Finishing up the S's today!!
Keith Sweat-Suggestion from Dave. Don't know him, but I think I know the type of music. Not my style. Faves-none.
Sweet-Only one I like today. Only remember Little Willy growing up. Didn't hear their more rockin' stuff until my adult years. The only bubblegum metal band! LOL! Glad my wife got me their greatest hits. Good stuff on their! Big influence on Def Leppard. Faves-Little Willy, Ballroom Blitz, California Nights, Fox on the Run, Action.
Swing Out Sister-Suggestion from Dave, would've been included anyway. Sort of jazzy pop. I HATED Breakout with a passion, and my dad used to antagonize me with it since he DID like it. Twilight World wasn't much better. Faves-Neither.
Sylvers-I THINK I know Hot Line, so I included them. Definitely know Boogie Fever, so I thought I may as well put them in and finish of the S's. Don't like either song. Faves-Neither.
Sylvester-Suggestion from Dave. I only know You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real). It's ok. Fave-You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real).
Sylvia-Suggestion from Dave. This is for the country-pop singer, not the R&B singer. Faves-none.
S's are done, man!!
And you?

Only one I'm even remotely familiar with is Keith Sweat. I don't know the others at all!
Yay! We're done with S's!
BTW, I've been listening to this internet radio station called AccuBroadway lately, and I finally heard my first Dinah Shore song. I was right when I said I'd probably like her. She's great! Sounds a lot like Doris Day. Well, she did on the song I heard, anyway.

Here we go...
Keith Sweat - I don't mind R&B but I've never been that into Keith's stuff. I think he's from my hometown so I should like him right? Seriously, I do like one of his songs called "Don't Stop Your Love".
Sweet - Yay! probably my fave today on the list. Their hammy glam metal was so fun. They were so big at one point I don't get why their stuff isn't played more today. Faves: Fox On The Run, Love is Like Oxygen (long version only), Blockbuster, Wig-wam Bam, Ballroom Blitz
Swing Out Sister - Unique, jazzy pop. Am I the only person who loves the song "Break Out"? I know so many people who hate it. I have like 5 different remix versions of it that I've downloaded because I love it so much. They had other tunes that I like too. Faves: Break Out, Am I the Same Girl, La la Means I Love You, Twilight World, Surrender.
Sylvers - Nice family disco group. They were like a combination of DeBarge, The Jacksons, and Sister Sledge. I had their album when I was 8 and I wore it out. They had the most perfect afros I have ever seen except for Neal Schon and my dad. Anyway, they had some nice groovy tunes. Faves: Boogie Fever, Misdemeanor, Hot Line, Ain't No Doubt About It, Cotton Candy, That's What Love Is Made Of
Sylvester - Transgendered disco queen. Very soulful disco if that makes sense. Faves: You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real), Dance (Disco Heat), Do You Wanna Funk, Band Of Gold, Stars, I Who Have Nothing
Sylvia - Don't know her

Keith Sweat - The name is familiar - but that's about it - no song titles are coming to mind . Sweet -Easily my fave today! I've loved these guys ever since I heard Little Willy as a kid. They had such a great sound! I would LOVE to find that first album on Bell Records - hopefully one of these days:) RIP Brian and Mick. Faves - Action , Burn On The Flame (sound alot like Deep Purple!) Need a Lot of Lovin' ,Hellraiser, Fox On The Run , Blockbuster , Wig Wam Bam, The Ballroom Blitz , Love is Like Oxygen,Teenage Rampage , California Nights ,The Six Teens , C*ckroach, Sixties Man, Medussa, and New York Connection. Swing Out Sister - Once again - the name's familiar otherwise drawing a blank. Sylvers - Loved Boogie Fever and Hotline - still do. I also remember Foster Sylvers '73 hit Misdemeanor. Faves - Boogie Fever and Hot Line Sylvester - The only tune I remember is Dance (Disco Heat) Faves - Dance (Disco Heat) Sylvia - I thought she was very cute I remember seeing her on Solid Gold singing Nobody . Remember it getting alot of airplay. I liked the song quite alot but it's the only song of her's I'm familiar with Faves - Nobody

Yikes Keith Sweat: Decent late 80's "New Jack" r&b. Came and went. Had a good voice. Favorites = I Want Her, How Deep Is Your Love, Make You Sweat Sweet: They're okay I guess. I'm not as big of a fan as many of you guys are. It's all good though Favorites = Little Willy, Fox on the Run Swing Out Sister: Eh...I used to like Breakout when it was current. Hasn't aged well. That's all I know by them. Sylvers: A total Jackson 5 clone. Even sounded the same. Seems like there were more of them though. Remember them from American Bandstand wearing some funky spacesuit-looking outfits. Ah, the styles of the seventies . Enjoyed them only because I like virtually anything I can dance to. Favorites = Hot Line, Boogie Fever Sylvester: Goodness, what a falsetto. Along with Ricky Wilson of the B-52's was one of the first musicians lost to AIDS. A blip on the disco radar screen. R.I.P. Favorites = You Make Me Feel Mighty Real Sylvia: Cute country singer. Only know her one hit, which was pretty good. Favorites = Nobody Bring on the "T"s ;D

Keith Sweat - I've probably heard some of his music, but no titles come to mind.
Sweet - GREAT group! I've loved their stuff ever since I was very young. I should get that greatest hits someday. Favorites: Fox on the Run (excellent!), Ballroom Blitz, Little Willy, Love is Like Oxygen, Action.
Swing Out Sister - Like Kitty, I like 'Breakout' a lot, and absolutely love 'Twilight World'. I really love their jazzy sound.
Sylvers - 'Boogie Fever' was a big fave of mine back in the day - I still have the 45. 'Hot Line' and 'High School Dance' are good also, as is Foster Sylvers' 'Misdemeanor' - that one reminds me of early Jackson 5 songs.
Sylvester - I only know his two biggest hits, 'Dance (Disco Heat)' and 'You Make Me Feel Mighty Real' - both are great.
Sylvia - One of my favorite country singers. Her music is very overlooked nowadays for some reason, but it was quite good, very similar in style to Crystal Gayle's. I love to sing along with her songs, and because her range is very similar to mine, I actually don't sound too bad! LOL Favorites: Drifter (in my top 10 country songs), The Matador, Nobody, Snapshot, Heart on the Mend, Tumbleweed.

