Well another day, I guess. Oh well.
Dave pointed out I forgot one of his suggestions yesterday. That one is first.
Savage Garden-I know I Want You. I think that's it. Actually, my wife owns their SECOND CD. I don't think she has listened to it since she first bought it.
Scorpions-Their sound annoys me. Sort of generic metal, like Judas Priest. It's mostly Klaus Meine's voice that gets to me. I actually picked up a greatest hits cassette at a flea market for the few songs I can stand, plus it was only a buck. Faves-The Zoo, No One Like You, Rock You Like a Hurricane.
Seals & Crofts-I like these guys. Pure 70s. Is there another artist MORE in need of an updated compilation?? One greatest hits, and it was out before Get Closer. You would think this would be a "wonder where they are" artist, but I actually have an interview an unplugged one song performance from VH-1 from a few years back. Faves-Diamond Girl, Summer Breeze, Get Closer, Hummingbird, We May Never Pass This Way (Again).
Seal-Another Dave suggestion. Is Prayer for the Dying the same as Kiss From a Rose? Anyway, I know that song. It's all I care to know.
Searchers-In the lightweight British Invasion class. I personally rank them ahead of Freddie and Gerry. Good tunes, and I'd like to pick up a compilation. I know my dad has a Rhino collection on vinyl. Being in Chicago, I am more familiar with the Cryan' Shames version of Sugar & Spice at this point. Faves-Needles & Pins, Don't Throw Your Love Away, Love Potion Number 9.
You?

Have to be super brief, no time even for icons...
Savage Garden: Not a fan
Scorpions: Awesome German hard rock. Good stuff! Favorites = Still Loving You, Rock You Like a Hurricane, No One Like You
Seals & Crofts: Totally 70's sound. Pleasant. Favorites = Get Closer, Diamond Girl, Summer Breeze
Seal: Godawful melancholy music. One of many reasons I abandoned pop music from 1994 to 1999.
Searchers: Don't impress me

I gotta make it short today, I'm off to see the Blue Angels fly for SeaFair! Savage Garden - The one guy has a nice tenor voice but I don't like their music much at all. Scorpions - I share your opinion of this band and Klaus' voice although I would definitely put them way below Judas Priest. I think I would like the song "Rock You Like A Hurricane" if it wasn't my college alma mater's theme song. If I had a dime for everytime I heard a piece of this tune during my 4 years in Miami I would be wealthy beyond my dreams. Seals & Croft - Again I'm in agreement with you regarding the lack of a good greatest hits collection for these guys. It's very odd. Faves: Get Closer, Diamond Girl (my family made up alternate lyrics to this tune and I can't help singing these instead of the real ones whenever I hear this), Summer Breeze, Hummingbird Seal - Nice voice, and a good live performer. I actually don't own anything by him but I've seen him in concert twice. Strange huh? Faves: Kiss From A Rose, Show Me, Violet, If I Could (w/ Joni Mitchell), Love's Divine Searchers - I know "Don't Throw Your Love Away" and "When You Walk Into A Room" and I guess "Needles and Pins". I like those, and I definitely think they were better than other British groups of the era like Herman's Hermits.

Hey Adam. Sounds like you're still down. Hope things get better soon.
Savage Garden- Heard of them but don't know their music
Scorpions- Hardly know them at all, but my son had a song on a compilation, Winds of Change, that I really like. I think I've heard Rock You Like A Hurricane once or twice. Not sure.
Seals & Crofts- Never got very excited about them, but they do have a few songs I like: My fave is Summer Breeze Also like: Diamond Girl, I'll Play For You
Seal- Saw him on TV a few times. Not impressed.
Searchers- One of my fave early British Invasion groups. Many songs I like: When You Walk In The Room (all time top 250), Ain't That Just Like Me, Needles and Pins (Pinza??), Sugar and Spice, Some Day We're Gonna Love Again, Sweets For My Sweet (a very good cover of the Drifters hit) and a decent cover of the Clovers' Love Potion #9.

