Here's how the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart looked on May 20, 1978.
10. Night Fever - Bee Gees 9. Imaginary Lover - Atlanta Rhythm Section 8. Count on Me - Jefferson Starship 7. Feels So Good - Chuck Mangione 6. Shadow Dancing - Andy Gibb 5. If I Can't Have You - Yvonne Elliman 4. You're the One That I Want - John Travolta & Olivia Newton-John 3. Too Much, Too Little, Too Late - Johnny Mathis/Deniece Williams 2. The Closer I Get to You - Roberta Flack 1. With A Little Luck - Wings
Any thoughts or memories of these songs?

Good stuff! Not big on numbers 2 & 3 but the rest are pretty good, Count on Me, If I Can't Have You, You're the One That I Want and With a Little Luck being the best. I remember my sister giving me her old copy of London Town. Too bad the rest of the album stunk! LOL

1978--the year of "Grease" (at least for me. LOL) Love the movie, love the soundtrack. Pretty good list. Never cared for the Johnny Mathis/Deniece Williams song, though. Otherwise, decent songs.

I have a copy of it, but I've very rarely listened to it. Other than 'With a Little Luck', none of the songs on it really stand out.

Oh, for me too - what a great movie! I remember going to see it several times at the theater that year, and I practically wore out my copy of the soundtrack!

I was only 15 when Grease came out, so I didn't drive yet. I used to beg people to go with me to see the movie, and when they all got tired of going with me, I remember taking the bus and going to see it all by myself. LOL! I was obsessed!

Hi Dawn. Not being a disco fan, I don't consider 1978 a strong year for music. A couple great songs on this list though, IMO. Imaginary Lover by ARS is one of my all time faves. Also Yvonne Elliman's If I Can't Have You. As for Night Fever even though it's disco, it earns my Special Bee Gees Dispensation. (Andy doesn't get the same dispensation for Shadow Dancing, however). There were a whole lot of Wings songs that I liked more then With a Little Luck. (or maybe I'm just being crabby today )

'Imaginary Lover' is wonderful - ARS were at their best when that song was released. 'If I Can't Have You' has always been a favorite of mine. Although I prefer Yvonne's version, the Bee Gees' version is also great!
