Savage Garden - The one guy has a nice tenor voice but I don't like their music much at all.

Scorpions - I share your opinion of this band and Klaus' voice although I would definitely put them way below Judas Priest. I think I would like the song "Rock You Like A Hurricane" if it wasn't my college alma mater's theme song. If I had a dime for everytime I heard a piece of this tune during my 4 years in Miami I would be wealthy beyond my dreams.

Seals & Croft - Again I'm in agreement with you regarding the lack of a good greatest hits collection for these guys. It's very odd. Faves: Get Closer, Diamond Girl (my family made up alternate lyrics to this tune and I can't help singing these instead of the real ones whenever I hear this), Summer Breeze, Hummingbird

Seal - Nice voice, and a good live performer. I actually don't own anything by him but I've seen him in concert twice. Strange huh? Faves: Kiss From A Rose, Show Me, Violet, If I Could (w/ Joni Mitchell), Love's Divine

Searchers - I know "Don't Throw Your Love Away" and "When You Walk Into A Room" and I guess "Needles and Pins". I like those, and I definitely think they were better than other British groups of the era like Herman's Hermits.

Did the Blue Angels perform to Van Halen's Dreams?

Seal- Saw him on TV a few times. Not impressed.

Searchers- One of my fave early British Invasion groups. Many songs I like: When You Walk In The Room (all time top 250), Ain't That Just Like Me, Needles and Pins (Pinza??), Sugar and Spice, Some Day We're Gonna Love Again, Sweets For My Sweet (a very good cover of the Drifters hit) and a decent cover of the Clovers' Love Potion #9.

Yep, still down. Haven't gotten better yet.

Savage Garden-Generic late 90's pop. Not bad, but nothing spectacular. That first hit they had (I think it was called "I Want You") reminded me a little of Roxette.

Scorpions-I love 80's metal, but never really warmed up to these guys. The Zoo is a cool tune, though.

Seals & Crofts-I had a vinyl greatest hits that had 20 songs on it (I think it was a K-Tel album, or something like that). They should put THAT out on CD. It had "Get Closer", "You're The Love", and "My Fair Share", as well as all the other hits. Now I just have that OLD Greatest Hits on CD... Rhino, are you listening?

Seal-I got sick of "Kiss From A Rose" that summer of '95. Now that I don't hear it as much, I don't mind it. "Crazy" and "Don't Cry" were OK, nothing great...

Searchers-GREAT British Invasion group! Actually, If I rank my favorite British Invasion groups, they would come in third, behind The Beatles and The Hollies. The Rhino CD collection is EXCELLENT!!!

Never thought about it, but it does sound Roxette like.

Seals & Crofts - One of my favorite artists of the 70's. Their songs bring back so many memories of childhood for me. You're right about there needing to be an updated compilation of their music - that current Greatest Hits is missing several great songs. The best hits compilation I know of is a K-tel compilation from 1979 called The Seals & Crofts Collection - it has all the hits. Favorites: Diamond Girl, You're the Love, Summer Breeze, Hummingbird, We May Never Pass This Way Again, Get Closer, King of Nothing.

Seal - I'm not much of a fan of 90's music in general, but I do like his songs. Favorites: Kiss From a Rose, Don't Cry, Prayer for the Dying.

Searchers - One of the more overlooked British Invasion acts nowadays, which is unfortunate, because they recorded some great songs that still hold up well today. Favorites: Love Ption #9, Needles and Pins, Don't Throw Your Love Away, Sugar and Spice.

I don't think I hear the Searchers stuff on the oldies station even anymore.

Seal - no, those songs are different but sound an awful lot alike. Detest his version of Fly Like An Eagle.

Seals & Crofts--Lots of childhood memories for me. Like them a lot. My dad, being the jokester that he was, called them "Arts and Crafts".

Seal--Not bad. Ok to listen to once in awhile, although he wouldn't be my first choice.

Searchers--I don't know too much by them. The couple of songs I do know are pretty good. Might investigate further someday.

Savage Garden--Part of the last breed of good curent music (as it was 1997-2000). Top 40 music of today now wouldn't DARE touch this, and if any like groups are out today with this type of good stuff, it would go to either AC, Hot AC, or AAA (easy listening, adult top 40, and adult alternative to the layman). Absolutely LOVED "I want you" on initial impact, and in the last year of GREAT music, it was in a TOUGH field of my top 10 songs of the year. Their ballads are good too, never tire of them if music channels are playing them. Not really Air Supply, not quite LRB for Aussie acts. Darren Hayes (the lead) had a good solo album out last year as well. Have their first 3 cassingles (Truly Madly Deeply was limited), as well as the "Affirmation" CD. Quite sad hearing of their breakup a couple years ago--they could've gone even farther.

Seal--I'm quite sure this Nigerian born Brit still records, but VERY sporadically (albums in 1991, 1994, 1998, and 2002 so far). Very pleasant, distinct voice, "Rose" desrved to win its Grammys--one of the 90's nicest ballads. And I've always LOVED "Crazy" from Day 1.

Seals & Crofts--YES! My fave today! I could hear all their hits over and over again and never tire of them. Indeed, Rhino should get wind of a compilation (have Firefall, Bread, America, et al)! "You're the love" is simply one of the most perfect songs EVER recorded! I guess the Seals family is a great musical family! (Jim Seals is a brother of England Dan, plus 3 cousins are good country singers)

Searchers--no-nonsense British invasion music, but many tunes were remakes (still good tho!). Rhino's Britixh Invasion series could have used even more of their songs (Might get the Rhino compilation soon).

Seals & Crofts-Whenever I hear "Summer Breeze" I think of running (Or walking--depending on how "Cool" I wanted to be that day. LOL!) out our screen door, down the slope, and into and through the neighbor's screen door. (And vice-versa. LOL!)

Still hard for me to believe that the "Seals" in this duo is the same Seals as in country music. I think I actually prefer the latter. (I like the song he sang with Marie Osmond!)

Searchers-Know something? It was not until JUST a few short months ago when I heard/saw them singing "Love Potion #9" on my DVD copy of the PBS British Invasion reunion special that I realized that ALL these years I have been singing this song WRONG:

It is, apparently, "...gypsy with the gold capped tooth" NOT the one with "the gold tatoo" (LOL!)

Oh ya...they also sing on my Hullabaloo DVD (One of 'em at least) I enjoy doing a "side-by-side" comparison of them--then and "now". (Btw: It seems to actually be the same people--or mostly the same--in BOTH versions of the band)

1. Savage Garden - My kids have got a couple of their CDs, and I'm sure I've heard their music on the radio. Just can't tell you anything more about them. I'll have to listen to the CDs.

2. Scorpions - Rock You Like a Hurricane & Still Loving You are the only songs I know, but they're good ones.

3. Seals & Croft - Another great duo from the 70s. I have several of the albums on vinyl, most are well played. Never get tired of their music. Definately agree with the "Where are they Now?" question. Favorites: Get Closer, Summer Breeze, Hummingbird, We May Never Pass this Way Again

4. Seal - Not real familiar with him.

5. Searchers - Light weight 60s British rock. About as close as they will ever get to the Beatles is the fact both are from Liverpool. Prefer the Clovers version of Love Potion and Needles & Pins was ok, I guess. Nothing real special.
