[shadow=coral,left,300]That Rocky theme must have been on the charts for a long time if it was released in late 1976.[/shadow]

WOW, what a list!!
I could do without Lucille and Gonna Fly Now, but the rest of the chart is awesome!
Lonely Boy, Couldn't Get it Right, and KC's BEST song, all awesome.
It's kindof weird thinking that Feels Like the First Time was the same time as Sir Duke. Feels I associate so much with the past 15+ years of classic rock (although I did hear it back then) and Sir Duke is so "of the time" from 77.
Man, music was still so good in 77!

Oh yeah, what a KILLER list!!!! Only about a month later or so would I start making my own lists. Juggie, the Rocky movie was released in late '76, but the song did not start charting until early April '77. There were at least 3 other versions of that tune in the HOT 100. But best of all--the debut hit for FOREIGNER!!!!!

Some excellent songs on this list. I still like to crank up most of these songs when I hear them today. I especially love Feels Like the First Time; Dreams; Boogie Man; and Sir Duke. Couldn't Get it Right is a great tune. Not big on Gonna Fly Now.
BTW--you know the line in "Lucille"--"...with four hungry children and a crop in the field"? I always used to think it was "four HUNDRED children and a crop in the field". LOL! ;D

Foreigner, Marvin Gaye, Fleetwood Mac, & KC & The Sunshine Band all in the Top 10. Some of my favorite groups.
Throw in Andrew Gold, Kenny Rogers, & Stevie Wonder and we realize how diverse our musical tastes were back in 1977. Country, soul, rock, & pop all represented.
Good chart today Dawn.

I remember buying "Got To Give It Up" at a small store in Boston back in '77, and I think I bought "I'm In You" as well that day, it probably hadn't hit the top 10 yet.
But "Couldn't Get It Right" is my favorite on this list!

These are some really fun songs today! Hard to believe but I like all ten selections listed. Some I haven't heard in a while, like Lonely Boy and Lucille. Others I hear quite frequently, like Dreams and I'm Your Boogie Man (my theme song, lol). I think the reason I like all of these so much is they remind me of a trip to the beach I took with my Dad on Memorial Day weekend in 1977. He had a tiny little Triumph TR-6 convertible and we made the 300 mile drive with the top down and the radio blaring these very hits. Music and memories are synonymous and whenever I hear one of these songs on today's chart I cannot help but remember the good times I had with my Dad that weekend.

That really confused my nine year old mind at the time!

Some real good ones here,Dawn.
I love the Foreigner song, Lonely Boy, Couldn't Get It Right (didn't someone post a little while ago remarking about how Climax Blues Band could have only two big hits, and how different they were?), Dreams, and Sir Duke.
I like, but am not crazy about Lucille, Gonna Fly Now (overplayed), I'm You're Boogieman (sorry, Boogie), and Got To Give It Up.
But--- When I Need You is one of my all time faves....a telephone can't take the place of your smile....

You'll get no argument from me there! I wish music was half as good today as it was then. I can see where you're coming from about 'Feels Like the First Time' and 'Sir Duke'. Even though I remember them being played together back in 1977, it's harder to picture that now with radio stations sticking so strictly to specific formats.

I've heard Maynard Ferguson's version of 'Gonna Fly Now', and thought it was really good.

I can listen to them over and over and never tire of them. LOL about 'Lucille'! My parents had a Kenny Rogers album with that song on it, and they used to play it all the time!

It really is amazing to see the different styles of music represented in the top 10. I do miss the old days when radio stations weren't so rigid about the style of music they played.
