I don't know if this is the right board to put this on, and I also don't know if this subject has been discussed yet or not. If it has, forgive me. I suppose the "girls" will mostly be answering this question, but I guess guys can have teen idols too, right? I had a few teen idols when I was younger. As far as singers go, my "big three" were David Cassidy, Donny Osmond, and Bobby Sherman. I thought they were the cutest things to ever walk the Earth! LOL! ;D I bought all their albums, and put all their posters up on my wall. I spent many hours up in my room listening to their records. Good memories associated with all three of those guys. Ahh, the innocent days of youth! Anyone else care to share?

Great topic, Kathy! I remember having a crush on Donny Osmond when I was VERY young - like about 4 or 5 years old! Whenever anyone would mention him, I would blush and start giggling! LOL! In my later grade school years, I thought Shaun Cassidy and Andy Gibb were dreamboats! Then came 1981, when I was in junior high school, and I discovered RICK SPRINGFIELD!! Oh, what a fox he was! I had his posters all over my bedroom - even used to sketch my own! I wasn't as familiar with David Cassidy back in the 70's for some reason, but if I had been, he definitely would have been in there too! He was VERY good looking, and still is, today!

I don't know if any of you know this group called La Pandilla, but I had a crush with one of the boys. This group was created by the same guy that created and directed the group Menudo, where Ricky Martin came from.

One of my favorite episodes from Silver Spoons had Menudo performing at Ricky's birthday party. *lol* ~~ * Rick Springfield * Donny Osmond (Really young when he and Marie were doing their show) I adored him, and I still have my little doll with him in a purple shredded suit! * Menudo * New Kids on the Block - Jordan was my favorite.. makes me cringe just thinking back to that time. LOL If I'd been a teenager in the 70s, there's no doubt I'd have had a big crush on David Cassidy.

[glow=red,2,300]The main one for me was the New Kids on the Block...I was in elementary school when they were popular but that didn't stop us from getting a whole bunch of their merchandise. I remember one of my friends had a phone with them on it...[/glow]

My first one was KC and the Sunshine Band. I had a blind devotion to ABBA, but never really looked at them as idols because they were married. Duran Duran was my biggest one. JOHN TAYLOR!!!!!!! I had a thing for Howard Jones. Not particularly great looking, but he was sooooo sensitive. I was way into the Monkees (still am) but it was kind of different because I caught it on the 2nd time around, and they were all older and paraded their wives and kids around. The last one I got into was NKOTB. I was really too old for that kind of thing when it came out (16) but I couldn't resist Jordan! I have a box of their stuff in the basement. Currently worth less than what I paid for it.....

Your comment on Jordan, and how you have a bunch of their stuff.. sounds just like me. My boyfriend at the time caught me eyeing their posters, and actually bought 3 of them for me. I think I still have 'em somewhere!

My very first crush was Donny Osmond. The next one was Tony DeFranco. I was in love with Scott Baio and in the 80's it was Rick Springfield. I saw him in concert twice and I still wear the :)concert T-shirt from 1982.

I hear ya! 70s Child - I'm going to have that "Heartbeat, it's a lovebeat and when we meet.." stuck in my head now. *lol* After watching VH1's Teen Idols special a few years back, I was humming that song to myself for at least 2 days but I loved it!
