Glad you're feeling better. Has Martina arrived yet? Spinners: I like them - not a fan of their medlies, though. Favorites: Games People Play, Rubberband Man, Then Came You, One Of A Kind, and Could It Be I'm Falling In Love Spirit - not familiar. Split Enz - I know the name, but I'm not coming up with any familiar songs. Dusty Springfield - love Dusty - love her voice. Favorites: Son Of A Preacher Man, I Only Want To Be With You, What Have I Done To Deserve This (w/Pet Shop Boys) Rick Springfield - He's ok. The slightly older girls than me (ie: my cousin's age - she's 4 years older) were more into him. He's still good to look at. I like his stuff - nothing in particular stands out for me, but I am tired of Jesse's Girl. Thank you. No, unfortunately Martina has not arrived yet. Oh, and neither has the picture of her you sent me.

Caught by the blackout tonight, but I'm here now! Spinners--My fave today. Timeless soul, period. Had some of the 70's best songs, nothing less. One of my fave CD's is Rhino's "Best of" them. Faves: Could it be I'm falling in love Games people play "They just cant stop it" Then came you (w/Dionne) Cupid/I've loved you for a long time Rubberband man I'll be around Working my way back to you It's a shame Mighty love One of a kind love affair How could I let you get away Ghetto child I'm coming home Sadie Love don't love nobody That's what girls are made for Living a little, laughing a little If you wanna do a dance Yesterday once more I'll always love you Funny how time slips away Spirit--should look into them more. Randy California was indeed one of rock's best understated guitarists. I believe Ed Cassidy, the drummer, was born back around 1925. Great stuff. Faves: I got a line on you (sounds more 1972 than 1968/69) Nature's way Animal zoo 1984 Mr. skin Split Enz--good rock. Not big on anything on theirs except "I got you"--L-O-V-E the synths and organ!!! Faves: I got you 6 months in a leaky boat (I vaguely remember this on MTV) One step ahead Dusty Springfield--should get a compilation before long. Wonderful singer indeed. Fave hits (1964-1969): (I could do without the PSB song, LOL) I only want to be with you Wishin' and hopin' Son of a preacher man Stay awhile You don't have to say you love me The look of love A brand new me All cried out The windmills of your mind All I see is you What's it gonna be Rick Springfield--My second fave today. In my school classes, boys liked his music just as much as the girls did. Primarily a chick-driven 80's rock institution, he's still one of the best male singers ever! Have a CD of his best. Faves: Don't talk to strangers Speak to the sky (Man, I LOVE this! US debut from 1972) Affair of the heart I've done everything for you Love somebody Celebrate youth Love is alright tonite What kind of fool am I Take a hand Human touch Rock of life Jessie's girl (no denying it's a classic) Souls Don't walk away Bruce Kristina Bop til you drop I get excited Tao of heaven How do you talk to girls What would the children think Taxi dancing Beautiful feelings Red hot and blue love Light of love Tiger by the tail Honeymoon in Beirut American girl (not to be confused w/ a minor 1974 hit "Am. Girl S". Living in Oz When the lights go down State of the heart (How this got to be a bigger hit than "Youth" has always ANGERED me) Soul to soul Itsalwayssomething (an attempted 1999 comeback) Ed has to be the all time oldest guy in rock. If not, at least the oldest person when in his prime!

Spinners--Great group. I listened to them a lot when I was younger. I have several of their 45's, but oddly, never had an album of theirs. Maybe I'll find something on CD someday. Spirit--I think the only one I know is I Got a Line on You. Great tune! Split Enz--Know the name, but can't place any songs. Dusty Springfield--Always liked her. She had a great voice. Very talented. Rick Springfield--Never liked him as a "teen idol", but he did have quite a few decent songs that I enjoy listening to. Saw a "Behind the Music" on him a few months ago. Very interesting. Get the single disc collection from Rhino. It's complete.

