What's your opinion of hair bands who were big in the 80s, making comebacks and going on tour, etc.? For some reason, it rubs me the wrong way....I mean, I just think that whole HAIR thing should forever remain an 80s thing, a short but fun time in music history.....I honestly don't want to see reunions of Whitesnake, Winger, Warrant and so on. Some things are better left alone.
I know there's a huge nostalgia for it - but seriously....I wouldn't run out and buy these guys' new albums or anything.

I know what you mean, Leese. Like I told you on another post, I have a guy at work trying to get me to listen to a current Saigon Kick album! Ahhhhh, NO THANKS. And he gets ALL the current albums by these bands, Great White, etc. He lent me a current UFO disc and it was terrible! They even attempted to re-record Lights Out and Doctor Doctor, their 2 signature songs, replacing the guitar parts with keyboards!! WTF? As far as the tours, well, I know each summer there are seveal package tours, like the one with Poison, Skid Row and Vince Neil. To me, that isn't as bad. As long as they don't use it as a forum to launch new songs! (BTW, Sebastian Bach isn't with that lineup, is he? Because I'd rather see Skid Row headline over Poison!)

Not sure about Sebastian Bach.......I know the Poison show is coming here this summer, and I'd go if somebody offered me tickets or something because I think it'd be a fun time.......but as far as releasing new material or trying to make it big again, I'm not for it. Because I could never take them as anything BUT a hair band, ya know? It's like, don't cut your hair off, and try out some "updated" look and sound, because you are STILL Poison, Winger, Warrant, or whatever.......and we're not falling for it!

It depends on the band. When Dokken reunited in '95, they put out an album that was, IMO, better than all of their 80's albums combined! There are some bands I'd still like to go see if they came around, but I don't go out of my way to check out their new albums. Still, it's probably better than 90% of what's out now....

In my opinion, their reunions are great because it gives us the fans, the chance to revive all those memories again. But about them coming out with new albums, it has to be really good to me or to the fans to buy them. Some groups are better to remember them as they were in the 80's.

I feel like if they are still rocking and they can still fill those stadiums, let 'em go for it.I saw Pink Floyd in the late 90s and they just blew me away!
