Lookin' good!Frank Sinatra--Fully agree with you Sat--the young generation liking this and not the 70's soft rock/pop? What's UP with that? Plus he's never been out of the spotlight of fine entertainers for over 60 years now. Sure, he died 5 years ago, but his death hardly moved me. Even my mom doesn't like him too much. I'd MUCH rather listen to Bing Crosby, Perry Como, and especially Doris Day and Dinah Shore! Still, I can't deny the man's legend, and he's had SOME good songs. Steveman and Kellykoop from the ol' YL club, I dedicate this one for you!
Faves:
Somethin' stupid (with Nancy) (LOVE the orchestration)
All or nothing at all
Five minutes more
Love and marriage
That's life (cool organ)
Learnin' the blues
Young at heart
New York, New York
High hopes
Chicago
Saturday night is the loneliest night of the week
My way (My dad absolutely LOVES this)
I've got the world on a string
Come fly with me
Strangers in the night (Doo be doo be doo...)
Love is the tender trap
Night and day
Fly me to the moon
The lady is a tramp
Hey jealous lover
Three coins in the fountain
Nice 'n easy
Nancy with the laughing face
It was a very good year
Luck be a lady
I get a kick out of you
All the way
Mam'selle
I've got you under my skin
Summer wind
Witchcraft
From here to eternity
Birth of the blues
Cycles
Me and my shadow
(Hmmm...more than I thought!)
Nancy Sinatra--Unquestionably, my fave today! That mean ol' sex kitten! ;D Love most of her hits A LOT, have her Rhino CD. Most songs should go WAY up on my updated CRAZY list in a couple years.

Light my fire

What'll I do
Not the lovin' kind
For once in my life
Percy Sledge--very overlooked soul singer today. Much more than his debut smash "Woman". I do tire of it sometimes, but it's a soul masterpiece nonetheless. Other top 40 hits were good, too.
Faves:
When a man loves a woman
Take time to know her
It tears me up
Warm and tender love
Cover me
Out of left field
Just out of reach
Smashing Pumpkins--liked them long before they really took off big. "Gish" from 1991 is GREAT. Not too hard for alternative, not minding Billy's voice too much. Seems like a lot of the good 90's bands have broken up; this was one of them. RIP Jonathan Melvoin.
Faves:
1979
The end is the beginning is the end (from Batman and Robin film)
Ava adore
Daydream
Suffer
I am one
Bullet with butterfly wings
Bury me
Tonight, tonight
Perfect
Drown
Today
Landslide
Zero
Disarm
Thirty-three
Window paine
Muzzle
Crush
Cherub rock
Luna
Rhinoceros
Eye
We only come out at night
Heavy metal machine
Believe
Fristessa
Take me down
Mellon collie and the infinite sadness
God
X.Y.U.
Marquis in spades
Transformer
Rotten apples
Pastichio medley
Blue
For Martha
Pug
Stand inside your love
Soma
Mouths of babes
Silverf-ck
Rocket
The everlasting gaze
Hello Kitty Kat
Snail
Bodies
Spaceboy
Pennies
The aeroplane flies high
J.D. Souther--good singer I know surprisingly little about. Only recall hearing "Falling in love" from 1974 a couple times. But his 2 biggies are great, have both on CD.
Faves--
You're only lonely
Her town too (with James Taylor)
Fallin' in love (Souther Hillman Furay Band) (not the Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds tune)
I'd rather listen to Bing too!
Ok Dave, trivia-Jonathan Melvoin is the brother of who?
