music-I didn't think I knew any of their songs, but I DO know "Love is the Drug"! Billy Joe Royal->>Faves-Cherry Hill Park, Down in the Boondocks. << Ditto. I was listening to an oldies station sometime within the past year and "Boondocks" came on. My daughter (One of 'em) was in the room and she said she liked that song. (Strange things happen every day. LOL!)