Savage Garden - I really liked their first album, (have it, actually) and Truly Madly Deeply is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. They had I Knew I Loved You after that, but not anything else that caught my attention. Faves - Truly Madly Deeply, I Want You, To the Moon and Back, I Knew I Loved You.
Scorpions - Heard of 'em. That's it.
Seals & Crofts - I'm ashamed to say that I'm not familiar with any of their music. I know, I know. It's a shame, ain't it?
Seal - He's got a great voice, but only one good song as far as I'm concerned. Fave - Kiss From a Rose. Ever seen that song in Pop-Up Video? Gotta love it.
Searchers - Not familiar with the music.

Well, let's see... Best artists today are Seals and Crofts and The Searchers..
Savage Garden-Generic late 90's pop. Not bad, but nothing spectacular. That first hit they had (I think it was called "I Want You") reminded me a little of Roxette.
Scorpions-I love 80's metal, but never really warmed up to these guys. The Zoo is a cool tune, though.
Seals & Crofts-I had a vinyl greatest hits that had 20 songs on it (I think it was a K-Tel album, or something like that). They should put THAT out on CD. It had "Get Closer", "You're The Love", and "My Fair Share", as well as all the other hits. Now I just have that OLD Greatest Hits on CD... Rhino, are you listening?
Seal-I got sick of "Kiss From A Rose" that summer of '95. Now that I don't hear it as much, I don't mind it. "Crazy" and "Don't Cry" were OK, nothing great...
Searchers-GREAT British Invasion group! Actually, If I rank my favorite British Invasion groups, they would come in third, behind The Beatles and The Hollies. The Rhino CD collection is EXCELLENT!!!

Savage Garden - I know I've heard some of their songs, but no titles come to mind.
Scorpions - Good 80's hard rock/metal band. I heard a lot of their music when I was in high school and shortly thereafter, and I still crank up 'Rock You Like a Hurricane' when I hear it! Favorites: Rock You Like a Hurricane, No One Like You, Big City Nights.
Seals & Crofts - One of my favorite artists of the 70's. Their songs bring back so many memories of childhood for me. You're right about there needing to be an updated compilation of their music - that current Greatest Hits is missing several great songs. The best hits compilation I know of is a K-tel compilation from 1979 called The Seals & Crofts Collection - it has all the hits. Favorites: Diamond Girl, You're the Love, Summer Breeze, Hummingbird, We May Never Pass This Way Again, Get Closer, King of Nothing.
Seal - I'm not much of a fan of 90's music in general, but I do like his songs. Favorites: Kiss From a Rose, Don't Cry, Prayer for the Dying.
Searchers - One of the more overlooked British Invasion acts nowadays, which is unfortunate, because they recorded some great songs that still hold up well today. Favorites: Love Ption #9, Needles and Pins, Don't Throw Your Love Away, Sugar and Spice.

Caught up. Not a fan of todays list.
Savage Garden - ew. Especially hate that Animal song.
Scorpions - their stuff all sounds alike
Seals & Crofts - no thanks
Seal - no, those songs are different but sound an awful lot alike. Detest his version of Fly Like An Eagle.
Searchers - ok. Favorites: Needles and Pins, Love Potion Number 9.

Savage Garden--What I know of theirs, I like. It's funny. One of their songs came on the radio the other day, and for some reason, I could remember the lead singer's first name (Darren, right?), and I couldn't remember the name of the group. That was frustrating. When the song was over, the dj told the group, so then I felt better. ;D Scorpions--Don't like them at all. Ick. Yuk. Seals & Crofts--Lots of childhood memories for me. Like them a lot. My dad, being the jokester that he was, called them "Arts and Crafts". Seal--Not bad. Ok to listen to once in awhile, although he wouldn't be my first choice. Searchers--I don't know too much by them. The couple of songs I do know are pretty good. Might investigate further someday.