Looking super today! ;D Keith Sweat--His earliest stuff was EASILY his best; gave R & B of the late 80's a new, cool "new jack sound"! I just could NOT see what the big deal was with his 1996 album, though, which contained the top 3 hits "Twisted" and "Nobody"--his only 2 I really dislike. And his 3 albums since didn't do much for me. Faves: I want her (LOVED this since Day 1, 1988's best R & B tune!) Keep it comin' (prominently samples "Jungle boogie") Make you sweat Why me baby Get up on it Something just ain't right When I give my love Merry go round Your love Make it last forever Come and get with me I'm not ready I'll give all my love to you (rather mushy) Sweet--Like most others, my fave today. When I was growing up, virtually ZILCH AM radio play, perhaps the most play on top 40 stations up till around 1984. The Click knows what they're talking about!; virtually NONE of my school buddies know of them! Absolutely decent. Faves: Ballroom blitz Little Willy Love is like oxygen Fox on the run (all in my top 2000) Action (LOVE the end) Blockbuster Funk it up (David's song) Wig wam bam Co co California nights Hell raiser No you don't The 6 teens Man from Mecca Keep it in Lady starlight Sweet F.A. Spotlight She gimme lovin' New York connection Fever of love Strong love Swing Out Sister--Yes! Count me in as a fan as well! From day 1, LOVED their blend of pop & jazz (not to mention some teasing in school), say nothing of Corinne Drewery's bob-haircut. Look for "Breakout" high on my CRAZY list! My fave of the fall '87! Subsequent tunes were awesome as well, Twilight World even hit my top 5. DYING to get my hands on a Hits CD, even if it's a $30 import. Faves: (Big list!) Breakout (eternal top 500) Twilight world Am I the same girl Waiting game Surrender Notgonnachange You on my mind Somewhere in the world It's better to travel La la means I love you Tainted Kaleidoscope affair Where in the world Get in touch with yourself It's not enough Precious words After hours Fooled by a smile Don't say a word Masquerade Forever blue Heart for hire Communion Sylvers--fine family act. Yes, I confuse 'em with the Jacksons sometimes. But they had some fun tunes! Faves: Boogie fever (should be in many people's top 1000) Misdemeanor (Foster solo) High school dance Hot line Cotton candy Any way you want me Wish that I could talk to you Fool's paradise Stay away from me Sylvester--A truly great disco original. Unmatched falsetto, fine vocal backing by the Two Tons o'Fun (later the Weather Girls; Martha Wash & Izora Rhodes). Crushed to hear of his passing in 1988, LOVED "Disco heat" all over again earlier that year. "Step II" is a must for any disco collector. Faves: Dance (Disco heat) (eternal top 2000) You make me feel mighty real (the one FAR more people know today) I (who have nothing) Body strong Grateful Can't stop dancing Was it something that I said Just you and me forever You are my friend Someone like you Here is my love All I need Too late Sylvia--Dawn pretty much hit it right on the head; a Crystal Gayle lookalike. 4 wonderful albums on RCA from 1981-1984. She gets very little respect today, but just a step below the only good country female of today... Faves: Nobody (I could play this for hours on end) Drifter Cry baby cry Victims of goodbye I feel cheated I'll make it right with you Like nothing ever happened Not tonight Rainbow rider The matador Snapshot Sweet yesterday Who's kidding who Surprise The boy gets around

Keith Sweat--No clue. From what I've read about him here, though, I doubt I'd like him. Not my style. Sweet--I'm familiar with a few songs of theirs, and I like them a lot. Should dig a little deeper sometime. Faves: Little Willy, Ballroom Blitz, Fox on the Run, Love is Like Oxygen, Teenage Rampage Swing Out Sister--I think I only know Breakout. Twas ok. Isn't somebody in this group the sister of one of the gals from Bananarama? Or was that just some bizarre dream I had in the 80's? Sylvers--Childhood memories galore from this group. Hot Line and Boogie Fever were always on my turntable back in the day. Also liked Cotton Candy and Foster's solo--Misdemeanor. Sylvester--I remember You Make Me Feel Mighty Real. Not bad. I think he was featured in the movie "The Rose" as a drag queen. Don't ask me why I remember these things. Sylvia--I know the Nobody song. Got kinda sick of it way back when, but if I heard it today, I'd probably enjoy it again for a minute. I know nothing else by her.

::Sigh:: REALLY can't say much for these one-hit wonders.. It's not really fair to judge an artist by only one song... Keith Sweat- Need I say more? Sweet- The only artist today I really have anything to say about.. Great, fun band. Never cared much for Blitz, but Love Is Like Oxygen has been a fave of mine since 1978! i have the Best Of CD, should go further into their catalogue.. Swing Out Sister-They're OK, by late 80's standards. I bought the cassingle of "Am I the Same Girl?" in '92.

Swing Out Sister - now your're talking! Love them. Favorites: Breakout, Am I The Same Girl?, Twilight World, Somewhere In The World
Sylvers - only know Boogie Fever - eh.
OOPs - forgot Sylvester - I do enjoy You Make Me Feel mighty Real, but don't know any others.
Sylvia - only know that "Your nobody called today - she hung up when I asked her name". Don't like it.