Glad you're feeling better, Adam. Spinners- Great group! One of those that took quite a while to be appreciated by the mainstream. Top fave: Could It Be I'm Falling In Love (Top 250!) Other faves: I'll Be Around, It's A Shame, Games People Play, One Of A Kind Love Affair,. Spirit- Only know I've Got A Line On You. Not bad. Split Enz- Don't know them. Dusty Springfield-Fine singer. I mentioned on another post that I thought there was a bit of R&B in her music. Faves; You Don't Have to Say You Love Me, Wishin' and Hopin', I Only Want To Be With You, Silver Threads and Golden Needles (with the Springfields), Son Of A Preacher Man, Don't Forget About Me. (We won't forget about you, Dusty. RIP) Rick Springfield- Well, to begin with, I never watched General Hospital. I'm familiar with Jesse's Girl (very good song), Don't Talk To Strangers (eh) and Affair of the Heart (not bad). That's about it. Thanks, H2. I'm glad I am able to feel better. Definate R&B touch to Dusty.

I feel like I'm living in a time warp. I could've sworn that I answered this post yesterday! I feel like a dork - this segment is filled with some of my favorite artists too. Spinners - One of the poppiest of the 70s soul bands. I just love their stuff. Faves: Could It Be I'm Falling In Love, Games People Play, I'll Be Around, One of A Kind (Love Affair Here), Love Don't Love Nobody Spirit - I know a few tunes but they don't stand out for me. Split Enz - Yay! Gawd! How I love Neil Finn. Anything that he does I love. Split Enz was of course my first exposure to his brilliance. Faves: I Got You, History Never Repeats, I Hope I Never, 6 Months In A Leaky Boat, One Step Ahead, Message To My Girl Dusty Springfield - A little overrated if you ask me. She did have a nice tone to her voice though. Faves: Son of A Preacher Man (but this was WAY overplayed when "Pulp Fiction" came out), I Just Don't KNow What To Do With Myself, Look of Love Rick Springfield - One of the best musicians to see play live!! I've seen him in concert 4 times and I've never been disappointed. I love his poppy rock. It's great driving music! Brings back a lot of junior high memories. Faves: Love Somebody, I've Done Everything For You, Love Is Alright Tonight, State of The Heart, Affair of the Heart, Don't Talk To Strangers, Jessie's Girl, Human Touch, Speak to The Sky Isn't Neil Finn or one of the other guys from Crowded House friends with Eddie Vedder?

Spinners - Real good R&B group. In the same class as EWF. Favorites: I'll Be Around, Rubberband Man, Working My Way Back to You, Cupid. Spirit - Very underrated group, probably because they only had 1 top 40. Geared more to the FM audience of the time. Good band though. Favorites: I Got a Line on You, 1984. Spilt Enz - ? Dusty Springfield - One of the leading ladies of England. Great sound, great voice. Favorites: I Only Want to be With You, Wishin' & Hopin', Son of a Preacher Man, Windmills of your Mind. Rick Springfield - Definately a teen idol. Did a couple of good songs. Favorites: Speak to the Sky, Don't Talk to Strangers, Affair of the Heart. Dusty will probably always be remembered as the number one female out of England.

Well, don't worry then. I'll have a talk with her! Sat has tried many, many times to convince me to watch Bring it On. It's fallen on deaf ears. Just not my kind of movie. Sowwy!

How do you know if it's not your kind of movie if you don't give it a chance? I didn't think I'd like it either, but it is really really funny. Seriously, you should give it a chance.

Oh, I've read about it and I've seen previews of it. Just doesn't look like the kind of movie I'd be interested in.

Spinners-Pick of the litter was the first album I ever won from a radio station. (No actually that was a Diana Ross album--but I took a t-shirt instead. LOL!) I like the Spinners' LP so I didn't replace it with a t-shirt. Faves-most all their hits Spirit->>Absolutely love I Got a Line on You<< Same here. ;D Dusty Springfield->>Didn't she go in the Hall a year or two ago?<< In case no one answered this (I didn't see it, but maybe I just overlooked it): Yes, she did. Sadly it was right after she died as a result of breast cancer. (Or maybe she was still alive, but too ill to attend. In any case she died right around the time) On a happier note, I have her singing one of her songs on one of my Hullabaloo DVDs. Unfortunately, it is not one of her hits. (Too bad I can't remember now what it is. LOL) But I still like it. ;D