Great, mostly of a light variety ('cept the Scorpions!).
Savage Garden--Part of the last breed of good curent music (as it was 1997-2000). Top 40 music of today now wouldn't DARE touch this, and if any like groups are out today with this type of good stuff, it would go to either AC, Hot AC, or AAA (easy listening, adult top 40, and adult alternative to the layman). Absolutely LOVED "I want you" on initial impact, and in the last year of GREAT music, it was in a TOUGH field of my top 10 songs of the year. Their ballads are good too, never tire of them if music channels are playing them. Not really Air Supply, not quite LRB for Aussie acts. Darren Hayes (the lead) had a good solo album out last year as well. Have their first 3 cassingles (Truly Madly Deeply was limited), as well as the "Affirmation" CD. Quite sad hearing of their breakup a couple years ago--they could've gone even farther. Faves: I want you (Doing an updated list today, easy top 200) Truly madly deeply To the moon and back The animal song (Sorry Railyn) I knew I loved you Crash and burn Tears of pearls Affirmation Two beds and a coffee machine Break me shake me Chained to you Promises
Scorpions--even Klaus has a weird SPEAKING voice! (believe me, no offense to English-speaking Germans) Good quality heavy hitting rock, Rudolf is one KILLER guitarist! One group, however, I've never raved over their ballads as much. Faves: Rock you like a hurricane No one like you Rhythm of love Big city nights Tease me please me Blackout I can't explain Bad boys running wild The zoo Animal magnetism Hit between the eyes We let it rock, you let it roll Crazy world Dynamite Virgin killer Holiday Coast to coast Make it real Lovedrive Wind of change (I do like the message of the song anyway) Catch your train Hell cat Speedy's coming Can't get enough Backstage queen Lust or love You give me all I need Ship of fools Can't live without you Still loving you Loving you Sunday morning Crying days Pictured life Another piece of meat Send me an angel (almost didn't want to list this)
Seal--I'm quite sure this Nigerian born Brit still records, but VERY sporadically (albums in 1991, 1994, 1998, and 2002 so far). Very pleasant, distinct voice, "Rose" desrved to win its Grammys--one of the 90's nicest ballads. And I've always LOVED "Crazy" from Day 1. Faves: Crazy (GREAT mellow "euro" sound) Kiss from a rose (one of the biggest hits to feature an...OBOE!) Prayer for the dying (quite Floyd-ish) The beginning Don't cry Newborn friend I'm alive Killer Human beings If I could Wild State of grace
Seals & Crofts--YES! My fave today! I could hear all their hits over and over again and never tire of them. Indeed, Rhino should get wind of a compilation (have Firefall, Bread, America, et al)! "You're the love" is simply one of the most perfect songs EVER recorded! I guess the Seals family is a great musical family! (Jim Seals is a brother of England Dan, plus 3 cousins are good country singers) Faves: Summer breeze (now you know why I LOVE "kiddie" pianos!) (eternal top 1000) You're the love (that break sounds VERY disco!) Get closer (fine vocal backing by the Honey Cone's Carolyn Wills) Hummingbird (I cry at the ending) We may never pass this way again (I have goosebumps just TYPING it!) Diamond girl (SHOO DA SHA! As I said at age 4) I'll play for you East of Ginger trees My fair share King of nothing Unborn child Advance guards Ruby Jean and Billie Lee Castles in the sand Takin' it easy Baby I'll give it to you Goodbye old buddies The Euphrates Tin town 'Cause you love Sudan village Yellow dirt Hand me down shoe Ridin' thumb Granny will your dog bite Cotton mouth Hollow reed
Searchers--no-nonsense British invasion music, but many tunes were remakes (still good tho!). Rhino's Britixh Invasion series could have used even more of their songs (Might get the Rhino compilation soon). Faves: Love potion #9 (great drumming) Needles ands pins (uh!) Don't throw your love away Sugar and spice (Not quite as good as the Cryan' Shames remake) Bumble bee When you walk in the room Ain't that just like me What have they done to the rain He's got no love Goodbye my lover goodbye

I have no clue what the other guy's name is...
