Does anyone remember "Don't Pay The Ferryman" by Chris De Burgh? He also did "Lady In Red". I thought this song was so spooky when I first heard it in the 80's. Now it seems a little cheesy...
Any thoughts, memories?

Sure do - love it! I remember hearing it often on the radio back in the summer of 1983, but very seldom hear it today. I've never seen the video, but the lyrics do seem a little sinister! Like Sat, I have it on a K-tel album, Hot Tracks.

I have never seen the video, but this is one of my favourite Chris de Burgh tracks! I also like "Spanish Train" and "Crusader" - both long storytelling type songs but fabulous! I have been lucky enough to see Chris de Burgh in concert with The Box as the opening act (many years ago). I like a lot of his older material, "Lady in Red" is not one of the tracks I like. A guy I used to work for who thought he was a singer ruined the song for me. I have a couple of Chris' albums - "Spanish Train and Other Stories", "Crusader", "Best Moves", "Eastern Wind", "Into the Light" and "Spark to a Flame - the very best of Chris de Burgh". Unfortunately, most of these were on tape. I will have to pick up a few CDs as my tapes have gotten a little chewed up. I don't know that many people who enjoy Chris de Burgh's music - nice to see a few of them here
